04/28/2003 | Espescially in light of the recent threat of a biological terrorist attack, this organization is definately important as "America's First Line of Defense". The effectiveness of this organization has really improved over the years with mandatory immunization nationwide to prepare America for the possibility of a bio-terrorist attack.

05/27/2001 | It is difficult to put into words the importance of the CDC. With a complete staff of over 8,500 in 170 disciplines, this place is the United States first line of defense in the battle with infectious diseases. Living a good healthy live is something that we all strive for and any agency or organization that does their best to help people live healthy lives free from serious infectious disease is tops.

05/15/2001 | There have always been urban legends of the lethal strains of diseases that lurk within the walls of the CDC. I have even heard people say that the CDC has the cures for cancer and other fatal illness but won’t release them because of the money drug companies would loose. These things probably have their own levels of truth, mystery, and legend. What I have seen from the CDC though has been quite remarkable and extremely responsive. When a disease or potential spreading epidemic is identified and they can trace to pinpoint accuracy the cause absolutely amazes me. The work and research provided by this organization has saved many lives and communities over the years. From their efforts to immunize America to control infectious disease to preparing plans and antidotes for bio-terrorism they perform an invaluable service to our country’s health and national defense.
