Somewhat light yet dark, I've always liked The Cranberries. This Irish band can do light and airy with singles such as "Linger" and "Ode To My Family" and harder and more earthy (e.g. "Zombie"). The groups lesser-known songs are relatively consistent, all held together by Dolores O'Riordan's breathy vocals. Nevertheless, The Cranberries faded rather quickly after their first two albums, and most anyone interested would be satisfied by their compilation "Stars: The Best Of 1992-2002".

P*sspoor indie rock from a time when the whole indie rock thing was going down the tubes anyway. Their brief popularity in the US is pretty mindboggling but at least they had little success in the UK.

Good stuff. They should get back together and make another album.

They had a good run in the 90's. They made some quality stuff and Dolores O Riordan voice is exceptional. Who knows what has become of them?

Delores O'Riordan: Sinead O'Connor wannabe.

Horrendous garbage that makes you want to smash whatever it emenates from.

I don't know what's so great about them

As a band I'd give them a three but they get an extra star for Dolores O'Riordan's magical voice. You can hear the pained soul of Ireland in those plaintive notes. The video for Zombie is noteworthy.

Is this chick singing, or hiccuping? Music so bad, it borders on funny.

Dolores O'Riordan, Sinead O'Connor wannabe. Very overrated...

The Cranberries are the whip. Dolores O'Riordan has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard in my life. Since they also sing about political stuff, I give them a lot of props for that.

The first two albums from these Irish wonders were incredible. To The Faithful Departed was very inconsistant & Bury The Hatchet deserves to be buried.

Nice and refreshing music, although some lyrics are really stupid.

The lead singer seems like a prima donna, self absorbed "young lady", who takes herself very seriously.

I have a black Lab who howls continuously when you play the song Empty from the No Need to Argue CD. Now that he knows the song, he starts right at the first piano keys. It's hilarious. Dolores O'Reardon's voice strikes some kind of perfect chord with him. Do you think the Cranberries would be flattered or insulted by that?
