Saw IV 4

This was a big bounce back from saw 3 and I thought this movie was well put together. In this saw movie a lot of twist and turns happen and finally there are endings to stuff that happened in the other movies. I have been a fan of the saw series for a number of years but saw 3 was a huge letdown so I felt it was key that they had a great movie here. In terms of the types of killings I liked them a lot better than the last movie. The opening scene was sick as one of the guys had his eyes sowed shut and the other had his mouth sowed shut. It drove them both to insanity and the guy with his mouth sowed shut killed the other guy. In another guy who had been molesting women was strapped to a bed and he had to feel there pain and all his body parts were detached. I think saw 2 had better plots but this one was the second best. As you see just because jigsaw died doesn't mean the saw series is over by any stretch in fact I would not be surprised if we see a total of ten of them because they always drag in money and have a such a low budget. I would recommend saw 4 to buy you will enjoy this movie if you have followed the series. I will give it a 4/5 stars for the DVD.

Saw IV 4

Saw III was passable, but luckily the Saw name has been redeemed here with Saw IV. The acting is fine, pretty typical and what you've come to expect from this series by now. The plot here really shines, patching up all of the things that were unexplained in Saw III (pretty much everything). It can border on convoluted but never quite crosses the line. There's lots of gore and torture as always, but i will admit it's getting to be pretty pretty repetitive at this point. I can tell that he director and script writers are starting to run out of ideas. Anyway, as I stated earlier is what I really appreciated in this iteration of the Saw series, so if story matters to you you'll most likely consider this to be one of the better movies in the series.

Saw IV 5

OK, so this is Saw IV. For a lot of fans of the first trilogy, it was the point where they drew the line. For haters of the Saw series, it was another thing to whine about. I'm a major fan of the series, and I couldn't care less if they go up to twenty sequels. As long as I enjoy the story, I will enjoy Saw.

Saw IV is the kind of film that if you don't pay attention, you will be left confused and lost. I only fully got everything on my second viewing. Mainly because of the three twists in the end that I'm not going t get into.

Yes, this is also the most, at least one of, violent and gore-filled of the series. The opening may leave you nauseous and revolted, but unlike those who have no life, I take time to comprehend it's just a movie.

But there's more to it than that, you see...in this film, through flashbacks, we see more of the portrait of Jigsaw, we see what his real rationale is over what he does, and events in his past evolved into what he is. I for one think the picture was painted very well. Unlike many people, I really liked this movie. No, not because of gore and violence, and not because Saw fans are sadists. But because I enjoyed the new characters and dialogue, as well as the backstory of John "Jigsaw" Kramer.

Several new characters find their place in the Saw limelight in this installment. We see more of SWAT officer Rigg, as the main character, and what his obsession with saving everyone and preventing those around him from making the wrong choices has done to his personal life, and what it will result in.

Plus we become better acquainted with--one of my FAVORITE characters now--Detective Mark Hoffman. And we're introduced to a new major antagonist, FBI Special Agent Peter Strahm. In finding the truth of what shaped Jigsaw, we meet his ex-wife Jill Tuck, and see what happend with her that shaped Jigsaw's work and philosophy. Several other cool new characters along the way, such as Art Blank and Agent Perez. Lots of questions brought up in Saw II (Widescreen Edition) and Saw III (Unrated Widescreen Edition) are put to rest in Saw IV. I shamelessly think this a great movie, and I shamelessly think Saw is a great franchise.

The reason this amazing series is popularized as being "torture porn" by the media is simple: if it bleeds, it leads. They know Saw is a unique and notorious franchise, and as D. Synder said "What better way to get attention than to go after an attention-getter?"

In closing, I honestly don't care what the majority says, I really like this movie. I don't care what people think. If they don't like it, they shouldn't see it. And nothing's going to change my mind about that, nor should I have any reason to change yours.

Saw IV 5

If you're familiar with the Saw franchise, then you should know by now that every Saw movie ends with a big surprise, and this movie is no exception. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Saw IV is probably the most fast-paced Saw movie to date. I was very surprised that they were able to keep the audience entertained, horrified, and on the edge of their seats at THIS late in the game. In my opinion, Saw IV is on par with Saw III, and is much better than the previous movies.

The fourth installment in the series introduces what may be at present a new trend for the Saw franchise - flashbacks. Plenty of flashbacks, all the while keeping to its roots of "testing" those "undeserving of the life they've been given." IV does a good job explaining events which led to John Kramer's eventual transformation into Jigsaw, as well as tying up any other loose ends left behind from previous films, most notably the ending of Saw II.

If you're a Saw fan, you should be pleased by this installment. If you're not a Saw fan, it's actually not a bad place to start. I know it's the fourth movie, but I felt like the fourth movie really summed up the previous movies quite nicely.

Saw IV 5

This was as good, if not better than the first three, and I can't wait until the next one comes out!
