If he recorded "Night Time" and nothing else he'd get 4-stars. . .

An American icon! His mixing R&B and gospel can raise your hair and bring a tear to the eye. Im so glad that he blessed us with his music. The world is much richer for it. He will be greatly missed.

The greatest, his tone was so perfectly warm and could take you from a laugh to a cry in a heartbeat. Listen to "Hard Times" a minor song in his repertoire and hear the story of a life of struggle and perseverence.

A gifted performer. Sweet soul music sung with what seems little effort, a legend in his own right.

An R&B innovator and genius. "What'd I Say" was recorded in 1959. Would you think it was that old?

THE man. No would can sing a simple melody as well. And he employes a big band to this very day. He's a bit of a jerk to his sidemen, but the music doesn't suffer and he pays the players on time.

He's legendary. Over 70 years old now. He is one of the best early rock era musicians.

How is it that two men who are BLIND AS BATS can be the GREATEST PIANISTS OF ALL TIME??? Ray and Stevie should do an album together. I would die twice over with a smile on my face!

Nice "America the Beautiful" at the Superbowl. Good when we can get some of The Greats to sing at events like that. Uncle Ray is 71 now and can still wail that one out. Had a great career and is one of the innovators of rock and roll. A great musician. Can really feel music.

Qualifications? Just For A Thrill,I've Got A Woman,A Fool For You,This Little Girl Is Mine,Drown In My Own Tears,Hallelujah I Love Her So,Lonely Avenue,The Right Time,What'd I Say,Let The Good Times Roll,Georgia On My Mind,Baby It's Cold Outside,Crying Time... Don't hold his 80's and 90's sell out against him. Young black musicians didn't exactly get what they desrved in the day. It's nice to see him get it any way he can now.

A true legend, recently saw him in Naples Florida. Great show, Him a BB are getting old, if you get a chance catch their show. The great ones are gone before you know it.

A true master. His often overlooked country sides are pretty amazing too.
