Simplistic buffoonery. It got old for me really quickly.

He wasn't really much more than a loveable bufoon as a performer. His humour was devoid of wit and all drawn from his personal pain and apparent discomfort in his own skin. Its a sad and all too common story in comedy, but there isn't much to be admired in his legacy.

I grew up loving this guy, I used to try to imitate him in high school. He was always funny, no matter what he was doing. I could just look at his face and laugh, a sad way for him to pass on but he will never be forgotten by me.

Chris Farley was indeed somewhat talented and his early death was a tragedy, but that does not make him a great actor. He seemed to base most of his comedy around poking fun at himself and his weight, and simply pushing the envelope. I really didn't find much of his stuff funny, but if I did, it was usually in movies such as Tommy Boy, mainly because of David Spade. I really don't think this guy would've amounted to one of Hollywood's greatest actors. RIP Chris Farley.

It's a shame what happened to the poor guy. He could be the greatest physical comedian that ever lived. And very witty and funny to back up all those wild antics. I wish they'd add an extra star so I can more fully express his true talent. RIP, big guy.

Am I the only person who thought this poor guy was way sadder than he ever was funny? I know his humor was based mostly on how far over the top he could go. As far as I could see, that and his ability to chew scenery up and spit it out were really the only two things he could do. He obviously grew up wanting to be John Belushi. He tried pretty hard but he only got his wish at the very end. If that's not pathetic I don't know what is.

Very funny guy! I liked him very much. Especially liked the movie "Tommy Boy", where he inherited his Dads brake shoe business. I am very sorry that he is no longer with us. He was very funny! What else can I say. He was great on SNL.

Chris Farley is an extremly funny and warm hearted man, but what he did with his life is very sad. He was on drugs and drinking problems only got worse. God bless ya.

I think about Chris at least once a week and I miss him. Tears of a clown, man, tears of a clown.

Chris Farley, the outrageous, fun loving comedian. Knee-slappingly funny in Tommy Boy and black Sheep. Not only was he obese, but a drug adict as well. You tried to get help, Chris, but failed to walk fast enough from your van down by the river(also very funny on SNL). We'll see you in heaven or whichever way you went Chris. ~Dana and Aubrey~ PS Nicole thinks you're hot

Chris Farley was one of the funniest comedians who ever graced television. I own his best of Saturday Night Live tape, and have watched it countless times. Chris Farley is one of those people you love to watch. His voice, his actions, and his skits are hilarious. Anybody who loves a good laugh will love Chris Farley.

I think he was one of the greatest and it's too bad that he died. I think it is sad for people to make fun of themselves to make people laugh.

One of the greatest comics of the 1990's. A true comic genius. Really got into every role he played. A great talent lost too young, too soon.
Late Guy 12/13/2000
I miss this guy. His antics and his gimmicks were hilarious. His best moments were on SNL. I can't explain why he's funny, he just is. There should be a best of tape of him.
DarkWolf 11/01/2000
An extremely funny actor and will always be one of my favourites. No matter how many times I see his movies it cracks me up every time.
SamIAm 04/30/2000
His physcial comedy astounded me..I believe he did have talent and that rare human gift to make people laugh..He would do anything to get a rise out of people, and he did! Unfortunate tragedy to lose such a comedian.

Unlikely innovators, Farley and Sandler paved the way for movies like Something About Mary and American Pie -- that is, comedy that looks like it's gonna go for the lowest common denominator, but which is actually all lovey-dovey at the same time. Farley always brought an enthusiasm and a good heart to very stupid antics...
mcke3634om 01/13/2000
His movies with David Spade are the only SNL movies that ever made me laugh....... AND BOY DID I LAUGH! :-D
GTE01593DU 11/24/1999
Slap-stick/stunt comedy just didn't cut it. His loud, rude + obscene antics became annoying. No real thought out comedy here.
