You know you're getting old if you can remember when Dennis Miller was funny. And then it was because Al Franken was writing his material. I don't get these people who refer to him as an intellectual. There's no such thing as an intellectual conservative. He's just a pompous jerk.

He was moderately entertaining on SNL, but then became the wingnut version of the equally unfunny Al Franken.
Spike65 08/23/2008
So this has become another political forum! Just for the comedy Dennis Miller is a funny guy. His stream of conciousness humor can wind on a bit long at times and you have to really pay attention to keep up with all the twists and turns but he is never boring. I am sorry he has risked his career by being a conservative commentator but he is only looking for humor in politics which isn't hard to find. Does every comic have to sign the liberal pledge? Thou shalt not make fun of liberals.
Going2Oahu 12/24/2007
Funny on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update.
angryjed 12/24/2007
a guy that tries to sound smarter than he really is.
unclereggie 10/03/2007
Had more respect for him before 9/11 fried his brain.
dennismiller 03/28/2007
Oh my god he's a genius!!! I have no idea what he's talking about. All those refernces to old TV shows from the 80s. Wow!!! What a genius!!!!! I didn't get his comparison of Nancy Pelosi to Jack Lord on 2 liters of Fresca after he ate his own sh$t, but my god he's such a genius!!!!!
Silver Eagle 252 04/01/2006
The intellectualist. Hard to keep up with him sometimes. Wish I had more brain power and a broader knowledge base so I could catch all the subtle and obscure references that he throws out. Still, very funny when you can understand what he's ranting about. Always a good break from the likes of Larry the Cable Guy (don't get me wrong, Larry is very funny, but on the opposite end of the spectrum).
stand-up lover 01/15/2006
love dennis miller, love the writing of the rants and his ability to strip away the party line bullshit. sad that he got put on a shelf at cnbc and became watered down. he needs to be allowed to say what needs to be said
gangstassnigga 06/10/2005
Effen Neo-Con! :)
southparker9 04/19/2005
Not funny or a comedian. To intellectual to be considered funny. Your audience shouldn't have to work at getting the joke. Seems to ramble on when not needed.
sol 03/17/2005
Please, do us all a favor and ban Mr. Miller from appearing on any broadcast format. It's not Miller time and never was.
edt4 01/20/2005
Though I'm loath to admit it at this point, Miller used to be quite funny. I always detected a conservative sensibility underlying his humor, but he made me laugh, so who was I to complain? Certain things grew tired quick...his continual esoteric references that were suppposed to demonstrate how erudite he was were always annoying. Now, of course, he's sold himself body and soul to the Republicans and has become a sort of poor-man's Yakov Smirnov. It's truly sad because I used to think he was genuinely funny, even though I never particularly liked him. Politics aside, it seems as if all the ability to make people laugh, all the talent, has been sucked out of him. Hopefully, George Bush will take care of him when he ends up on the unemployment line.
e-man 07/28/2004
dennis miller is a fool. worst, he sold his soul to the right wing media for cash. -which is the worst type of slimbag. he's going to be the next joe piscapo. and he's a pseudo intellectual who crumbles when he faces someone who REALLY knows what their talking about. (like ariana huffington)
punkricker 07/16/2004
This show is embarrasing-- Miller contradicts himself at least twice per show. His pathetic boot-licking of Cheney, Rumsfield and the gang takes groveling to a new level. The ratings for this show are unbelievably low, yet somehow he remains on the air. Sad...
Rater04 06/29/2004
Witty!
Gomez10 06/15/2004
I enjoy a lot Dennis Miller's show. He is my favorite comedian. Great Job Dennis!!!
daxx 06/14/2004
A true genius! And...he's right on about the Iraq war.
maersk 05/20/2004
oh believe me, i get dennis miller......unfortunatly. this guy doesnt deserve any stars for pulling a 180 and sycophantically supporting bush. ...what an idiot
oceanspray 04/30/2004
The show is going great if you ask me. Keep it fresh and at times strange and funny and it will keep going I believe
willingtolivew ell 03/19/2004
Alright, anyone who does not find D. Mill hilarious fails to realize his comedic sophistication and genius. I am at my wit's end with whichever chili cheese-hotdog eating peon (Chauncey) made fun of him for not catching a ball. What the hell were you doing with a football in Giants Stadium? Put me in coach! Oh wait, it must have come with your Tercel and a beer dispencing hard hat. Good luck with life. One word to describe Miller: gelastic. And Chauncey...you sir are an unserious rapscallian. Look it up.
jgls 12/22/2003
cutting edge.
e-bone 09/11/2003
Probably the funniest comic to stay on top for so many years since Cosby. Miller is very witty, which is why he's not ranked higher. The real reason is the great number of dull (that means dumb) people out there. You have to have learned something to "get" Dennis Miller. Conversely, the collective stupidity of people would explain the commercial success of the likes of Carrot Top. Yea, there, I said it, you can't like Dennis Miller if you're stupid.
hendo 08/19/2003
This guy hasn't been funny for about 5 years. Now he's decided he's not a comedian and has started giving unfunny conservative political rants, where he is obviously out of his league. Furthermore, despite what some people here claim, being able to cite obscure trivia does not make one intelligent.
Redoedo 05/30/2003
I've always enjoyed Miller's comedy routines. I always find myself attracted to his wit and blunt sarcasm. He makes a lot of valid points and always backs up his opinions with a unique mix of knowledge and wit. I've enjoyed both his HBO specials ("2000 Years In History" and "The Raw Feed"). I thought that his analysis on the turmoil in the world these days ("The RAw Feed") was right on target. I look forward to more from Dennis Miller in the future- he seems to get better and better each time I see him.
Gups11 05/15/2003
Should be in the top ten, for me he is #2 behind eddie izzard. It seems the people who don't like lack the I.Q. to understand him.
getback 05/12/2003
A treat someone who is smaart and funny not just silly and funny.
dbell1998 02/25/2003
Boring hack who couldn't ad lib without a script if his life depended on it. His right leaning "rants" are uninspired and insipid. Good thing HBO dumped his show. Wanna better version of Miller? Listen to Rush Limbaugh-- he's a better model of the same thing.
CanadaSucks 08/25/2002
3 1/2 stars. . .yes, he didn't really belong on MNF but he wasn't nearly as bad as the naysayers claimed. Miller is funny and smart- two qualities that are in short supply. I guess America hates it when someone actually forces them to use the dictionary. Sad commentary.
kyes 02/06/2001
he's not always funny and he's definitely sharper than i am when it comes to understanding issues. but i appreciate it cause he's sharper than a lot of people when it comes to understanding issues. when i catch him i feel like i might learn something. heheheh. but seriously, i like him cause he picks on both political sides and is not strictly leftist like most of show biz
CastleBee 01/31/2001
A very bright guy without a doubt. He seems very irritated about something and always ready to argue some big issue. But if I start watching him I can't seem to break away until his bit is done. He's really fascinating.
zoomannn 01/13/2001
It is very difficult for me to find Miller's dry political humor funny. This guy is definitely overrated, and is not as intelligent as he portrays.
Jayy18 12/13/2000
He had to be the least funny comedian in the world. I don't think he could make me laugh if his life depended on it. I can't understand how people think he's funny. I guess some people can laugh when a moron starts talking.
cath0007 10/18/2000
This guy takes sarcasm to a very UNfunny level. Please no more football announcing. It's a terrible thing to generalize and be condensending duing prime-time.
Hola de Chile 08/08/2000
No one is funnier or wittier than Miller with his kooky references - here's Miller doing football: "I haven't seen anyone run that fast since Willis ran away from Mr.Drummond after finding out he was adopted in the 12th episode of Different Strokes."
m327 07/02/2000
Dennis Miller is without a doubt one of the most intelligent comedians out there. The only reason many people don't like his humor is that they don't understand many of the topics he uses in his monologues.
Ruby 06/26/2000
Whenever I see Miller and his smug elitist shtick, I get the feeling that he really dislikes himself -- and everyone else for that matter. I'm very glad to wake up in the morning and NOT see the world through the eyes of Dennis Miller.
PoorOldEdgarDe rby 05/01/2000
I don't get the big deal about this guy. I don't think he's funny at all. I mean sure every once in a great while he makes a funny but nothing warranting the level of celebrity he's garnered.
jkri642om 11/01/1999
Smug and self-absorbed, I would love to smack around this pathetic pseudo-intellectual. Thank God his career has bottomed out and forced him from the spotlight to hawking long-distance services.
