I have been an admirer of La Streisand for many years. Her public persona, I believe, is nothing close to reality and that seems a shame, but her voice continues to astound and is as captivating as it first was 47 years ago. Who else in entertainment has maintained the same range? Not Ella, not Peggy Lee, not Rosemary Clooney. They all went elsewhere with their musical style when their voices began to diminish. Not Barbra. My concern now is that she does not look well and I wish her well. With a trainer for the last 27 years, and all the money to maintain the illusion of agelessness it isn't happening. I think something is terribly wrong.

Her singing is as horrible as what she calls a nose. Even Michael Jackson's nose looks better. Also, she's opinionated, which is always a huge turn off. Sure, everyone has opinions, but I don't try to force them down people's throats like she does. What a horrible life she must have.

She's good, but a little overrated. I always thought her voice was a little too nasal. I have a few of her CD's that I enjoy listening to.

Perhaps the most overrated celebrity of our time. She ranks with Zsa Zsa Gabor, basicly just being famous for being famous, no reason. What a voice! She is somewhat too liberal for me politically but what does that have to do with her talent? If she actually did say that she would leave the country if Bush were elected, she really shouldn't have said it but I suppose she was just very frustrated to see that even though Gore got more votes (from the actual US population), Bush became President. I guess alot of people who have written very negative things about her in this forum can't stand the fact that she can bring in an enormous amount of money for the Democrats any time she chooses to just by singing. She has given me a ton of listening pleasure through the years. I agree with the person who said that she really shouldn't be in this category (pop/rock).
