In reality the guy is a total bigot!

Mildly funny. Good, but not great. He lacks the cutting edge that a Chris Rock, or Richard Pryor possesses.

I give him five stars as both a comic and a man. This man never failed to get a chuckle out me and yet retains his dignity, something most comics throw right out the window. His work of late is a needed dose of truth that many are not ready to hear.

I loved him on the Cosby Show, I loved "Bill Cosby AS Himself", he was pretty good as the voice of Fat Albert and he was even good at the Jello pudding commercials. Bill Cosby is bright and articualte and a man of character who is not afraid to call things as they are. Bill Cosby is a real leader in the black community, I doubt they are ready to follow him though.

My favorite bit is "Noah". If you've never heard it, do try to.

I'm not a fan of his standup. I think he's a good guy, but his black bashing has gone too far. "These children will buy the sneakers, but they won't buy the hooked on phonics. I don't like the rappers, or the video girls with their big butts, and they don't eat the jello pudding or use the kodak film!" I heard he drugged and raped a woman, I hope that's not true, if so that would be ironic!

Should be at the top of anybody's list. This guy can spin a yarn and split your sides like no one else. He draws from his own life and what could be funnier than reality.

I will always like Bill Cosby. He just has a talent for relating life experiences and making them funny.

great comic. i'd rate him around 6th or 7th alltime. wish he didn't become such a sellout in the 80's. but his early stand up was extremely intelligent and insightful. i still am happy to watch him whenever i get the chance.

i love bill cosby... he has an original CHILDRENS tv show.. a nighttime show on nick@nite... and he's A WONDERFUL comedian. After his life and all that he has done.. he's still funny. That's why i think he's the best

Bill is a master comedian. He can have you laughing until it's painful, and never, ever resort to anything that wouldn't be acceptable to any audience. The man is fantastic.

one of the masters still working out there today. the man isn't vulgar, he has no tricks up his sleeve, yet he still manages to knock them dead. in the movie Comedian Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld are having a conversation about Cosby and Rock noted how he caught Cosby's act the other night and was astounded that the man did over 2 hours of all new material, thus proving that not only is Cosby still tops at nearly 70, he's still a workhorse.

Underrated as a standup comic.. Truly a great one..but not filthy..for those rating him low.. pick up one of his older albums... don't rate him on his TV career.

I wish I could give him zero stars. He thinks his crap doesn't stink & there is nothing about him that is or was ever funny. What's funny about a grown man walking around talking like a retard & making stupid sounds with his butt jutting out? His shows sucked too. He's an old complaining fart knocker & has been. The only way he can get any attention nowadays is by dissing contemporary entertainers as though he were Mr. Perfect. Go stuff a pudding pop up your poop shoot Bill! (His total lack of tact & class was displayed at The Emmy Awards when he was rude to host Wanda Sykes when she tried to speak to him. What a horrible, unnecessary & uncomfortable moment he created).

Very funny i loved both His shows, Cosby, and the Cosby Show. They are funny and I enjoy them.

Easily one of the best stand-up comedians of all time, Cosby relies not on gross or shock, but on genuinely creative and funny humor. He can tell a story, use sound effects, and make fun of drunks all at the same time. Bill Cosby Himself is absouletly one of the funniest stand-up performances in the history of comedy.

I respect his career but I personally do not find his humor funny.

I can appreciate his style which is very laid back, clean and neat but he's boring as h*ll. I saw him perform on a comedy show and he's a much better actor in my opinion. I liked Fat Albert though, that was wonderful work. Bill is alright, just not very funny to me. I think his jokes are directed more towards an older (much, much older, my grandmother's generation) crowd. The Cosby Show was also bland, I have never laughed at any of the jokes on there, but it was a family show that was needed to counteract the detrimental images of Black Americans being portrayed by the media. For that I appreciated him as well.

Bill Cosby gets a lot of flak for being family oriented and clean, but that should not erode his comedic talents, as many consider it harder to write and deliver that type of material. (Some critics consider profanity a comedic crutch.) Nevertheless, taste is obviously subjective. Anyway, Cosby has always been a master of timing (which is crucial for a successful comedian) and normally transcended race (though I am not very familiar with his earlier work). William H. I think that Bill Cosby is one of the best people ever to walk on the face of the Earth. His making of "Himself" was the funniest piece of art Ive ever seen in my life. He has the outstanding ability to mock and make fun of anyone and everything. He's best when he is telling a story, its always a riot! I highly reccommend seeing Bill Cosby: Himself. I gaurantee you will have one good time!

Isn't funny. Never was. I recently listened to two of his early comedy albums and was amazed how lame, obnoxious and tasteless his material was. Essentially no redeeming social value and total lacking with solid comedic underpinnings. Just alot of boorish ghetto schtick that white folks nervously and guiltily laughed at, feeling they were required to be patronizing back there in the well-meaning but essentially phony 1960s. His Cosby Show was total unadultered crap, and his Jello commericials were about as funny Bush's economic recovery plans.

Somone who is very pleased with himself and is regarded as very funny by those more impressed with his wealthy than that is doing.Loved his albums in the 60's.Didn't like his show.No way number one,No way.....

funniest man ever

My husband and I still watch the reruns of the The Bill Cosby show. His show the huxtables was one of the best shows on t.v., wish Mr. Cosby would have another show on t.v.( starring , Clara, his spouse. These two seemed so well matched. Miss seeing you, its time for your sshow now, its 11:00 p.m. here, I must go. God Bless you Bill Cosby for giving us so many years of wonderful fun and great memories. Peggy Tate

A great guy and the funniest standup comedian ever in my book. All I have to hear him say is HEEEEEY HEEEEEEY HEEEEEY and I crack up laughing.

Cos is cool. People that call him old and corny are really missing the point and slapping Cosby's historical importance. True- he's a little stale. . .but who could argue with his accomplishments? Besides- "There is room for gentlemen in any profession." -Connie Mack

He's not always great but he can be. He also comes off as a very personable character.

Bill Cosby is for simple minded and god fearing folk. His humour is politically correct and therefore unchallenging. But mostly its just so boring and dumb. Enough about Jello and Chocolate pudding. man. Get a life!

I still love good old Cos after all these years – even if my crazy cousin nearly wore out his routines by memorizing all his records (back in the ‘60’s) and continually repeating them as we were growing up (LOL – actually, my cousin was pretty funny too). You are invited into Cosby’s routines the way you would be a good friend’s home and are soon greeted by intelligent, engaging and good-natured humor. The laughs are genuine and leave you with a very positive feeling about life in general. Both his shows were good though I think the first one lasted a little passed its prime and the other got slightly preachy toward the end. With his wit and wisdom he will surely go down in entertainment history as one of the most distinguished and well loved comedians ever.

Undeniable Bill Cosby is in the top 5% of comedians based purely on his unique style. He is a sort of sit-down stand-up performer who can bring you from tears to laughter and back again. I have heard all of his albums and in every one he does not skip a beat. When he comes to the ampitheatre in August I'm going to be the first in line.

I started out listening to my parent's records of his. I loved listening about his life as a child and Fat Albert, and the Chicken heart, He is a terrific story teller. I remember listening to those records and could picture whatever he was talking about. He was great in the Cosby show from the 198os. He is especially funny when he is with kids. We have a tape of one of his concerts called Bill Cosby -Himself. Real funny tape.like I mentioned before he is such a good story teller. I hope he is around for a long time.

Bill Cosby is the kind of guy you'd want to see if you don't enjoy crude, rude humor, and still want a good laugh. He can be boring, belive me I know he can be boring, but he doesn't go overboard like Adam Sandler or Chris Rock would. No, but he still attempts to make people laugh, and it works.

Is the guru of comedy. He changed the whole outlook of how comedy is performed. He busted into commercials and advertisements. He has a patent on pudding pops, his own show and cartoon.

He is my ultimate favorite comedian. Even though he had a stand up act, I liked him for his television show. This show and his acting ability were quite entertaining. I could relate to the topics that were covered in this show.

He is getting old, but he is still kind of funny. He is one of the best in family entertainment. He is good with the kids.

He is washed out. He really needs to retire. His jokes are dumb and he's just corny. I can't relate to anything he says.

He is a pioneer of comedy. He has been in the industry for years. He has movies, commercials, cartoons and advertisements under his belt. He is a great comedian. And he is still funny today.

Bill Cosby was revolutionary as a black comedy. Although his style was different, he really paved the way for other black comedians. Being a "sellout" really paid off for black people.

Cosby is one of the greatest comedians of all time. Whether acting in the long running "The Cosby Show," discussing his childhood with Fat Albert and the schoolhouse gang, joking about biblical occurences, or talking about parenting, Cosby is an all around genius. He revolutionized the sitcom. If only "Cosby" was as good as its predecessor.

They were playing reruns of the old Bill Cosby show and I watched almost every one. It was good to see some excellent episodes I've seen as a child again. But when it comes to Bill... he seems good to a certain moment; then you get tired of him really fast.

I almost feel bad doing this to Bill because there was a time when I thought he was funny, ah when I was twleve. This guys humor has changed or grown in 3 decades. Ugh! I can't believe people are still willing to pay him to perform and do the same old shtick. I guess he's not looking for a graceful exit.

His HBO special is still one of the funniest comedy concerts ever. He can great laughs without getting dirty. I think it would be kind of funny to see him on Def Comeday Jam.
