Some folks revel in this kind of stuff, but militarism just makes me sad.

I don`t `revel` in military shows, but neither do they inspire mawkish and simplistic political sentiments in me, as apparently they do in others.I`ve been in San Francisco during fleet week, and its an interesting time, and the Angels performance is certainly impressive.

This is one of the best festivals in San Francisco, and for me it has a lot to do with the Blue Angels thundering across the sky during the airshow. It was nice to see the practice show this year from the roof of RIA HQ. Here's a photo I clicked from when they flew over the hood:

the blue angels drive me crazy. they are so damn loud and i swear they come so close to our apartment, i always think theres an earthquake cause it shakes it so much. They are annoying. Can't even talk on the phone without yelling into the receiver for someone to hear you over the ridic-ness. eck. OVER IT>

The blue angels are pretty wild. Their turns are so quick you think they're going to crash right into each other but...they don't. Lots of people turn out around the marina, fisherman's wharf, chrissy field. etc. A fun event it is.

This is a fun time. Despite San Francisco's rep as an anti-war mecca, we love the occasional military show of force of the Blue Angels thundering around the sky. I was at a "support the troops" roof top party with a couple of dj's, a full bar, and all proceeds going to our soldiers. The planes were roaring around overhead, and the city was jam packed. It's a fun weekend here - those planes are incredible, and every time I see them, I remember how happy I am not to ever have been on the receiving end of an airstrike - it would be terrifying.
