I like nature anyway, so if I had the opportunity to live by water, I would. I could just sit and look at the water all day, surrounded by shade trees. That's my kind of living.

I'm 50/50 on this one. Living near the water is nice, but this usually equates to an over abundance of people in the area. I hate crowding, so I'd sacrifice my love of water is I could only find a place where I had no neighbors and the town/city was fairly small.

The only time I ever live by the water is when we have a flood year. Nope, I live in the Mountains with fresh air and wildlife visitors in my yard.

I actually consider how close a town is to a body of water, even a big creek or small river, when I consider moving. I am hoping to some day have large land holdings on a small lake.

Take a look at a map that charts population density and you'll be surprised to discover that this one qualifies as "Stuff Human Beings Like".

I always did want to live by the water! I would prefer a lake in the forrest,I would think it would be great to wake up and have my morning coffee out on the porch while looking at the water.

I like living near the water. It's soothing.

For 27 years, my parents owned lake front cottage right on the beach. we spent many summers there. then my dad died and my mother could only live there for a few more years. it became too costly {for many reasons} and she had to sell that wonderful place. I miss getting to go there. I feel bad that it has become way too expensive to get something on a lake.I live in Michigan and there are lakes everywhere. If we ever came into money I would love a place on a lake. do not think it is because i am white. but it is so nice to be near water.

Yes, love it and wish I still lived on water front property. Very relaxing and something I miss!

Bah, I live a landlocked existence and I'm cool with it, but those years at Camp Pendelton where my barracks was a five minute walk from the beach were okay.

I live 100 yard from a river, and while its a pretty small body of water, I definitely enjoy it. I would love to live by a place with a good view and recreational opportunities as well. However...if white people like living by the water so much, how come 90% of the people the media showed with waterfront property after Hurricane Katrina were black?

I think that living by the water satisfies some kind of deep genetic programming in our reptile brains. Why else would people go to such trouble for a water view?
