Alan Jackson is one of the best country artists who is still recording today. His singing is as good as it ever was, but the background instrumentals aren't as good as they used to be. If you don't believe me, listen to one of his earlier CD's, something like A Lot About Livin' (And A Little 'Bout Love) and then listen to a more recent one. You'll notice that most of the steel guitar has disappeared.

One of the few out there still keeping the more traditional country sound alive. He's good live, too.

I'm not sure I've ever heard an Alan Jackson song I haven't liked. That's saying something when you think of how many songs he has out there. A couple of my favorites are "Tropical Depression" and "Don't Rock the Juke Box", but my favorite Jackson songs change on a weekly basis.

A pure country classic. You can't go wrong with listening to " Chasin' the Neon Rainbow", or " She's got the rhythym (and I got the blues)" everday of the week.

What a fantastic singer. Like his song says, I'm just a singer of simple songs... and how true that is. Alan Jackson's music is getting better with time, unlike Garth who's last CD was in my opinion a disappointment. My favorite singer.

One of the all time worst candlelight country singers ever. If this rating scale was 1 for terrible and 100 for great, Alan Jackson would be close to 1 as you could get it.

The one country artist of the last 25 years that I think will be a true immortal legend. A real SONGWRITER, too, not just singing pretty boy.

I don't know why some of the people here can't give good intelligle ratings expressing their opinion without rude hostility. To me alan Jackson is the personification of pure country in a country world that is straying from its roots. One can argue all day which is best for country music on the whole. But this man is what pure country is all about. Just listen to the song he did with george strait, "Murder on Music Row" and you'll see his heart is in traditional, american music. Now if you don't like that period, of course you won't give him a good rating. Whatever. But for the fans of pure unadulterated clean backhome country music, the clear and deep voice of Alan Jackson is all we need. We do need people to carry on the tradition of the traditional and the burden of the honkey tonk live-the-words-of-mysongs performers.

He is sooooo country! And so true. He's not fake like so many others. He's got pure talent which is more than you can say for a lot of artists these days. Not since George Strait has there been a more country male artist than AJ.

Alan Jackson's music is mediocre to me. Some songs that he releases I don't like, and then some songs such as "Drive" and "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning?" were definately one of my favorites. The latter song definately touched my heart after such a tragedy.

This person is the King of Country Music! His song "Where Would You (When the World Stopped Turning)" is excellent!

Great voice, great personality, and a big influence on today's music.

There is Nothing that Alan Jackson sings that is not terrific. You have to respect a guy who writes, plays, and sings his own music. If you think otherwise, maybe you just have bad taste..

Alan Jackson is kind of off and on with me. He'll put out a cd that I really like and then the next one disappoints me. I still can't help but feel like he was cashing in on the 9-11 tragedy by putting that song on his cd "Drive". Whatever his intentions were, it should never have been released commercially.
