Never seen him do standup. His movies? I enjoyed Happy Gilmore quite a lot. I think kids like him a lot more than adults.

he was better on SNL than in his movies.  I like Happy Gilmore, but that's about it.  I tried to watch Billy Madison again when it came on tv the other day... i had to turn it.  i remember thinking, "when was this ever funny to me?"

To those of you who think this man is funny, let me explain something. Charlie Chaplin was a talented comedian. W. C. Fields was a talented comedian. Groucho Marx was a talented comedian. Adam Sandler is the Jerry Lewis of the 21st century, neither funny nor talented. If you think he's funny, watch the aforementioned performers; their films are truly, classically funny. If Marx, Fields, et. al. are to be grouped in the same category with a man who has made a career out of yelling and mugging and essentially acting like a mentally-ill chimpanzee, something is wrong. God help us if one day the standards get so low that Sandler will be accepted into the pantheon of comic geniuses. The only mildly amusing thing he has ever done was the Channukah song, and that was a long, long time ago.

Don't really understand what people see in him. His acting is not consistent and his stand up is only just bearable. The only redeeming creative song was Ode to My Car and then only if it's the radio edit version.

Adam tends to play the same character in most of his movies. Little Nicky and Water Boy being the exceptions, but his films are funny and he does a great job in all of them even Little Nicky. Happy Gillmore is my favorite, the concept is hillarious and the scenes with Bob Barker are classic.

I just cannot understand the mass popularity Adam Sandler unless my faith in the masses is downgraded. While he is funny and entertaining in small doses and in supporting roles (as he was on Saturday Night Live), his style is too sophomoric and non-cerebral for my tastes (though I suppose sophomores need their entertainers as well). Anyway, I have given Sandler chances and have seen at least three of his movies, namely Happy Gilmore (1996), The Waterboy (1998), and The Wedding Singer (1998). Of these three, only the latter was of any consistent merit (though an improved screenplay and direction could have made this film better), and both Gilmore and Waterboy had their moments (the former more so that the latter). The bottom line is that Sandler is like lots of music out there; he may be funny while one has less developed tastes, but one normally outgrows it in short order. Perhaps this is due to Sandler pushing quantity over quality (as evidenced by the large number of movies in rapid succession), but that does not justify a higher rating. As I have already said, he did a string of really good movies, but then he went downhill fast. And it doesn't appear that it is gonna get better. My favorites out of his movies would include Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, and Big Daddy in that order.

Sandler is a good actor and comedian in movies. All of his movies Ive found enjoyable and pretty funny. I liked his preformance in Mr. Deeds the best. I think his best choice would be too stay in movies. Totally different than Bill Cosby.

Mentally retarded attempts at comedy are practiced by this mentally retarded no-talent. His audience is also mentally retarded. If you have an IQ of 56, the acculturation of fry cook and the emotional maturity of a 4-year-old, Sandler is the comic for you. It's hard to believe his pinheaded movies get bankrolled, and for some unexplained reason, morons actually pay money to see them. Will wonders ever cease?

He's the Jerry Lewis of his generation, and I don't mean that as a compliment. Unlike Lewis, though, his comic sensibility isn't just stupid, it's MEAN and stupid. It's CRASS and stupid. It's REVOLTING and stupid. He's the worst thing to happen to comedy in 50 years, and his wealth and popularity speak volumes about the decline of quality and taste in entertainment.

Before throwing the tyraid of bad reviews at him, let's mention his good qualities (and yes, there are many). Adam Sandler was part of what most consider the best cast SNL ever had (Myers, Farley, Spade, Carvey, Hartman, Schnieder, Miller, Rock, etc.). He provided some to the show's personalities (one of the GAP girls, Operaman, Cajunman, etc.) He has made some of the most classic comedy cds ever (They're All Gonna Laugh At You, What the Hell Happened to Me?). What he is mostly noted for now was for having a streak of hilarious comedy movies (Airheads (not his creation but a great performance), Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy). Some will criticize his most recent projects...Big Daddy (still funny no matter what ignorant mind would say it's a chick flick), Little Nicky (I'll admit, only a rocker would fully appreciate this movie...but still funny), Mr Deeds (slow at first, but get's better as the movie moves on), and Eight Crazy Nights (too short, not many good jokes, I'll admit....a BOMB, his worst project ever). He has more top projects than he does bad. Hopefully, Anger Management will be a return to good form.

Adam Sandler's comedy is annoying, childish, and dumb. He can't really ever carry his own act without proper support and his movies show that. His way to get across to people is to act silly, but what this shows is that he is an empty suit. Sandler may be a nice guy, but he really has no talent or substance. I like comedies, but his is really dumb.

Adam Sandler is the funniest person in the world, and we are lucky we are apart of his time, if you can't at least crack a smile when you watch his movies or listen to his songs, you really gotta loosen up.

Adam Sandler is a great comedian and actor because he is so original. He is the first comedian to hit mainstream comedy because of his idiotic behaviour. Besides his many voices, his ability to play a sensitive, nice guy kind of role really validates his characters. The voice and tone in which he speaks really brings out his comedy.

Adam Sandler has done numerous movies that make me laugh hard, and he is always pretty original. A movie that sucked by Adam Sandler was "Little Big Man." This was a dumb idea and a waste of $7.00 to see in a theater.

Sandler is hilarious. He's really talented because he can change his voice in a million different ways and his songs are always good. He could never play a serious role in a movie though, if he wanted to, it would just be weird, it wouldn't work. Simply dumb humor. A funny voice and amusing for two minutes (if one is on pot, god forbid), but after years of seeing the same formulaic dumb voice and dumb acting, I yearn for something that is intelligent and witty.

Adam Sandler is one of the freshest faces in comedy there is. He is an absolute nut when it comes to comedy. Adam Sandler always gives a great show no matter what crazy character he portrays. I believe he is the premiere comedian in the world today. He's even better than, dare I say, Jim Carrey.
