 | Twitchin' Monkey (14) 02/11/2008 | i saw the previews and thought it would be another one of those dumb shows that i would be forced to hear dumb people talk about and see on the cover of every dumb magazine. but my dad actually sat me down to watch an episode and i was hooked. i've seen few tv dramas to rival this show. sure it keeps you guessing, but ya know, sometimes it's nice to not be spoon-fed all the answers and to actually put the good ole' brain to work.
UPDATE (2/11/07): Sooner or later we have to start getting answers, right? or are they going to keep answering our questions with more questions? Ever episode introduces a new twist or a new set of circumstances that you had no idea was coming. The writing for this show simply amazes me. How do they come up with this stuff? and it all hooks together. There's never really been a show that I simply could not wait for the next one, but these guys did it. Superb writing, superb acting, so far it's a masterpiece...lest they never give me any answers. haha

 | Limpin' Trenchfoot (16) 09/06/2007 | Too many characters, too many drawn out and obscure plots, moves along at a snail's pace. It might have been OK if the producers had condensed 24 episodes in each series down to 12 and got things moving a bit. All in all pretty dull fare.

 | Ben999 (10) 02/23/2007 | Very overrated. I’ve seen a couple episodes and it looks like the show is going no where. The writers seem to just be making up stupid sub plots to pass time.

 | lincolnsandcadillacs (4) 02/13/2007 | I don't know what the big deal about this show is. I just couldn't get "in" to it. Based on all those positive reviews I've been hearing, I decided to buy Season 1 on DVD. I kept watching, episode after episode, wondering when the good part will finally kick in. After watching the first 8 episodes, I don't think the good part will ever kick in. It seems like the same boring thing over and over again. These people are stuck on an island and are trying to survive. That's about it. For some reason, I do not feel any emotional attachment to the characters. They don't seem to have real personalities. It almost seems these actors are just going through the motions. I think I'll stick with Prison Break instead.

 | Bird808 (52) 12/11/2006 | I'm not giving "Lost" a five star yet as I'm only four episodes from watching the complete first season on DVD and haven't started on the second season as yet. I will say that from what I've seen so far from the first season this is a really good show. It's original, the characters are not perfect but all flawed in their own unique ways, the location - although disturbing to see the plane wreckage and dead bodies excusing this - is heaven and every week the series unravels something new for the audiences to think about.

 | fluffytuffy (2) 12/05/2006 | I hate to give this show a 2 stars as I used to just LOVE it but got SICK AND TIRED of all the re-runs, then the 'lets catch up' episodes, and then get 2 new episodes and then back to re-runs...sorry, if you want me to watch, then give me NEW shows, quit this crap about stopping the new shows in November and promise to start up again in Feb--I just might find something else on at that time to watch instead!! I mean, CSI was always in re-runs too, and I found another show to watch instead, that happens, and that is why shows fail in their later seasons!!

 | vetlee (1) 10/19/2006 | ABC's Lost is one of television's greatest series of all time. I shouldn't say this yet, since it hasn't ended, but I was captivated by the music, editing, acting, original story, and amazing scenery this show has to offer. The cinematography is highly professional and stunning. One thing I truly love about a film or TV show is if I can't predict it. Lost is one of those truly original series' that is seemingly unpredictable amid all the crap that is infesting Hollywood these days. It's nice to finally watch something new for a change.

 | 1SKEETER (1) 04/10/2006 | Cool. I will turn LOST on . GREAT show, lets see now. WHAT? something else is on. hmmm. Must have taken it off the air already. What? It is not on these week because of kids ball games are on or something. Hmm ok, different week, maybe it is back on. WHAT>? it is on a different night? Thrusday? Saturday? .........................................................................................................................................................
Oh hey, there is LOST on again, on Mondays ... COOL! Maybe I can catch up with the plot again. WHAT? A RERUN? A new show and reruns already?
This is one of the very few interesting shows on TV, unfortunately, it is on so inconsistantly that it is nearly impossible to follow the plot.
It is only idle entertainment, and not worth researching to find out if it is on this week and when, and to take time out of other things to watch it only to find out it is a rerun.
The fact this show is only on sporadically makes the best show on TV the worst, because a show being good is pointless if you got to jump through hoops to watch it.

 | delbomber (3) 03/19/2006 | Intriguing and captivating first season, this second season the writers are stalling too much and the network is truly trying fans' patience, having shown no more that three consecutive episodes since Thanksgiving. On DVD the latter will be forgotten, yet the slow progression of the plot and characters will not. One of the best hours on television, when it's actually showing a fresh airing.

 | Donovan (130) 02/27/2006 | EXCELLENT! One of the top shows on TV today. It is very well produced and far outshines most of the garbage on the tube of recent years. The most frustrating part about LOST is not the show but the producers/Network who keep showing reruns and the pilot over and over.

 | PzKpfw VI E (27) 02/16/2006 | In some cases, I feel as if the writers are simply going through the motions. Knowing that people well view week after week, there has been a lack of development in the second season (at least after the hatch was opened), from my point of view.
But, for the most part, in is an interesting concept, and an even most interesting discussion piece; talking about the hell is really going on.
We can't believe that these people are able to survive week after week if this is just some 'normal' island. Purgatory maybe? Some other instance.
In the end, the show is goood, but they are almost as good as the actually advertisements (or teasers) for the show, who have the ability to present the possible viewer with the thought that something huge occurs every weeek that rocks the island, when for the most part, that is not the case.
The viewer has to make a few more assumptions then should be acceptable, but it is still a show of high quality, almost week in and week out.

 | Rhapsody22 (12) 01/14/2006 | A superbly produced and acted show, it has proven completely addicting to millions of Americans. Shamefully I was one of them for the first season and still am if I can catch an episode(and still make sense of it.) The only thing I wonder is if the writers have any clue what they're doing or if they're just throwing confusing, maybe metaphorical, maybe meaningful nothings at us each week. What if they have no idea where the show is headed but we just gobble it up anyway? Oh well, regardless of my paranoia about that, it completely intrigues and entertains me.

 | justinlau_15 (0) 12/12/2005 | This is a great show, gripping and very exciting. It starts off with a plane crash with 48 survivors. There are 14 main characters and this show shows how the survivors try to survive on this island. As the show goes along, they start to find out mysteries and they realize that something is wrong with the island. It is very exciting to see the adventures of these characters as they find out what is happening on this island. There are also many flashbacks of the characters, which make the story much more interesting and intriguing. If you are not fond of mysteries without answers, don't watch it. At the end of season 1, there will still be many mysteries and questions that are not answered yet. Overall, I realy recommend this to you.

 | BATRON9 (0) 11/07/2005 | I was behind the curve on this show when it started because of other commitments on Wednesday nights, but I have tried to catch up and have enjoyed the process thoroughly. Like Alias, this requires patience for all of the mysteries to unfold. Unlike Alias, this show has found a large fan base. I don't quite know why that is, but this is a stellar show all the way around.

 | Masseyleerose (0) 05/11/2005 | I've watched this show, but it is becoming tiring. Why don't they form a society. Natives have hunters, foragers for edible plants. They should have more to do for survival, instead of fighting. Why doesn't Jack's hair grow? I hate short hair.

 | cutegurl (15) 04/13/2005 | Lost is a fabulous show. The many characters makes for lots of plot twists and character relationships. The flashback formula is genius. This show is not like any other show on television, and best of all, it's not reality. Lost isn't scared to be a little unrealistic for the sake of our entertainment. Matthew Fox does a fantastic job as Jack and the rest of the casting is brilliant. Well done, ABC.

 | stevepa03 (0) 03/16/2005 | Absolutely, positively one of the best shows ever to be on network television. 'Lost has you guessing whats going to happen next in every episode. This show has the tri-fecta when it comes to t.v. shows. Action(plane crash, jungle beasts), Comedy(Jorge Garcia's character Hurley)and Drama(just about every scene in the show). This show better stay around for a while

Plenty of surprises and I like how they reference back the the characters pasts. So long as they're able to keep us all guessing and dont give away they secret to the island, this show will be great.

 | Seraph (8) 12/09/2004 | Lost deserves an Emmy for the intensity of last night's episode. If you haven't seen it (and are planning to), stop reading right now because there's spoilers..............The storyline has been building up since the very beginning, and last night it nearly knocked me over. Claire (the pregnant lady) and Charlie had been kidnapped by a strange character named Ethan, and the castaways set out to find them. After hours of tracking, Jack thought he heard a scream and began following it uphill. He started to fall and finally slipped down a rock and took a hard fall. When he came to his senses, he saw Ethan standing over him, saying If you don't stop following me, I'll kill one of them. Jack tried to fight back, but Ethan struck him down and disappeared. When Kate came to his side, Jack began pressing on after him. The next scene was absolutely horrifying...Jack and Kate stumbled into the jungle to find Charlie hanging by a noose up in a tree. Kate climbed up and cut him down, and for the next few minutes, Jack performed CPR in an attempt to revive him while Kate sobbed uncontrollably and it looked hopeless. She begged him to stop, realizing Charlie was dead, but Jack just kept giving him mouth-to-mouth...and finally he gasped for breath. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, because we really felt like one of our favorite characters was dead...but it was a huge relief knowing he survived...It was probably the only time I've cried during a TV show.

 | Aurielle (18) 12/01/2004 | Absolutely fascinating. Lost is almost like an addictive substance -- once you start, it's terribly difficult to stop. The characters are interesting and believable and the mystery deepens with each episode. My favorite show right now!

 | bloop (0) 11/24/2004 | Captivating and original with twists and turns in every episode. You never know when you'll discover something new about a cast member and their past or present.Explanations for events, attitudes and actions can be very different from expectations and come at any moment.I find myself always wondering at every point what will come next and how it will fit into the complexity of the story lines.Somewhat suggestive of the technique used for 24 and equally captivating. Many unexplaned elements yet to be addressed and I'm really looking forward to how this is done.

 | opinion585 (0) 10/30/2004 | I think this show is great, it is really exciting and suspensfull and it keeps you guessing the whole time, i would have given it five except for one thing, the charecters are dropping like flies, and i dont mean by dying, but just by not being seen or mentioned, 1. The fat black lady who's husband died, 2. The whiny blonde girl that always argued with her husband 3. The pregnant girl. WHAT IS GOING ON????? WHY HAVENT THEY BEEN SEEN IN THE PAST FEW EPISODES?!?!?! ABC HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!
