Alan Rickman is hands down the hottest actor I have ever seen! I take that back, he is the hottest person I have ever seen, ever! They way that he uses that silky voice of his draws you into his characters. He has played everything from an evil bad guy, to a double agent, to the romantic lead, to a fish. Alan might seem like a actor who plays mostly villains, but his range of characters and talent at any role he takes on outstands everyone!

Classic 'good but not great' category. . .great Euro-villian in "Die Hard" (a film that isn't aging well) and of course any discourse concerning Rickman has to involve his memorable voice.  Solid supporting actor.

A consistently good actor who can play really bad bad guys ("Die Hard", whichever one it was, and the TV movie with Tom selleck in Australia) and the shy good guy type (Sense and Sensibility).  I have never been disappointed with any of his performances.

Always comes across as intelligent, urbane, and at least something of the quintessential villain; yet there is a diverse quality to him as well.

Perhaps under appreciated by the movie going public at large and maybe not the box office draw as the deniro's and pacino's, but a very solid actor. Good at being the bad guy, but also decent at being good.

He adds sex appeal to the slimy Professor Snape like no one else could. Dogma and Love Actually are two other examples of this master at his best.

One of my faves. Good at playing good guys, great at playing bad guys. Hans Grueber and the Sherriff of Nottingham come to mind as some of his best villains. I think he was qutie good in Dogma as the underappreciated voice of the Almighty. "Anytime somebody says that God has spoken to them, they're speaking of me... or they're talking to themselves."

Criminally underrated actor, always puts forth his best effort even when the movie in question is not all that good. Possesses a sinister voice. Probably best known for "Die Hard"and his role in the Harry Potter flicks, but he ought to be given more high profile roles IMO. He was particularly good as Eamon De Valera, the first president of the Republic of Ireland in "Michael Collins", though that film as a whole, while pretty good, was flawed by the ridiculous appearance of Julia Roberts!

For me is by far one of the most talented actors I have yet to see. He is...well...not very attractive, but the one thing about him that we all seem to agree on is the power of his voice. Pure sexiness. A quoute from a Alan Rickman fan: He'd make a killing with phone sex. Hmmm... And hey, lil_9571om - that is always the case, there're one or two buggers out there who come to the board merely to say HE SUCKS. Get a life!!! I love him as an actor, he's very talented and has charisma, but as a person I'm not so sure, even if he's obviously rather charming, has a melancholy voice... I mean, how come somebody reportedly so sensitive and so kind is not a vegetarian and doesn't seem to care about animals at all !? Really sensitive people are always vegetarian, or end up becoming so, and do care about animals, not only about people! There is so much to be done about animals, bad treatments and torture are usual, so why doesn't he try and do something ?...

i became a fan since seeing something the lord made He was excellent! He was Dr. Blalock. Since then I have seen all his movies. He IS the person he is portrating. He will get the emmy as well as SAG, golden globe for his portrayal. He was great in all his movies - even the bad ones- he was the only believable and perfect person in it. His accents are incredible!!!Too bad he has never won an Oscar - he should be in more american movies-- I always search to see if he is -what is hollywood afraid of him making our actors looking bad? I mean Really, a lot of the actors who one are not nearly the actor he is. Please get him to do more american movies. Harry Potter films do not show him enough. He needs to be the entire film - like something the lord made. I love him in all his films

I have only just discovered Alan Rickman in Truly madly deeply (an excellent film, but very sad, dont watch it if you are looking for a light-hearted cheery film...) He is THE most amazing, sexy, wonderful, handsome man in the universe. I have completely fallen in love with him! Adorable...

Superb. Comes thru the screen into your presence. Wonderful speaker. The camera is great for this guy. In Die Hard he was unmatched as a villain with some irony and humor - makes a great Nazi.

Gotta love Alan Rickman. He is one of the most delicious villains in film history. He was the only thing I liked about Die Hard (sorry Bruce, your cowboy act was kind of grating), and the only good thing about Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves. He is over-the-top without being too hammy. Unfortunately, he can be pretty bland in non-villain roles, and he looks uncomfortably restrained in the Harry Potter films (because he is kind of a villain, but not really). It sounds like a back-handed compliment when I say that he is brilliant at playing characters who are one-dimensionally wicked, but I assure you I have complete respect for the man and his approach to the craft.

Alan always displays a wide range of emotion in all his films! None cn compare to his acting ability! He is the greatest! I can hardly wait for his next movie to be released in U.S.

The wide range of characters Alan portrays is amazing. His performances leave you breathless and wanting more. His acting in Rasputin and Michael Collins, has even had my 15 year old watching them more than once. Whether it is comedy(blowdry) or evil villan(Die Hard or Robin Hood)you will want to see more of this man. His eyes are mezmerizing. He can heat up my screen anytime.

Alan Rickman is one of the best actors I've ever seen. He has bad films but NO BAD-MADE ROLE. A lot of people here (and not only here) have expressed their opinion about this man and I can support almost every of them. The only thing I wanna add is that he is a very expressive actor who never overplays (as many of his colleges do). He is a real scene stealer and I can't take my eyes of him even if he plays a small part.

A truly amazing actor who can handle any role and be totally different each time. He has had some great film roles (Truly Madly Deeply, Rasputin) and some that have not been so good, but in each film his talent always shines through. Perhaps best of all though is his presence and energy on stage, and kindness and charm in person.

Robin Hood was the only thing that he did that was worth watching.

One of the best actors I've ever seen. He was the only reson I sat through Robin Hood: Prince of Thives,and I loved him in Die Hard, Sense and Sensibility, and Galaxy Quest. He is a wonderful actor. I have to agree that he is one of the most wonderful, atractive, absolutely delightful actors ever.Though I do have to say he will never replace Val Kilmer as my all time favorite actor;but he is the only man that I think could hold a candle up to Val.I've only seen him in 2 movies but I loved them both.I saw Sense and Sensibility (why she picked Willoughby I will never know),and Galaxy Quest,and I am definetly going to see all the Harry Potter movies;but I have found through this section some movies that I have to see.But (and don't be mad at me) Val is still better. :)Update I saw Die Hard.That movie is exelant!!!!! :) Mikki
