Preach! ....

I'm adding to my previous rating (which was simply one word, "Preach!") because that doesn't do his music justice. It's still 5 Stars - and the reason for that is because his music kicks a**! I can not prove that or convince anyone of that by typing something in a rating. But I can say this, I have known people who swear they hate rap music.....but they hear DMX and they like that ****. (sorry for all the **'s, but, you know how it is). Musically speaking, give it a chance...more likely than not, you will be down with it. None of us are strictly "rap", "metal", "country" fans - and when something is good, it's good. We can all recognize that. DMX is 'da ****!

He has lost it. He said Jay Z was soft cause' he was wearin' flip flops. I believe he's still addicted to cocaine based on his behavior on his reality show. He has a few songs that I like, that's about it. Not one of my personal favorites, but he's decent.

Awesome. Just plain awesome and one of my favorite rappers ever. I wish he wouldn't keep on including Christian themes in his raps since he clearly doesn't even try to be a true Christian himself [listen to the lyrics if you don't believe me] but that's a minor complaint. Party Up was a good dance song but I think Get It On the Floor is better. I've heard that repetition is getting to his fans in terms of lyrics, but come on. I don't go by lyrics, I go by sound. If it sounds good, I like, and he certainly sounds good. I'm not the kind of guy who goes in for deep lyrics. He's spiritually messed-up and admits it; how much more deep do you need him to be? Long as the song sounds tight I don't care otherwise.

I thought he was like a Tupac rip off at first, but X won me over with his unique voice and genuinely gritty style, a product of his experience. I can't wait to see his movie of the Donald Goin's book never die alone. Donald stands on Iceberg Slim's shoulders and is therefore taller than him. All you baller's who think you don't like to read pick up a Danald Goin's book, he used to write books while in prison, get high, pimp ho's & deal drugs when he wasn't and then turn around and right books about street life that are unequalled...

I don't like rap, but I do like DMX. He doesn't rap about the stupid sh!t all the others rap about, like b!t*hes and bling bling. His lyrics tell a story. He raps about reality and tells things like they are. He also has great beats.

I love not only his style, but also the message that he passes along through his lyrics. Yes there is the occasional line about sex, drugs, and/or violence, but who doesn't rap about that kind of stuff? It's a story of their lives (well, at least some artists), how they lived through the struggles and beat the odds by succeeding in life. Get a copy of DMX's autobiography, then you will see what I'm talking about; the best book I've ever read. The man's message is deep. God Bless X!!!

I'm not much for DMX's rapping, but I do like his acting talent. He should do more films...he is great at acting.

i didn't used like hip-hop very much-- but then i heard dmx. the thing that i love the most about his work is that he writes about real, relevant topics. it's not all about being flashy and bragging about how many "bitches" and how much money he has. in my opinion, he is among the most talented of today's rappers, and one of the few that really knows how to use words to convey moods and emotions. he could be reading his lyrics without the music and they'd still be amazing. that's the true sign of a skilled musician.

DMX is one of the only true rappers left. He raps about life and reality. He doesn't talk about how much money hes got or any of that other bling, bling stuff he is a true artist and for these reasons he is one the the greatest!

Though I haven't all of his music, what I have heard has been nonetheless impressive. It seems our choice in rap artists has dwindled down to dumbasses (Eminem) or ostentatious no-talents (CashMoneyMillionaires)! But DMX remains to stand by and for the streets and his videos are almost always interesting. (In other words, he doesn't need to rent Benzes and use a hundred scantily-clad bimbos to get people to watch!) DMX is nothing but the truth!!

I am DMX's greatest fan. Alot of people will probably think this is crazy but I have a 6 month temporary tatto of DMX on my leg. His posters are the only ones that go on my wall. And I listen to one of his CD's each night while I am falling asleep. I am not crazy or a Stannet. That is just how much I love his music.

Someone needs to grab a muzzle and put it over DMX's mouth. This is not music, it's just a bunch of noise. Nobody is interested in hearing an angry man with a stuffy nose barking at them in his music. His music really requires no talent. Anyone could write stuff like his, but he's the one getting paid for it. I say we all go out and make albums with lots of barking and screaming; and dammit, people better buy it.
