He's awesome

Right now is one of the times that I wish I could write a really good review and not just my opinion. .... Morgan Freeman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors of all time. There is no way I can do justice to that statement right here on this website, but I know from watching movies, that this man is most definitely one of the most gifted actors who ever lived. Whether he is portraying Joe Clark or God or something less spectacular, he always, always gives you the feeling that you are actually experiencing that "character" and not just "watching" Morgan Freeman. This guy is most definitely one of the greats. For anyone who is reading this, if you want to check it out, "Google" Morgan Freeman - pick out any of his movies and just watch him in his "role". You will come back here and give him a 5. If you are reading this and just like good movies, he is in a lot of them. The mood I am in as I type this makes me suggest "Bruce Almighty"...but he is in so many good movies, you may as well take the same suggestion and just pick any of his - keep in mind, he is broad ranged and some are funnier than others - not to mention the action movies ("Outbreak" while old, is a good movie).

This man is Perfect! He is totally Gifted! I watch anything if hes in it!

Absolutely love him. I don't like every film he is in but he is old school and gives his all to every role.

I like Morgan but he isn't very versatile with his roles he's always playing the same person in almost every movie but he's an overall good actor.

One of the very few stars that doesn't give less than a stellar performance in any movie he's in. Shawshank, Miss Daisy, you name it. I found it funny though when someone told me that almost every character he's played is helping a white person. But hey, this man is top notch, one of the 5 best actors by far.

Great, great actor in everythng i've seen him in. He seems to draw you in somehow. Can play basically any character he is given superbly.

He's done alot of great work, but he is responsible for my favorite take on God in Bruce Almighty.

Absolutely one of the best ever! His role of "Red" in The Shawshank Redemption is my favorite. He can play a heavy as well as anyone also. Good watching for any aspiring actor!

Watching Freeman makes you feel wiser somehow. There's just something about him. That alone earns him 5 stars.

Morgan Freeman is undoubtedly a great actor whose mere presence can literally legitimize ANY movie. In looking at his career, however, anyone who can appreciate acting can appreciate his ability to play all kinds of characters. From his days as the Easy Reader on 'Electric Company' to his portrayal as fatherly-figure Sgt. Major John Rawlins, of the 54th Massachusetts Regiment in 'Glory', and anything within and beyond- Freeman is the epitomy of great acting.

Morgan Freeman can play any part that he or anyone wants him to. He is one of the greatest actors of our time and always will be.

Morgan Freeman is a serious actor who is long overdue for an Oscar. He has gravitas, that quality which exudes confidence and weight. When he's onscreen I am drawn right into his character. "Seven" was one of my favorites (he put Brad Pitt in the shade in that one) but Shawshank and Driving Miss Daisy were excellent. Actually, I've seen every movie he ever made, and there isn't a bad performance in any of them. If someone says they don't like Morgan Freeman then one has to wonder what sort of movies they DO like. If a movie critic is excited by "Dumb and Dumber" kind of movies they might not appreciate Morgan Freeman but any real movie buff will know what a powerhouse talent Freeman is.

Great actor. Plays alot of cop parts but does it well!!

He can play just about any role and do it extremely well. I especially loved him cast as Alex Cross. It's about time he won an Academy Award. It's long overdue IMO...

If Morgan's in it, I know here's a must-see movie. Love him!

Have loved him since he played Easy Reader on the Electric Company. His performance in Shawshank Redemption is one of my all-time favorites. It was nice to see him finally get the Oscar that he deserved for Shawshank, Driving Miss Daisy, Street Smart, and Glory.

a bit overrated i think. probably the best role i have seen him in was Sum of All Fears, a good movie not recognized by the masses.

I've never understood why he doesn't receives greater kudos. He can do quiet desperation and the wise man to perfection. Morgan can also draw wit from out of nowhere.

One of the best ever!! Superb in Shawshank and Glory. And you've got to love the job he did in Nurse Betty.

a great actor I have enjoyed seeing him in many movies. He was great in Shawshank Redemption, Driving Miss Daisy.He also has a good narrative voice. I am looking forward to Renting Million Dollar Baby. Iheard he was good in this movie.Quite the versatile actor.

Best roll Morgan Freeman played... The Easy Reader on the 70's kids show Electric Company

I always like this guy's roles, he puts passion into it every time.

He plays the same role no matter what movie he's in. I guess he thinks if he plays it long enough they'll let him drive the car without Miss Daisy. Oh well Morgan, you'll be able to look back on a prosperous but flat career. Your best work with with the Electric Company.

I like him. But I feel that there are just certain roles he is good in. And I feel as an actor you should be able to play any kind of character/emotion.

A truly remarkable actor, one who plays his roles so realistically. Definitely one of the best in the business!!!!! The first movie I saw him in was Glory, and he was brillant and continues to do so!!!!!

Morgan Freeman is a great actor who has been in several good movies, but to me and anyone else in their 30's,he will always be Easy Reader on the greatest kids show ever, The Electric Company.

Without a doubt one of the greatest actors around. Unfortunately he lost one star for starring in the ever dreadful DEEP IMPACT. What a horrific movie that was...and even Morgan Freeman couldn't pull it out of the gutter...

I love Morgan Freeman. His characters are always so serious. I loved him in Outbreak and Along Came A Spider.

Big, Big talent. The kind that takes your breath away. Awesome performances time and time again. This man is so gifted. I greatly admire his work.

No other man could play the role of God. Morgan Freeman is that perfect.

Morgan Freeman's greatest asset is his awesome screen presence. When he is on the screen, the audience has no choice but to be focused on HIM because of his sheer brilliance as an actor. It took Freeman nearly two decades to catch a break in Hollywood, and it finally came in 1989 when he got a substantial part in the Civil War film Glory. Freeman's performance was riveting, as he perfectly reflected the thoughts and passions of the African American soldier who was fighting for the freedom of his fellow man in the Civil War. A string of provocative thrillers (Kiss the Girls, Seven, and Along Came a Spider) are only part of an amazing resume. Freeman did a fantastic job in Amistad and Deep Impact. In the latter, he played the President of the United States, which I must say he did quite well. While having an African American president in a film would distract viewers in most cases, Freeman's brilliant acting ability and awesome screen presence makes us all color blind. More recently, Freeman has tried his hand at comedy, playing God in the 2003 comedy Bruce Almighty. Freeman did an exceptional job, but it is quite clear that Freeman's forte' is drama. In the final analysis, Morgan Freeman is a good actor who obviously chooses his roles carefully and executes them with passion and devotion.

Really great

Few actors can make every character they play believeable, and Freeman is one of them. He always lights up the screen yet does so in a subtle manner. One sign of a great screen actor is the skill of capturing the audience's eye. When I watch films like The Shawshank Redemption or Seven, it is Freeman who demands my attention, yet at the same time he is not obtrusive nor a scene-stealer. A simply great actor all around.

I like Morgan Freeman but I'm somewhat ambivalent about him. He's a terrific actor but most all of his really substantive roles, with the exception of Lean on Me, have been in supporting parts (Glory, Unforgiven, Se7en...). I'd love to see a great film built around his character. I don't know if he's done any stage work but I'd like to see him in a stage production as well.

Like Robert De Niro, he takes risks with his career by starring in bad movies sometimes, but he still is amazing. Why hasn't he won an Oscar yet?

One of my favorite actors; every role that I've seen him in was just perfect. I loved him in "Seven" and "Shawshank Redemption" especially. I'm a little skeptical about the new "Bruce Almighty" movie (Jim Carrey flick), but at least they casted a great actor to play God's role. Even if this movie bombs, he's still one of the better actors out there.

I like Morgan's work(s), but I certainly wouldn't put him in the top 5 of his lifetime. He has never really been the leading star in any of the great movies he did.

There is a very short list of actors that are of such incredible talent that I will see any movie they are in, just because I know their performances will always be outstanding. Morgan Freeman is at the head of that list. His performances are never overdone, never excessive, and always touching. He always seems to strike the right tone for the character or the situation. The fact that this man does not have an Oscar is an absolute crime.

Morg's got a good voice and decent skills, but #4? Nah. I'd say he barely makes top fifty.

He is natural and capable. he is one of the most underatted actor in business.
