Yet another band which is being rated by the mass morons of the ages.

"Yeah, they're AWESOME, and nothing could make them any cooler, only they suck because they're trying to be pop-punk." 

That is the kind of drivel people have rated this with. They're caught between what they KNOW is cool, and what they are SUPPOSED TO THINK is cool.
In this day and age, apparently 'pop-punk' isn't 'cool,' therefore; saying so is some kind of tabboo.
It seems to me that most of the people that hate this band haven't even heard the really good stuff: Million Miles Away, the Kids Aren't Alright, Come Out Swingin', Can't Repeat, Gone Away, All I Want, those are the ones with great tunes, and the guitar in the Kids Aren't Alright is awesome.


Point is, it's a fun band, energetic, great tunes and good all-around. 
If you're looking for something that sucks a bit more, look at the Ramones, they're always good for pretending you like because they're old even though they're BORING.

I give the band a four out of four out of five for catchy songs, interesting and unique vocals, and for more than two good songs.
It loses a point because the music isn't spectacular, and they do seem to have a lot of doozies in the bunch.

Infernal rubbish, I'd treat them as a big joke, except that they're not even funny, this band simply sucks.

This band is one of my favourite ones. I have 10 of their songs and all of them are mad. How can you listen to the Nirvana-esque Self Esteem and not like it?

I hate to admit it, but I like this band. It's especially good when you are doing something like moving, spring cleaning, painting or whatever. Gets you energized.edit: I think the reason a lot of people categorize it as punk is because of the way they play guitar. For a while they put Nirvana in punk also because of this. It's definitely not the best guitar playing, and punk is usually guilty of this.

Really bad nauseating band. I have not heard anything from them lately so that's a good thing. I hope they stay away. My luck is they will try and make an eno record!

I remember I bought the "Smash" cassette way back when, and I wore that thing slam out. I'll never get tired of hearing "Self Esteem" or "Come Out and Play."

I think they are a pretty good group. Some of their music is just fluff, but some of it has a lot of meaning like "one fine day", "kids..", "come out swining."

A fantastic band in my opinion. Ok so maybe they went a bit to pop-like on Americana but it's still good music. They have amazing songs and fantastic albums that i canlisten to all the way through. Their first album was abit cheesey but hey that was 1989.

offspring is awesome, they sound a lot like greenday. greenday is good too. i love hollands voice. "original prankster!" i agree with AngusYoung though, offspring isnt punk. the ramones, swingin' utters, sex pistols, misfits, the bouncing souls, etc., this is punk. ahem, NOT blink 182. jesus.

People who call this punk don't know what punk is!!!!! This is called pop-punk! Real punk is The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and so on.....

These guys are pretty good, but their earlier stuff is way better than the recent CDs. It seems they can't tell if they want to be punk, or pop, or alternative... They need a return to their roots.

The only things that bother me are that the words are too blunt and Dexter tends to scream more than his share. He's sexy tho.

They have a lot of good songs, but not their new album.

This music was specifically geared towards pre-pubescent little skaters who have so much hostility for women and their parents that they have to listen to loud ranting music while they masturbate under their Star Wars blanket. A true MESS of sounds. This band...for lack of a better word....SUCKS.

I especially love old offspring.

These guys have some good stuff, but they tend to produce a bit of really similar stuff. The singer has a voice that you can get sick of too. But like I said, they do have some good stuff. The song "Pretty Fly For A White Guy" was a big hit and their latest hit song in Australia "Original Prankster" is a good song. Do have a listen to their stuff because who knows, you may really like it.

They are good music writers! The music composition has great potential. But all of that potential is squished by the horrible singing. Maybe they should just go instrumental...
