A person doesn't need to be married or have a family to appreciate her down-to-earth approach on life. Her books are good-natured and wholesome, and proof that reading material does not have to be steamy to be entertaining.

I love her books! She is not one of those roll on the floor laughing comedy writer ~ but I love her sarcastic approach. ANyone who is or has been married and has kids knows exactly what she is talking about. Humor in everyday life ~ that's what it's all about!

She wasn't the type to make you double over with laughter most of the time, but she was genuinely witty - better than most would-be comediennes. What some people may not realize is that on occasion she could also be very serious and could move you to tears. Everyone should listen to, When the mother becomes the daughter and the daughter becomes the mother. It's one of the most touching things I've heard.

I have been a long time fan of this wonderful author. I especially enjoyed her work because she told things like it really was. I guess I have read every book she ever wrote, at least five times and laugh out loud every time.

I fell in love with Erma's books before I had children and a home of my own and liked them even better after I had children and a home. She truely understood motherhood with all its many joys and sorrows and knew that it was better to laugh than to cry. I've really missed her since she died.

Erma Bombeck is not so much a comedy writer as she is a philosopher on the simple things in life. She looks at the situations we all go through, the everyday drudgery, and shows us a different angle on it that makes us laugh. She is a feel-good writer. When you finish reading something she has written, you feel a little bit better about yourself. I miss her and am sorry she passed away.

I think she's really funny and she has a heart. She's also written some really touching articles.

Not a fan of the Bombeck. She really stinks. There was one time that I picked up her book When You Look Like Your Passport Photo It's Time To Go Home (I think that's the title) in a book shop and just flipped through it and thought for a moment, Hey this is kinda funny and then I realized that it wasn't the ONLY book in the store and moved on.
