Boring.

I don't like everything at Talbots, but overall it is exactly my style.

The day that I find myself shopping at talbots would be a sad day because all their clothes are ugly and not sexy.  It would probably mean I'm too fat to fit into clothes geared towards younger women and then I'd have to go to the gym again and that would really suck.

Flimsy and overly conservative clothing that reflects its origins in rustic Massachusetts. My wife hardly finds anything there. The one thing I can say for the store is that at least some of their clothing is made in developed countries.

Pricey classic and traditional styling and the quality is excellent...

Classic (non trendy) styles, good quality, but extremely expensive.

Dowdy. Got stuck in a late 70s early 80s' timewarp without any of the fun.

Matronly. Just because someone might want to dress on the conservative side doesn't mean they want to look older than they are. Also, they are a little pricy, but the quality is there.

I shop at Talbots for most of my professional wardrobe. I absolutely do not agree that the clothing is matronly. It is tailored and a can be a little pricey if you are trying to put 3 or 4 pieces together, but well worth it because you can wear it for years. I always get compliments on my new outfits each season. So it is a winner and the twice a year sales are worth waiting for.

What's happened to Talbots? I mean it has always carried classic clothing, but now it seems to be marketing to matronly types only. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing what was featured in the latest Talbots catalog!

WAY TOO OVERPRICED!! Excellent quality, but it's not like it's made out of gold for goodness sake! Classic clothing for outageous prices..The outlet has some great bargains, but the retail store is ridiculous. Not worth it in my opinion!

My mom shops there more than I do
