Brilliant producer. I think his strengths in his production override his talents as a lyricist, point blank.

Dre shows his flowing skills with great solo performances like let me ride with touches of snoop doggy dogg (this is also his premiere album) this is the album that launches snoop doggs career and made him mainstream with nothin but a g thang.

I've heard critics diss Dre for having so-called slow, clumsy rapping skills. Hey, he's good enough to rap in the first place, right? Why don't you critics get up there and rap? Anyway, The Chronic is a great cd and Dre always does great work on producing albums for other rappers [see Eminem for good production from Dre]. He's pretty talented to be able to both produe and rap.

He's a great rapper but his producing is a better quality. Nuthin can beat a bit of Still D.R.E. and Nuthin But A G Thang.

Extremely talented! His mesmerizing lyrics are set to the perfect innovative beats. Unlike many in this category, Dre's music not only makes sense, but his vocabulary usage indicates that he is well educated and well informed. I'll always love Dr. Dre.

Dr. Dre is the genius behind one of the few significant movements in modern music, with Rap as its forefather and mentor. The lyrics in Gangsta add the street level honesty and brutal truth that was missing in much of rap music. Gangsta is one of the few movements where blacks profited from their own culture, prior to it's theft and appropriation by the pathetically behind the times entertainment industry. Dr. Dre had vision. I am saddened that gangsta rap has spawned the likes of M&M, but Dr Dre accomplishment still stands.

Dr. Dre was not only one of the premiere pioneers of hip-hop, but is also an innovative, mastermind of a producer. He will just continue to evolve with the times and keep droppin phat beats.

Dr. Dre needs to see a bunch of doctors, and needs some major surgery because he doesn't have a brain, mind, or soul.

Bid Daddy Dre has done it again! Who would dare say that he isn't the best? I know a lot of youngsters are out there hating because they don't have enough balls to get out there and make things happen as Daddy Dre has done. Don't hate the player, hate the game. When I get my chance and if it be God's will I will be on the AfterMath label with my artists. Dre is the best and you can take that to the bank. AfterMath Rules....

Simple question...Where would Rap music be without Dr. Dre? I'll agree that he's not the greatest rapper in the world, but he's one of the best producers in pop music. Dre changed hip/hop music and as a producer he wrote the book on modern day hip/hop rap music. Another thing that I truly admire about Dre is that he left the "gansta" life behind him. Its fun to hang around drugs and sex for a while, but it takes a true character to realize enough is enough. Dre is the man, what more can you say.

After looking at some of these ratings on Dr. Dre, I am highly disappointed. Why is he not getting five stars all the way across? Not only is Dre not the Godfather of rap, but he is also the master of the beats. Dre comes up with some of the smoothest s*#t I have ever heard. ALso, if it wasn't for Dre, most of the West Coast Superstars would probably still be out searching for someone to put them on the map. He brought us Kurupt, Exzibit, Hittman, many others, and most of all SNOOP DOGG. If someone is dissing Dre, they must be from Mars or Uranus. Many rappers have to get somebody else to do their beats, but Dre does his lyrics, his beats, his production, his pads, everything. Just face the facts, DRE IS THE MAN.
