i'm a canadian and although i'm not the biggest fan of Atwood's work, i respect what she's done, and i like how she's got the balls to say what she does. I kind of agree with her Survival thesis of Canadian Literature, i think she's an intelligent woman and a good writer, so she deserves a four.

I know it's virtually blasphemy for a Canadian to be critical of Margaret Atwood -- but I actively dislike her books and have stopped trying to see what the critics see in them.

Varies considerably from book to book - but "Handmaidens Tale" is still one the the scariest books I've ever read.
