A very versatile actor. I have enjoyed his performances in every film I've seen thus far. Good looks don't hurt either.

Good actor, but a bit of a cold fish. His warmest performance being Voldermort in the Harry Potter films!

This gifted actor took my breath away as Amon Goeth in Schindler's List...What a stunningly handsome and merciless psychopath! I couldn't take my eyes off him. And once again, as Charles Van Doren in Quiz Show! He's good.

Ralph Fiennes jest niesamowicie przystojny, utalentowany, sexowny, ma zniewalajace spojrzenie (ach te oczy...;)) i aksamitny glos (melodia dla mych uszy ;):), a kiedy go ogladam i slucham to sie rozplywam! Ech ;)

His performance alone is a 5 star rating. Ralph Fiennes just has the range to play any kind of emotion. That is rare in Hollywood. He is way underrated. He was also great in The English Patient.

He knows everything about acting, from sophisticated comedy (MIM), through English Lover(TEP), horror (TRD), historical potrait of a monster (Schindler's List), romantic heroes (Heathcliff, Onyegin)to disillusioned modern intellectuals (Van Doren, Lenny Nero) to the top of his carrier up to now (Spider), It would be good to see him on film in classic roles (Hamlet, Peer Gynt, Richard III) too.

I hate him to!!!!!!! Uh.....

Good actor, bad name. It's RALPH as in RALLLFFF. R-A-L-P-H, that spells Ralph. Ph is pronounced as the letter f. It sounds like eff. His name is Rrralph. Not Raif. Not Rayf. Not Rayfe. Not Rolf. It's Ralph. Stop trying to sound so Hollywood, Ralph. Ah, I've recently been informed that in jolly old England Ralph's name is, indeed, pronounced Rafe. Hmm, well, here in the stereotypical States Ralph is a fairly working-class name. I can just picture the scene when King Ralph bellies up to the bowling alley bar in downtown Milwaukee & say's to his buddies my name is Rafe from now on. Not a pretty scene...but one I'm sure that Mr. Feiness could pull off convincingly. He is a fine actor.

He's British, he can act and he's hot... Wouldn't mind being alone in a room with him .... Need I say more?

I really enjoyed Ralph Fiennes in Maid in Manhatten...I thought he had great screen chemistry with J-Lo, no matter how bad the writers tried to ruin it. I hope to see more of him in the future. A talent that should not be wasted...

Ralph Fiennes is the cutest, greatest and best performing actor. I really don't know what i can say. He is just INCREDIBLE!
Rfiennesgirl 11/08/2003
Ralph Fiennes is the best actor around. He has a certain charm about him , not to mention he is absolutely gorgeous!!! His best film I would have to say was The English Patient. I respect him as an actor and I wish I could meet him some day.
Mystie 09/03/2003
Yummy! I love Him in The English Patient, Wuthering Heights, Strange Days, The end of the Affair, Schindler's list, SunShine and Quiz Show. He will win an *OSCAR* someday SOON!

Lust..talent and looks. He should be in the top ten.

I like him, but I think he's a little overrated. Wish he'd get some better roles.
catelli 06/24/2003
Il est tout simplement merveilleux. L'un des acteurs au talent multiple et doté d'une capacité à interpréter différents personnages avec une facilité déconcertante. Son talent l'a propulsé parmi les plus grands acteurs de sa génération.

Very sexy and talented. Played a Nazi officer so well and did a great job in Red Dragon. He's very interesting

Ralph is a beautiful person and actor. I can't get enough of his work. He is spectacular in all his movies and can only image how wonderful he is in the theater. His acting abilities are incredible (with his voice, accents, expressions, etc.). He is mesmerizing (especially with those eyes). He is my dream man.
kann 05/24/2003
I had never heard of Ralph Fiennes until I saw Schindler's List. That has got to be one of the best film performances of all time. He's very easy on the eyes, too! I just think he's the best actor around right now.
Saltydog 05/01/2003
He plays a virulent, sadistic Nazi in Schindler's list, and then a jewish judge in "Sunshine." He can play everything ranging from a bottom dwelling creep, to a sophisticated aristocrat. I like this guy...he is good.
maggiemay 04/30/2003
Ralph your eyes are just dreamy. Love your air of confidence & voice. Maid in Manhattan was enjoyable for an old gal like me!!
NightShade 04/23/2003
Along with being one of the most attractive current actors out there, this man is able to play several different types of characters without any hardship. One only needs to watch Sunshine to realize his abilities. Playing a madman in Schindler's List, an intelligent rich son in Quiz Show, a deranged serial killer in Red Dragon. Casting him as the lead/main squeeze in a movie with J-Lo was both an insult and the most horrible thing that anyone has done. Making such an actor 'dumb down' to create a doomed flick is seriously wrong. If the movie does in fact turn out to be good, it is his part alone that does it. As a hater of 'chick flicks', the way he played in English Patient made me like it immensly. That is quite hard to do since most chick flicks make me want to hurl.
VivFitti 04/19/2003
Besides being extremely handsome, he is intellectual and chooses his plays and films quite carefully. I´ve lived in London for about 4 years, but unfortunately had never had the chance and pleasure to see him perform on stage. I do hope one day he comes down here to Brazil to give us the honor of his presence in South America. May be he would like to film " Made in Brazil", having ME as his partner...
valerian3 03/31/2003
Oh mercy! What can I say? I will admit that the face caught my eye first and then I saw one of his films...and the man is brilliant! There is no one, and I mean NO ONE that compares to him. He can play such a wide range of characters with such ease. He's so fun to watch! I find myself watching his films over and over and catching something new each time. I love to hear his voice...that accent! Whew! I could melt! He has a way of looking at his female leads that just makes you want to get naked with him! I love the subtle facial expressions he uses and those eyes...they're the sexiest on Earth. In "Maid In Manhattan" when he tells JLo she should have worn a different dress made my heart almost jump out of my skin. Did you notice the little movement he made with his mouth then? Oh God! Okay, I know I'm gushing, but he's the most beautiful man in the world! My husband has been warned. If Ralph ever shows up, I'm out the door (without even packing a suitcase).
Ralph_nathanie l 03/27/2003
he is so handsome and really really good... Ü He has this really heart warming voice, this charming smile and those eyes.. it's really killing me! And when i see his pictures,it's like he's staring at me.. and his eyes ar eally like sparkling diamonds.Ü I first saw him in Quiz Show.. Charles Van Doren...Ü Then in The English Patient, he was really fantastic there. Ü Then The End of the Affair. I really really got jealous of Julianne Moore cos ralph touched her like she was her real lover and kissed her passionately! That movie really made me jealous!Ü I watched Schindler's list and he was handsome there but my gosh his weight! It's okay! He's the best! not really.. but for me he is!Ü
Neroli 03/14/2003
Behind Ed Norton, the best actor churning 'em out recently. Great in Schindler (should've won the Oscar), Quiz Show, English Patient, End of the Affair. Very good in Red Dragon.
callmetootie 01/13/2003
As a dramatic actor, he is truly gifted, and gives amazing performances. Sadly, he's been doing some comedy here and there which isn't all that impressive...
yellow85 12/30/2002
Ralph Fiennes is so beutiful! He is a great actor and I have yet to see him in a bad film. I'm mean who else could go from being a horrible crazy killer in Red Dragon to the sweet charming gentelman in Maid in Manhattan??? No else? Thats what i thought! I LOVE YOU RALPH!!!!!
Chrysanthemum 12/25/2002
I absolutely adore Ralph Fiennes. His entire performance in "The English Patient" is plainly brilliant. Its for that performance alone that I give him this rating. He WAS the movie. I can't even describe how moved I was by him. Its one of the greatest films, that one. And he deserves every bit of acclaim he gets for his talent.
v the final battle 11/22/2002
not quite five star level yet but almost there. played the role of amon goth so well in schindlers list that its hard to not stil see him as goth while playing other completely different roles. his van doran role in quiz show was really great as well. forget hannibal lecter this guy in my opinion played the scariest villain of all time on the big screen(and true life one at that)on schlindlers list. look forward to seeing him in other diverse films. think he would be great playing a younger grand moff tarkin in star wars episode 3
Jason1972 10/22/2002
He really is not a bad actor but he shouldn't be this high above Spacey, Deniro, Pacino, and Connery, that's my only beef.

My favorite is The End of the Affair. It was much better than the earlier version of the book as a film.
cathyE 10/08/2002
Beautiful actor. Unfortunately, he doesn't get the exposure his work warrants.
leviathan62 10/08/2002
Maybe he hasn't won an Oscar, but his Oscar won me.
AngelaB 10/08/2002
Some may say he is,"...one of the best British actors..." Others may simply contribute their affection for Mr. Fiennes to his physical attributes. I don't disagree with these two impressions; however, Mr. Ralph Fiennes is one of the BEST ACTORS, be he British or Ethiopian, alive, and he would still be appealing to the discriminating play/film-goer if he had a visage such as that of the burned man he once portrayed. For those of us who are unable to see him on stage, I can only hope that, in the years to come, he continues to provide many more inspiring screen appearances. I would especially recommend Onegin, The English Patient, and Oscar and Lucinda.

Mr.Ralph Fiennes is an excellent actor, so versatile and talented that he can be adorable like in Oscar and Lucinda either hateful like in Schindler's List. I love his voice and how he make sound the words and phrases. He's one of the best performers I have ever seen.
charlene powell 10/12/2001
Ralph Fiennes has evolved an immpecable technical poise, evidenced in a ever intriqing body of work. Respect is deserved. It is , moreover, the rare quality of one who acts by transcending word, gesture, and expression of face and eyes; one who by the very media of self may move conciousness from the universal source of human thought and emotion into a clarity for the senses. Ralph Fiennes here, is gifted.
mammacita 10/11/2001
English is not my native language, so I can't explain it the way I would like to. And I think the important things about him have already been mentioned. So all I can say is that I watched all the films from Schindler's list to Quiz Show and I can say he's got an enormous karma. And even if you just watch him and listen to his voice, I think you can feel it. I think he's not only a great actor but also a special guy.

I first found Ralph Fiennes in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Thomas Keneally's novel "Schindler's List." Ralph Fiennes was nominated for Supporting Actor for his role as Amon Goeth the sadistic concentration camp commander. Ralph(pronounced Rafe) managed not only to embody the evil of the Nazi party, but also infuse the character with a strange, and intoxicating, charisma. Indeed, this performance allowed the audience to understand, at least a little, to why people followed the Nazi propaganda machine. This was far and away the best performance of 1993 for which he garnered several awards including the British academy award for best supporting actor along with awards from the National board of review. Fiennes followed the role with Quiz Show and Strange Days - both were critical success'(The latter becoming somewhat of a cult film) and gave the audience 2 new wildly different characters. Both Roles proved that Fiennes could stretch beyond the sadist. Then Came The English Patient, a sprawling epic that again allowed Fiennes to play a different character and stretch his acting muscle in an entirely different manner. The Critical success of the film catupulted him into the Intelligent Woman's leading Man Status. The beautiful Oscar and Lucinda opened up late in 1997 and seem to have been missed by audiences and many critics. None the less Fiennes portrayed Oscar Hopkins...a misfit with a gambling addiction who falls in love with Lucinda Leplastrier(Cate Blanchett). Again, the performance took Fiennes in a new direction allowing him to drop, for the time being, the rugged leading man image. He suffered a blow in the film remake of the hit British series "The Avengers". Thi time playing the famed John Steed. The disasterous film flopped, but Fiennes' performance came out unscathed. This would allow his name to come up in future discussions to be the next James Bond. This alone is a remarkeable compliment considering the horrendous failure of "The Avengers." Then came the Re-Make of the Graham Greene novel "The End of the Affair." Fieenes takes on the role of a brooding writer that can not get over his love for his friends wife. A very underrated performance that none the less received acclaim in Britain. In Sunshine, Ralph played three men through 3 generations of the Sonnenszhein(SP?) Family. Fiennes won the best actor award(in Europe) for his performance in this beautiful Canadian-Hungarian epic spanning more than 50 years of this Hungarian/Jewish family. Ralph Fiennes is simply one of the world's Fiennest actors. Like Anthony Hopkins, Fiennes can dissapear in the character...and can not be typcast. And I have not even got to his strength...The Stage where he has won so many best actor awards he probably needs another house to put them in.
