Not so much for stand-up but as a television presence he's hilarious. Not many people remember his show on MTV back when that network was actually worth watching periodically. Stewart is smart, funny, and engaging. Paging through his book at the bookstore earns a few grins as well.

a left-wing hack. i hate "hacks" either left or right. so "in the tank" for extremist liberals. why do people hate right-wing extremists ( i do also ), but love extremist left-wingers?? he's also a liar. he edits clips of people he hates ( consevatives ) and them makes it seem like they say things they never actually said. why? if your ideology is so weak you have to lie to prop it up, it must be lame. the opposite of funny

Sharp funny and pointed. He is the best critic of the Bush administration and of the popular news media. Great and unique.

Funny, talented, sharp guy, although he sometimes seems in danger of being a little too taken with himself.

Not only is he spontaneously funny -- in the most natural situations -- but he sure is well-informed. He gets five stars from me just for his brilliance alone!

Politico operative disguised as a comic entertainer attempting to propagandize his politico demagoguery rather than entertain us with talent. As cynical and negative a person as I have ever seen. He never sees the positive side in any view or subject but his own.

I can't say I'm familiar with his stand-up routine, but his work on The Daily Show is funny, relevant and angers those who are insecure in their ideology... All the hallmarks of a great comedian... I still hate his interview style though.

Jon Stewart can make anything funny, hes hilarious on the daily show and outside of it.

This show is funny if you're looking to laugh at anything. If you're not, you're going to be disappointed. This show is awful and overrated, most likely by those that hate Bush and are willing to prop up Stewart based on the fact he's a lib.

Jon Stewart is one of the best stand up comedians, and if he got more televised stand-up exposure, he would be huge!

One of the funniest comedians on television. No one else can be so relevant and so irrelavent in the same 30 minute spot.

Pretty bad comic performer can be occasionally funny on The Daily Show, but seems nervous and uncomfortable while onstage.

Although he's fun to watch on The Daily Show, you simply cannot judge him based on that alone. It's his stand-up that I love. He's a different person on stage; if you've not seen him perform, he's more like the guy from The Jon Stewart Show than he is the "nice guy" from TDS. I like Jon on TDS, but I love Jon on stage.

I've been a fan of his since The Jon Stewart show (was so bummed when it was cancelled!) He's hilarious, and I loved Unleavened as well (sooo funny. I wish he'd do another one)... Everyone on the Daily Show makes it the amazing show it is, but yes, Jon is indeed excellent as host... Best of luck to him :-)

A very very funny man, on his show he is at his best. Sadly I cannot say at stand-up he is that amazing. Although he is better than 85% of the stand-ups out the he just wasn't cut out to do it full time, and that's fine.
