He spoke about the world and it's realities and that is why I liked Pac. It is ironic to me that after all his talks of black liberation, power and struggle he ended up like a black Elvis.

This guy is far from being a "hero" I seen many wearing T-Shirts with his pic on the front, he was no hero, he is was a gangsta! Gangstas are no hero's, they are losers.

Tupac represented the very thing that is wrong with society today - abusing women, gangland violence, and making every excuse in the book for his misfortunes as if he in no way was ever a contributer to that. Tupac was a symbol of that disease, a pox on this nation, and he got the cure. He got exactly what he deserved and other commenters have said it well - "live by the sword, die by the sword". Rest in pieces Tupunk, I hope you're buring right now.

Tupac is definitly the greatest rapper of all time. When rappers today are asked about who are their biggest influences the first person most of them say is Tupac. He is to rap as The Beatles are to rock and roll, the greatest ever. He is to rap as Jimi Hendrix is to guitar players, the greatest ever. He is one of the greatest lyricists in the history of music. He is perhaps the most important African American since Martin Luther King Jr. Theres a reason why 170 comments have been left about Tupac and no more than 100 have been left about anybody else. Its because he is the greatest and most famous rapper of all time.

Funny how fans of guys like Shakur talk about things like "Equality", "Truth", and "Reality". The truth and reality is rappers get away with saying negative, violent, disrespectful, hateful, destructive, racist, and sexist things that any other artists from any other musical genre would be crucified for saying. And you want to talk about "equality"? What a joke!

Despite all his bullshit about "keepin' it real" against his enemies, Tupac was a genuinely talented lyricist who projected a much more likeable personality than most hip-hop performers. That richness of character came through in his voice, not his life. He wrote some lyrics that still stop me in my tracks, as in the song "Keep Your Head Up." He tends to be a polarizing figure -- most people give him either a 5 or a 1 -- but the truth might be somewhere in between, because he tried to equate his life and his lyrics but ended up being much better at the latter than the former.

Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up around violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society, and sometimes his feuds with fellow rappers. Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social, and racial equality as well as his raw descriptions of violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and conflicts with the law. Many fans, critics, and industry insiders rank him as the greatest rapper ever. I guess a lot of people dislike him because he claimed thuglife like it was his relgion, but can you blame him for being a thug? this guy was sent to go play with the drug dealers and he was surrorounded by crooked cops his whole life.

Only God can judge me? Wrong , a--hole , when you leave behind the trail of violence, decadence , sleaziness ,and anti-social , self-destructive behavior ,as well as the typical excuse-making , there's more than enough evidence , that We can more than judge you 100% correctly! This pathological hothead , actually believed ,that after all the violent assaults , drugs and sodomizing that woman ,he could babble something that egomaniacal . It was a statement of the most conceited proportions , an assumption that only God totally understands him , and understands why he mercilessly assaulted , attacked ,thugged , drugged , and sexually assaluted , and , love him , in spite of it all .Yeah , God is going to judge you , prick ,and he won't be very lenient , as you deluded yourself into believing He will. And your music was nothing but the usual rap garbage, and , you're not still alive , either, just BS propaganda , cooked up by other similar a--holes shamelessly exploiting you , to fill their pockets , including your mother - a similarly ,pathologically lying, violent ,racist.

Tupac is one of the greatest rapper of all time, he spoke for me and many people for generations, (Much like Kool Moe Dee), he loved his fanbase, he was a poet, he loved women of all races, yes he was controversal, but he was a real man who spoke for real truth in the world today, I Will always listen to tupac and continue to listen to him for the rest of my or as pac said, until the end of time.

R.I.P. 2Pac, you will never be forgotten.

Hartman, you appear to be in possession of key info that has eluded the authorities! Tupac Shakur was killed by rogue policemen?!? Quick! Contact the federal authorities immediately! Criminal indictments will fly because I have no doubt that you have some manner of evidence regarding this rather than mindless speculation and garden variety conspiracy theory! Oh yeah, you mentioned "young, rich and influential," but you left out "dead". And if you don't realize that that is the lesson presented by the life of the former Death Row recording artist, then you have missed the obvious. More specifically, criminals commonly wind up in the ground or in jail. Sorry if that isn't the heroic "thug life" image you were amped up for. Tupac Shakur: Despite the money, "beautiful soul" and whatever other attributes he may have had, he's worm food because he couldn't get his head out of the ghetto. And in my estimation, that does not constitute "a black hero".

im not a great big fan of rap especially the hard core stuff but i saw true talent in tupac shakur not for being a rapper but for being a true poet. i think it wouldnt hurt to find out just a little more info about this young man before making such harsh opinions of him. i guarantee there is more to him than meets the eye. id tell you but thats what learning is all about the curiosity to know something before judging it. i cant judge tupac shakurs life cuz i never have walked in his shoes and only then would i possibly have enough to know about him to voice an opinion but not to judge. ill leave important stuff like that to god

PBeavr, to be a moderator you sure are one rude idiot...but to my comments... 2Pac was at the same time one of the most destructive, but by far the most inspirational rapper in history...those who hate him probably never took the time to listen to songs like Crazy,Pain Hold ya Head staring through my rearview Keep ya head up Life goes on and my personal favorite White Manz World Pac was a hero for young black males in the sense that he would say what we all wanted to say in terms of the struggles we have...hell, to me most rock music is just a bunch of surbaban white folks being depressed because they think its 'cool', but I dont listen to it enough to condemn the entire genre...get off your high horse..until you listen to an artists ALBUMS front to back, and not just SONGS and whats said in the media, dont be so quick to trash it... oh and to the other guy, if you really believe 2pac had to rape someone to get some err...sex, then you sir are a complete and utter moron...plus how do you rape someone on a dancefloor? How do you force them to ummm...Lewinsky you on the dancefloor with all these other people looking KNOWING you are 2pac Shakur....Moron

alot of rock heads hate on tupac and i expect that but whether you believe it or not while tupac was here he helped the black community and he was the best thing that ever happened to rap. If people would stop hating and really sit down and listen to his words they would see that he was speaking for everybody who had a rough life, who lived poor, and who thought all hope was gone. Instead of this rockers who want to kill theirselves because they don't get along with their parents. That's bull sh*t at least tupac was talking about some real shit that was going on in the world like poverty. Pac is the best and all you haters keep hatin aint nobody out there that can touch him.

Pac was sooo contradictory, at first he was positive with DigitalUnderground, then he was supposed to be the blackwoman's hero or something, then he snapped back to calling the B's & Ho's, if he knew Shug shot him, why'd he keep hanging around him so much? Tupac was a better actor than rapper -- almost. Tragic loss. The black man's Elvis...

OK, WHY are people who obviously know NOTHING about the wonderful form of music called Rap and NOTHING about Tupac Shakur, feel the need to place their ignorant opinions on here? I, for one, have listened to a LOT of rap/hip-hop, and Tupac is DEFINATLY one of the most talented and prolific artists that this genre has seen yet. Yeah, he did have a cocky attitude sometimes, AND a big mouth, but there was a lot of depth behind his bravado. I have never lived in a ghetto or in a poverty stricken community, but I have felt pain and disappointment in my life, and so did Pac. He communicated feelings more universal then the genre he worked in. OH, and for these suckers who think rap isn't that hard to do, just you try getting up in front of a large group of people, rapping, and getting those people to feel the beat, feel your flow, and communicate a mood. Bet cha can't, especially not like Pac did. He will be remembered long after any of you.
