Now, here's a talent! A guy so friggin' certifiably brilliant the powers that be released him from prison. Everyone from Dylan to Nirvana have covered his songs. He is probably the second most unknown grandfather of rock between Robert Johnson and Charley Patton.

Almost all of his stuff is recorded on equipment that would have seemed unusually crude to Cro-Magnon man, but the brilliance of his voice and guitar shines through despite that.
Excellent, earthy and compelling

some of the most unbelievable Blues/Country/Folk i've ever listened to. superb guitar picking, timely lyrics. most are cruedly recorded, but better than you'd think.

Sadly recorded on primative equipment, this Master Blues Originator was a legend in his own time.He wrote beautiful, soulful honest songs and played an incredibly subtle style on the guitar that seems simple until you try to play it.He also was the one who wrote Gallis Pole, later stolen by Led Zeppelin who never gave him credit for the song.(they called it Gallows Pole)

The story of Huddy Ledbetter is incredible, his music was that of a true blues musician in every way. Leadbelly's influence reached far and wide.

So vastly underrated as a blues musician. His music is an important earmark in blues and rock and roll.

One of the more remarkable folk musicians in American history -- but be warned, there's a lot of real crappy stuff out there by him too.
