OMG! If you haven't seen him in Ghost Rider, you should get it, it's fantastic!! LOVE that one!! Also "City of Angels', & "Raising Arizona"! Both mesmerizing! Nicholas Cage reminds me a bit of Kevin Costner, who I just think is awesome & I totally can respect them. They have a lot of similarities....except Cage seems more sociable. Another guy who is concerned of his reputation...which is justifiable and attractive! I find Nicholas Cage to be highly dedicated, willful, creative & productive, diplomatic & adaptable, and courageous. I love his drive for achievement and it is no surprise of his success!

Cage has a reputation for being a bit wild, if not outright crazy.  I can see it it some of his films.  His performance in "Moonstruck" was great (it shows a bit of his crazy side), and "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" was a pretty good role as well.

Never really got the appeal of this guy.

Did you ever notice he gets his butt kicked in most of his movies? Kinda weird. Anyway, he hasn't been good in a while. Mostly annoying.

He comes in catagories of unsung heros and very under rated actor,for me he is exceptionally well.

Cage is one of the best there is. He's captivating in every film I've seen him in: "The Rock", "The Family Man", "Con Air", "Raising Arizona", "National Treasure", "Vampire's Kiss", "Faceoff" and I'm sure I missed some. He was great in all of them.

Emberrasing to watch!!!! He is by far the most over-rated actor in Hollywood's history. An Oscar!!!!! The Academy should hide in disgrace over that choice. He is exactly the same in every single role. He does not act .... and he gets credit for being "zany" ... that's not acting, that is just his ridiculously awkward personality. Should be shunned from Holloywood and banned from making any further movies. Thoroughly un-enjoyable actor. For those of you who think he is a good actor, all I ask is that you watch him in Fire Birds. It is a laughably bad performance.

I should rate him higher because I think he's way above the material he's been choosing of late. Perhaps once he's stashed away enough cash from his block buster phase he'll get back to making movies that give you something to talk about after you leave the theatre.

he had a winning streak of good movies but he seems to fallen out of the spotlight. raising arizona was the 1st movie i seen him and it was pretty funny though he has ventured more to acting in action and more serious movies

I think this is an actor who falls under the overrated category. I do not remember one movie where he was outstanding. He is always outshined by all other actors in the movies, but yet he still manages to get decent offers. I just can't take his acting. It is flat.

Nick may not have the dashing Hollywood looks, but he's definetely got the talent. I watched Nathional Treasure, and just his attitude is aweseom. He can really act, and his smile is hilarious.

Two good performances: Leaving Las Vegas and Valley Girl and every other character can be found somewhere in between (but askew of its intended target). He simply has no REAL emotional range and probably can't define character arc (nor can most people who enjoy him).

I can't believe how high up this guy is. He sucks!!!! If it hadn't been for his supporting cast of beautiful cars, Gone in 60 Seconds would have been a terrible movie. Thank God for Eleanor.

I’ve enjoyed several movies that this actor has starred in as well as watched him on various interviews. I have to agree with other who have stated that he has this stare that seems to reach inside of you and make you genuinely feel he is the character he is portraying. Great actor indeed.

Since becoming a fan, I've grown to admire both Nicolas Cage the actor and Nicolas Cage the man. He gives of himself in a way that makes you KNOW that he loves what he does. I've also come to realize what an honorable and kind man he is in both his public and private life, and these are qualities that are high on my list! <grin> He also fits elsewhere on that list - under "SEXINESS"..he exudes it from every pore. No matter what he is in, Nicholas Cage always delivers a first class performance to the audience. His best role to date earned him an Oscar: "Leaving Las Vegas". That film was probably his breakthrough role. He has a lot of range, playing in romantic comedies such as "The Family Man", romances like "City of Angels" and action films like "Face/Off". He is a gifted actor whose career is just going to get better.

Thought his best role was in "Leaving Las Vegas" (can you believe that movie is not on any list here at Rate it All?). Nicolas is an extremely talented actor and can do anything from serious to comedy. Also loved him in Moonstruck.

I'm an avid movie fan, and if there's one actor that makes me want to upchuck it's this guy. I'd rather watch a Pauly Shore flick than one of his.

I first saw Nicholas Cage back in the late 80’s in Raising Arizona. Since then I have continued to marvel at his range as an actor. He can do funny, insane, sexy, intelligent and dippy - all believably and all in one film. I have never been able to explain his smoldering sex appeal to someone who didn’t already see it – but it’s definitely there for me and I think it has quite a lot to do with that piercing gaze that seems to look directly into the soul. That may be acting but with him it many times borders on a kind of visual poetry. So it would be safe to say that Nicky Cage has my personal vote as one of the most gifted actors of our day. I still don’t get the Lisa Marie thing - but hey, in the cold light of day, apparently neither did they.

Overrated..

He's pretty good considering that he's had some wierd projects (Wild At Heart, 8mm) but he's never a dull moment.

I have enjoyed all of Nicolas's movies. I especially love it when he plays a tough guy, and also a sensitive one as well.
