As a book this was pretty much one of the best in the series, however as a film it suffered from time constraints which meant important parts of the story were missed and the rest was compacted and processed into something which if it was made of pork then you'd have to call it spam. This film is where we see a true turning point in the lives of the characters we have seen over the previous 4 films - they have grown up and now they're fighting back against a threat which the general wizarding community doesn't believe exists. In terms of character development we see Harry is now starting to take control and to prepare for war he knows is coming. The special effects are great, and it was totally amazing to see some of the set pieces realised on the silver screen. If you're a Harry Potter fan then you're bound to have seen this already, if your not then you probably won't want to watch this.

A huge disappointment. It's certainly competing for the title of 'weakest in the series so far', and that is really saying something... It missed out critical amounts from the book, made what used to be excellent scenes (for example the DA Meetings) completely cringe-worthy. It also included some parts that wouldn't have made sense or would have looked completely out-of-place had you not read the book (for example the whole Cho Chang sub-plot). After the slight improvement that Goblet of Fire had shown, I was very disappointed that such a high-calibre book wasn't made into an equally impressive film. It was only rescued by some of the action scenes, for example the duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort at the end, although the whole climax would have been a lot better if they had stayed faithful to the book. It is also overlong, considering the amount it misses out. A thoroughly unenjoyable experience, and a huge letdown. It doesn't bode well for Deathly Hallows...

I liked this movie but I think that it is the weakest movie so far. I was upset that that did not have quidditch in the movie at all especially since in the book Ron joins the quidditch team. They changed scenes around that didn't make much senses and they added things that never happened in the books. I understand that when they adapt books into movies they have to eliminate things to save on time. Even though it was one of the weaker films I still enjoyed it. One of the good things about this movie was Evanna Lynch I think she was a good choice for Luna Lovegood, she did a great job.

Best one by far. Kept me on the edge of my seat. I never read the book, and that could be the reason im not spewing complaints out my bunghole like jam jam or jelly bean or whatever her name is, because the producers missed a few key parts from the book.

As probably every other coherent review out there states, this movie marks the point of the storyline where it turns decidedly darker, and definately with a sharp change of pace. Stop reading if you don't want spoilers. SYNOPSIS: Harry becomes aquainted with the Order of the Phoenix, a group of wizards who banded together with the goal of defeating Voldemort. At Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic installs a new teacher who tries to push the agenda of the Ministry, which includes the supression of teaching practical magic. With students outraged by the lack of a useful education and fearful of the apparent impending rise of Voldemort's power, they turn to Potter for leadership and form their own group to secretly learn about defensive spells. PROS: Considering the immense content of the book, it's good as a brief summary of the story. Consistent with the other movies, this one provided a rich, imaginative environment that draws the viewer in. CONS: Understandably, the details of the story have been severely cut short, which would likely make it difficult for those who haven't read the books to follow. I think if I hadn't read the book, I would have been all but completely lost. OVERALL: Probably one of the weaker installments of the movie series so far, but still good to watch.

The movie pretty much sucked.
It crapped all over JK's book.
I know they have to take bits out so it doesn't en dup like 10 hours long but I don't know how anyone could have understood it without having read the books.
