They should be called the "Backdoor Boys," because their music is decidedly on the Minty Boy side.  Very light in the loafers.  No wonder this crap is so popular among the pre-teen set.  There's no sexual valence to it, outside of a heavily-implied limpwristedness.

For my money, the decline of Western Civilization has something to do with the actual acceptance of these backdoor boys as something actually other than panty-melters for girls-with-braces. . .instead, the record company forced them down our throats and people actually laid down hard-earned cash for it. . .there was a time when bubble-gum pop knew its rightful place. . .

Singing mice. And I use singing in its loosest possible meaning.

They've come back yet again, and I feel like they've moved out of their teeny bopper, fan girl image, and turned into a real nice pop band. Their new songs are much better than their old ones, and even have some good messages buried in some of them. They've all matured nicely, and they even sound better.

I always was a big BSB fan - apart from Take That they were the only decent boyband. New album is the best yet.

Used to be a fan like 5 years ago. Everything went downhill after the Millenium album. They can sing, but they cant dance for S*it. Black and Blue was complete crap. It seemed to me that they were trying to copy 'NSYNC with that album. It's kind of sad that not even ONE member of the BSB has had a successful solo career, while 4 of the members of 'NSYNC have had successful careers. They even had a Greatest Hits album! HA! What big egos they have. AJ is/was an alcoholic, Howie is just there, Kevin acts too old and too serious, Nick is just fat and has a whiny voice and Brian is just there. Unless they can prove me wrong, my opinion for now is that the BSB suck!

I have but one question for those of you who are badmouthing them. If you don't like them then why are you on their message boards? And get your male vocal groups straight people. Joey Fatone was in NSYNC not Backstreet Boys. I'm 28 years old and I don't recall ever hearing that the Backstreet Boys are just for teenagers. They do have a new album coming out next March so they're not quite over yet.

Just which backstreet are these boys making music on? A good band- no, not even close. Most of it is mediocre teen love songs. But I admit I like a couple of their songs.

Awww. Ppl can be so fickle. Yeah I admit they are so over, but I still listen to their music when my heart is achin''cause it makes me feel better. I admit that their music doesn't have any real purpose to many people, but it gives me hope that maybe someone will say the things that they say in there music to me. i know that they don't write all of there own stuff, but who did before the beatles came around, not many ppl did. They're singing from their hearts and you can hear it. It's feel good music, not everyting has to be taken so seriously.

All right, look. They started out average at best. I was cool with them. But gradually the music started to become blander and weaker to me. So BSB fans, I really tried. Believe me. But they really don't sound good to me. I'll at least be nice about it.

What a concept. 5 guys that wouldn't know music if jumped up and hit them in the face, but they are incredibly good at extemding syllables, as in Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh. 0 Stars

The backstreet boys are a sold group that have solid tracks. Thier first self titled hit was a huge success that sold alot of copies and it has reall good dance tracks like "hey Mr dj" and 'get yourself a bad boy" and some easy-groovies like "quit playing games with my heart" and "as long as you love me" Then the smash hit "millenium" came out and it shcoked the world with" larger than life" and "I want it that way" and the "show me the meaning of being loneley" is a solid track that has the right balance of meaning, beat, and arrangemants that really is top. The track "back to your heart" ahs tears going down my face almost every time I listen to it! Then recently, the latest hit"black and blue" a perfect 3rd album Is a huge success and the track"shape of my heart" is a groovy-love song that is great to hear when your on the road at night and "the call" is a definate club must-play with the coolest arrangemants from the prgramming wizards behind the scenes! And they are more than thier music, they all have great perosnalities and they are very loved by fans like me and my freind ashley, they are her fav group. and I love tham too. I hope to go to one of thier concerts and see them in person someday.

LOVE THIS, LOVE THAT. Please. Hearing a bunch of grown up guys whine about love is nauseating. You think these bozos could sing about something else, ANYTHING else. All their songs sound so much the same that BSB is beginning to resemble my great Aunt Hilda's broken record player. As such, BSB stands for N-O-T-H-I-N-G. They are NOT musicians, they aren't even good vocalists. Also, can anyone tell me just what kind of a look Kevin is going for? He looks absolutely hideous, in fact they all look like a bunch of freaks! Its time to put these puppets to rest, preferably by flushing them down the toilet!

even if they are the "original" boyband, I don't seem to enjoy their music as much as 'nsync's (sowwie) because their type of music is all seemingly the same and you can't really differentiate between the songs they sing.. I recently heard that new song Drowning and the melody wasn't very surprising or appealing as I wanted it to be. I just hope they can add more variety to what they sing..^__^

The Backstreet Boys are simply a horrible band. I can't stand their cheesy music and I am annoyed when their songs are one of the few that are played on the radio.

I would have given the backstreet boys a 1 if it weren't for the faact they liked what they were doing for the first few alblums now they play because they can't stop because singing is how they get money- in other words they get paid to much to stop you have to admit they were kind of good at first but they got increasingly old, ran out of good Ideas and they're songs are getting increasingly worse since I first heard of them.

Ok Bsb is not the best but their not the worst either! I admit I like some of their songs and I own their cd but they just seem a lil too old for me in person!The best one would have to be aj even though he has faced many problems he is still going strong. Thats all!

A LITTLE bit better than *NSANE. Slightly less intolerable, slightly less of a disgrace, much more mature sounding. Still, mature does not mean good. I think they're awful, just not quite as awful as *NSANE (oh, I'm sorry, did I spell their name wrong? My mistake!) Plus, even though they think they are, they are NOT the slightest bit good looking!

The Backstreet Boys have always from the start have had that something special. And they are growing in alote of diffrent ways, musical and spiritual as a group. And i think that they are very strong and honest who want to let all thier fans and the rest of the world to know 'bout their problems. That shows that they are strong and will be going on for a very long time on. All I have to say is that I love and apprisiate the music of the Backstreet Boys because it have saved my life alote of times when I have felt that it was nothing to live for, but the song as long as u love me saved me.
