Ricky Martin is an extremely talented and hard working entertainer. His concerts and personal appearances have always been well received by both national and international audiences. I could go on and on about his achievements and awards in the field of music; but I would rather comment on the fact that in addition to his being an excellent entertainer, Ricky Martin has also been recognized for his humanitarian efforts. He dedicates his time, money and energy for UNICEF as well as other charities and hospitals that involve helping children. I have a great deal of respect for this gentleman.

Ricky Martin is so overrated. People think this guy is so great. On Vh1's 200 Greatests Pop Icons of all time he said, "What can I say about the Beatles, oh yeah, they were the first boy band." What is this guy talking about? How can you call the greatest band of all time a boy band. Ricky is just a one hit wonder. The beatles contributed more to rock and roll with Sgt. Peppers than Ricky has ever done or ever will do. Ricky should shut his mouth and start writing his own music for a change.

Ricky has that speacial and unique gift to be the messanger of his nation and with his music as a perfect tool he's been able to show the world that the culture and the peoples of these sometimes forgotten places have the power to transmit the message to all of us for the union of the peoples of the world in the name of love and peace. There have been and will be many good artist around in our life time but just one or two among them have been blessed with that special gift and the power of being able to reach and touch our souls in the deeper meanings and Ricky Martin possesses this magic.

I loved "Living La Vida Loca" and "Copa De La Vida" is an infectious song that just gives you goosebumps and makes you want to dance. However, lack of a big hit here in America (and I suspect a lack of his own songwriting ability) should push him way down on this list.
