11/29/2005 | The Amber books are almost required reading for anybody who claims to read a lot of fantasy. They are not your run-of-the-mill stuff, and it takes a while to find out what is going on. Classics, and for good reason. Don't miss this author.

09/10/2005 | Tied with Philip K. Dick and Dennis L. McKiernan as the best authors I have ever read. Many of his smaller works are hard to put into a coherent context unless you have researched the subjects as well as he has but his anthology, The Complete Book of Amber, is the most timeless piece of writing that I have ever had the privilege of reading. It combines aspects of dimensionality, chaos vs order, good vs evil, moral ambiguity, technology vs nature, classic high fantasy, and hard core sci-fi in a manner that I hadn't believed possible until I cracked the cover of this impressive work. He should have won the Pulitzer for this work. He creates a style that is so seamless that you would never believe that he started writing this anthology in the seventies and finished in the nineties. His style stays constant despite of the societal changes happening all around him. Find me another author that has accomplished this feat and prove me ignorant. PLEASE. If there are other authors out there with similar style, I want to know.

04/04/2005 | He's far better than average for the genre, but too erratic to give 5 stars. Some of his work is excellent, notably the early novels of the Amber series, while other stuff is mediocre to poor.

04/22/2004 | I've only read his Chonicles of Amber, and from that alone I have to rate his work with a 5, I think it's awesome and just a fantastic ride into the fantastic.

04/03/2003 | He just sucks. "Amber" is no fantasy, nor scifi. It's nothing. Crap.

08/06/2001 | Zelazny's unique style of writing is just...oh, i dont know how to describe it..unique :) His novels are some nice compilation of fantastic&realistic, of philosophy&entertaining plots. All the Amber series are just great and his other books dont step down.
