Collective Soul is one of the best bands to come out of the 90s. Unfortunately, they are also one of the most under appreciated. They have released many hits throughout their musical career and have proven that they are worthy of much critical praise.

Collective Soul's concert experience is also not to be missed. Ed Roland is one of the few musicians around nowadays who actually sounds exactly the same both on the radio and in concert. The band always does their best to put on a good show and strike a balance between old favorites and new releases.

This band had possibly the most whitebread name in the history of music. Cheesy alterna-pop glossed out to shiny gellified perfection.

Collective Soul deserves credit for writing some great riffs.  Unfortunately, their songs were too tight and polished for their own good.  Music losses its appeal when spontaneity is stamped out.

Was there a more overrated band in the 90's? Okay, so there were other bands that were overrated, but these guys were lucky to have a career. Lousy lyrics, an annoying voice, and music that doesn't inspire anything. Sorry, just being honest.

For a modern rock band they were prettty good.

an excellent band...every song is good and as olsaintnic said unique,though december (their biggest hit)was probably their only song accepted by radio...their self-titled album is excellent

i love collective soul, they're awesome. i always liked them. saw them live along with creed and full devil jacket (whoever the hell that is, they werent that great) and anyways they kick ass. the only thing is though i never knew they were the cussing type till i saw them in concert. that didn't impress me.
