American Eagle clothing is of absolutely TERRIBLE quality. I have stopped shopping there for good because I've just had enough of their outrageous prices and all you're paying for is for that little AE embroidered on the clothing somewhere. The material that they use is very cheap and on top of that, the clothes are cheaply made as well. Bought a shirt from them last week - 2nd time wearing it and the seam has already started coming apart. My boyfriend bought a pair of jeans from them a month ago, they ripped at the belt loop seam the first time he wore them. I could go on and on - many more examples! It took me a while to finally get fed up with them and I wasted alot of money on alot of shoddy clothing made with shoddy fabric in shoddy little overseas factories. You can get similiar quality clothing at the dollar store.

I always say this, but if they didn't make logoed tees they would be the best affordable brand ever. I went to AE today (more like yesterday, considering the time) and they had pretty affordable, cute, and abiding-by-my-school's-dress-code clothes. The employees were really helpful when I needed to find a specific cardigan, and the store setup is awesome, too.

I was recently shopping at the American Eagle Store located in the Aventura Mall, Aventura, FL and I was not impressed by their customer service at all! It was terrible! I was constantly being harassed for a F****** credit card. I asked for help concerning a particular jean I was really interested in, and the associate Coleen had no F****** clue as to what she was doing, and on top of that she was giving me attitude. I was starting to feel bad because I thought it was me at first........ But then I realized it was not. She was giving fellow employees a hard time, giving them attitude as well, and over all....... I just realized she was just a plan F****** Bitch! I will never go to this store ever again! Thanks Coleen!

Their prices are so RIDICULOUS! -_- I HATE the prices! Maybe that's why most of the clothes and shoes go straight to clearance? All except the clothes that they are too stubborn to lower the prices on. I ordered a $30 cardigan from them. Quality guaranteed! Yeah right. The cardigan seemed really cheap the way it was made and on the inside of the pocket I saw pink fabric that was cutoff...It was a black cardigan. Very cheap cardigan. On the up side, they do have quality dresses and camis. I think they lack good designs though because I often see a really bad leopard print, ugly floral print, and boring leaves print. ??? where's the style? I know where it is...it's in their shoes. Yes, they have very good shoes in my opinion. The flip flops are ok...but the moccasins are great when they go on clearance and finally realize people won't buy them for $50! They also had some very nice flats last month. But I think they really lack in the creative designs and styles of tops. The online experience is very good though! I highly recommend shopping online. My order came very fast-and I chose standard. 4 days is all it took. Oh, one more thing. I really like their sizing! :) 3 stars 1.good clearance prices 2.nice variety of somewhat unique colors 3.cute shoes 4.love the sizes!-2 stars for 1.horrible pricing in this economy 2.simple, boring designs on shirts.

I give this store 4 stars because ,I love their clothes But they are so darn High, And their fragrances are awesome. But you do get what you pay for.

American Eagle Outfitters is one of my favorite stores. They don't have pictures of half naked men plastered all over the walls like Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch do, and they don't spray a ton of perfume around or play their music quite as loud either. This is the kind of store you can go into with your grandma. They also have a good range of sizes. They don't assume that everyone is a size 0.The salespeople are really helpful, at least when you're checking out. They tell you about discounts and buy one get one half off stuff so you can save money. If you buy the clothes at the regular price, some of them can be expensive. The polos are normally $24.50 or $29.50 but they're always having sales and I got 4 polo shirts for $12.50 each. Their jeans are kind of expensive, so I get most of mine secondhand, but they last awhile. I like their corduroy pants too. One downside is that you can't get your school uniform polo shirts at American Eagle if your school doesn't allow logos.

I amsolutley LOVE AE! I shop there at LEAST once every 2 weeks and NEVER leave empty handed... in fact I usually walk out with 2-4 bags haha. I would have to say out of all the clothing stores i shop at (A&F, Hollister Co., Forever 21, Express, Banana Republic, and the Loft and mannnny more), it is my favorite. Price doesn't really matter for me seeing as both my parents are lawyers =] i love money <33 but anyway to everyone who complains about the price, maybe you should take a stop in your tin wagon to Target or Wal-Mart and go on a 20$ shopping spree, I am sure you would get ALOT. Stay out of the stores for the High Class please. K, thanks, byee. I LOVE AMERICAN EAGLEEEEEEEEEEE <333333333333333333333333333333333

I've been working at AE for about a year now, and have shopped at AE stores prior to my job. I can def say that if you're looking for clothes suitable for middle and high school, this is the store to go to. I find the styles get revamped and reused season after season, which makes AE seem a bit bland to me, but nevertheless 'safe'. I have seen customers ranging in age from 12 to early 30s.The quality varies from product to product; I find the tanktops, tshirts, soft-knit sweaters, hair accessories - things like that - are made very cheaply. If you are going to shop at this store, I would highly recommend the outerwear (winter especially) because it is def built to last. I would also recommend the jeans (all pre-shrunk) however, be aware that they stretch to become about a half-size larger. Sizes and proportions are about right, although I find Aerie bras to be a bit bigger than usual. In terms of lingerie, I find the Aerie brand to be surprisingly competitive, as in some respect their bras and panties are of higher quality than those of Victoria's Secret Pink and La Senza. Bras will not fit small-chested women properly, I can guarantee that. Sales associates, in general, reflect the AE image and imbody the kind of lifestyle AE is trying to promote. While sometimes lazy, associates can be extremely helpful, as we are trained to put the customer's best interests in mind and find exactly what they need. I find my coworkers in general to be very down-to-earth; when the store is near to closing hour, AE associates will not 'kick you out' of the store. In terms of looking for a fun work environment, AE is the place for it however, wages are not competitive if you're looking for a fast way to regain what you spent on tuition, shopping, paying rent, etc etc. Durable, comfortable, and laidback. AE caters to the middle school, high school and early college audience.

I really like it. It has a pleasent atmosphere, doesn't spray perfume all over like hollister, has nice, durable, cute clothes, and has great service. I'd give 10 thumbs up-if I had 10 thumbs, that is.
Takk 04/07/2009
Overall, a great store. I own a few clothes from there-and they all are pretty high quality and lasting. The prices are a bit high, however you can either buy the newest items when they have great deals, or just go to the clearance rack for lower prices (I never find myself doing this though, lol). The styles are always new and exciting, and the employees are always helpful and friendly when helping the customers.

I think its a nice store but I can never find anything I like in it. I only have about 3 shirts from this store.
iasoaita 03/02/2009
Their tops and shoes are cute, but on me, their jeans are not too flattering.
fhplaya90 02/11/2009

effy05 01/14/2009
I wore AE a lot in high school. It's preppy, safe. Now I find it too boring. I don't like to wear logos and their eagle, albeit small, is ubiquitous. The one thing I really like about AE is their fit- always flattering. I just never go back because I can't think of it as other than my high school uniform.
GlassCandle 01/10/2009
It is a good store, not amazing, but not awful. I've been working there for about half a year, and really do like the clothes, I shopped there way before I started working there. Over half my wardrobe is AE, I don't like the jeans, but I love the tops, and Aerie. I've never been a fan of A&F or Hollister, and find the scruffy beach bum look tacky. Many people say that it is expensive, but it depends what you are buying. Everything gets marked down anyways, within a month or two that $30 t-shirt is down to like $10. Yes, they do overhire, and you do often have to stay until 1 in the morning, when you should have been done at 11pm, but thats the job, and you adjust. As for the employees, it depends who you ask for assistance, many people at my work can find you exactly what you need, while others can't differentiate between a skinny jean and a straight jean. They don't train you for long enough, but people either catch on or quit. And for the refund policy, it is WAY too lenient. They have no limit on returns, so people abuse it and make hundred dollar returns a year later. They really need to work on that.
sunnyk 01/05/2009
Returned two items purchased for my very ill son (cancer) for a smaller size. Wanted the exact same thing just smaller. They did refund incorrectly only show one item returned and now I'm out $45. They were rude to me on the phone, never once indicating that they will rectify their mistake. Told me to come to the store and they would look it over. Tomorrow I take my son in for more chemo. Where's the heart? Total inconvenience for which I don't have the time. Meanwhile, before I noticed their error I ordered a smaller size online. I would have never given them my business had I known how rude they can be
shaunbaaab 12/27/2008
This is a great store- except at the one I go to- the employees are very helpful and if you pay attention to the care instructions, the clothes do last a long time. They are a lot cheaper than A&F or Hollister which is good during the economy these days.

I like this store lots, had a bad experience with a worker though. Overall Good quality
snowstorm427 12/08/2008
Love the stuff! fantastic quality, beautiful and stylish colors (like pomegranate juice!) and wonderful service every time I go in. In reply to njkjfdlkjklrj4kl5333333333333333333333333333333333, items sometimes get damaged. It happens. But fortunately they have a FANTASTIC return policy. Any new merchandise that was purchased with damage can be returned for full price-with or without receipt. Without a receipt you just get a gift card with the amount on it. If you've had jeans for 5 years and they have a defect-like a tearing button hole-you can get the "current price" for them, so its basically $5 on old stuff, but it is better than throwing it away!
Seasnake4 11/23/2008
GOOD QUALITY JACKETS
Goose11 11/09/2008
Well, they are overpriced same stuff you could get at Aeropostale only more expensive and in my opinion they try waaay to hard to make there clothes stand out. I don't want to buy a shirt with 200000 sparkles and a huge eagle design. I just want to blend in!!
Meghann 10/22/2008
Styles are alright but not high quality.
Gregthekid 10/20/2008
I just started shopping here. I've gotten a couple of hoodies and some really cute underwear. So far the clothes have been really reliable, as well as affordable, when they are having a sale. Otherwise, I think it's a bit overpriced.

thejunebug 09/21/2008
bought 2 pairs of jeans. One ripped when I put them on for the first time. Took them back and exchanged thinking it was a freak occurrence. Two weeks later, another pair ripped in the same spot after being worn only twice! Didn't have my receipt so I was given store credit. Like I want to buy anything there ever again after that?!

Horrible tacky and CHEAPLY made. I ordered a few sweaters from ae.com and one arrived with a hole. YES a hole. The same sweater also had the tag(which is suppossed to be sewn inside) half sewn outside!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! I've never had clothing that was so CHEAPLY made that the paper from the tag on the inside of the shirt was sewn outside too. A t-shirt I ordered previously was washed once gentle cycle and has a hole where their stupid logo is and the hole is getting bigger which makes it a pj shirt now=useless. It's already been said but everything has that tacky logo or the AE letters on it which then ruins the item by making it look tacky. I had to drive 1 hour to the store to return the sweater and all they could say was "sorry about that!" And you could tell they could care less! I then decided to return the other stuff I had and never give this company any of my business again. Their online customer service sucks balls too. I sent them an e-mail about the sweater and they told me to return it to them or the store. Um yea I already paid $8 to have their shitty merchandise sent to me what makes them think I want to pay more to send it back. I burned my gas and wasted my time returning it because I wanted to be done with them. And as Yoda would say...done with them I am.

I love AE clothes! They are one pf the only stores I ever buy from but it doesn't look like they are because a lot of their clothes don't just have AE written on the chest. They are also REALLY affordable when on sale. I'm buying my back to school look entirely from the clearence and I'm considered the best dresses in my grade (I don't tell them my secret!) Also the sizes run from small to large so while high schoolers can shop there so can I and I'm 12 and only 4ft 7in. THIS STORE ROCKS!
LACRYSTALW 06/15/2008
hi i think that everyone store is different unless you stay in the same place i think A&E is great where i stay everyone is friendly and loves to smile alot and makes small talk so i dont think this post should even exist because everyone has different experiences.

More Chinese made crap clothing. Everything screams AE with an Eagle. Ok i I suppose if you're 14.

Whatever you do, DO NOT get a credit card from these people! After you pay your bill (I paid mine TWICE and haven't even used the stupid card in months-I even got a statement saying I owed nothing and had them shut my account down), they will call at all hours of the day and night and harass you saying that you didn't pay it and that you owe $30 on one phone call, then say you owe $130 the next phone call.

American Eagle owes me 3 paychecks! Lame excuses & now I'm forced to file a complaint against them. Great Clothes, but working for them sucks!
sp11 12/20/2007
I DO NOT RECCOMEND WORKING AT AMERICAN EAGLE. i am currently an employee and it is probably the worst possible job for a college kid to have! i feel like i drive for 30 minutes every single night to work for three hours. My pay checks are always just around $100 dolars and i can barely make it. I really like the clothes and my manager but the truth is the management gets ripped off too! We all work our butts of for American Eagle and they cant even give us some kinda of christmas bonus!! i have worked till 1:00 a.m this past week because of christams and they have been making atleast $30,000 every day at our store and they cant give there employees a little credit!!we dont even get a christamas party. We have to push and push for credit cards and sales but we never see commision! And the feeling that i get is that i am just another number! they hire 4 new young girls every week and so i get the feeling that they are saying " if you leave , you can be easily replaced!" American Eagle definitely knows how to make money. Hire little girls who will work for close to nothing and make all the money you can off them!! lol they just called me so i have to go to work. p.s but if you are an american eagle shopper they have good deals and quality clothes
ksyankeefan 10/27/2007
I get almost all of my clothes from American Eagle. I like the style. It's kind of preppy except not quite completely preppy.
