I love Ray Bradbury. I haven't read much that he has written since the '80s, but when I was a teenager and young adult, I read everything of his I could find. Something Wicked This Way Comes might still be my favorite novel. I first read it when I was about 12 or 13, and I was transfixed by its imagery (I don't talk like this in person--people would think I was some kind of damn sissy.) I read it again in my 20's, thinking I would be disappointed, but still thought it was very, very, good. The movie was ok, but ultimately disappointing.

Above average writer, and better than most in this genre at using the language. Hasn't aged particularly well, but still eminently readable.

Ray Bradbury did for science fiction what Tolkein did for fantasy...I love Fahrenheit 451 and all his short stories especially, but my favorite book by far is Something Wicked This Way Comes. Many dismiss it because of its elementary reading level, but it is a great book.

This guy is way too descriptive.

Ray Bradbury is one of the greatest writers of all time. If you don't enjoy his work then you don't know true science fiction.

Can't say I've read a lot of his stuff, mostly short stories, but find all I've read pretty dull and hard to get into. Maybe his writing style disagrees with me or something.

Although I have not read any of his novels, I have read a bunch of his short stories. You can tell he had a very imaginative mind just reading his stories. He posted many stories in the Tales From the Crypt series.

Interesting stories, fun, no doubt, but nothing special.

How do you spell Ray Bradbury? O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D!My dad hates him, and I won't go that far, but the only halfway decent novel he wrote was Farenheit 451. I practically fell asleep over the Martian Chronicles, and I don't see what people love about him. He's just flat-out boring, but a decent writer still. Has a thing for putting things into words. Three stars.

It is not very often that an author is able to make bold social statements while also creating entertaining story lines and characters that readers can genuinely empathize with. Bradbury's writing (especially "Dandelion Wine) draws the reader in, allows her to experience events as if they were part of her own life and simultaneously preaches important messages about society today.

Ray Bradbury has a very imaginative mind. He uses some really nifty stuff in his stories. His Tv show is really cool too. I haven't read too many of his novels, but his short stories are great.

Don't care who he's "close to" in HIS life, it's the characters he's created and the stories he's written that have enriched MY life that make me such a fan of his. I have read every novel and short story of his that I have been able to find in print.

Bradbury's simple language contrasts some amazingly thought provoking stories. What an awesome writer!

Rich in ideas, not so rich in plot and characterization. I found it disturbing to find he was so close to the Reagans.
