I think he has done enough (500 homers, back-to-back 56 HR seasons, and an MVP award) to get into the Hall of Fame, but his career will be one of What ifs? What if he hadn't got hurt so much in the past 5 years? What if he stayed in Seattle and played for that great 2001 team? What if he never makes it to the World Series? He is a great defensive outfielder -- one of the best.

He would have been one of the all-time greats if he could have stayed healthy. If he gets it going again he could reach 4-star material.

Number not all in - he stays heathy - top 30

This is crazy! He's not even the best player of the 90's. Go look at the stats...The Sporting News & I agree that Barry Bonds is the best of his era. And A-Rod is already better than Griffey was supposed to be. Griffey's numbers have steadily declined over the last four or five years. He has benefitted from a golden image, but now people look at him realistically since he showed his A@# on the way to the Reds. He's not the best of his era...how can he be in the top 20 of all-time?

Too bad the Kid will forever be known as a whiner that ditched the town that so dearly loved him, Seattle, on bad terms. He did many great things for the city though and I'll never forget when he scored on Edgar's double to beat the Yankees to win Game 5 in the '95 Playoffs. But his selfish attitude and slacker approach towards the game will keep him from reaching 700 career home runs, well short of Aaron's record. I wanted to give him a 4, but think that's too low, so I gave him a 5. Can we vote for a 4.5?

He is a great batter and probably one of the best center fielders.

Ken Griffey has been my all-time favorite baseball player since birth, the best outfielder in the history of the game, and his hitting isn't too bad either.

Too much is made of him. Not healthy enough and has not played long anough to be considered among the best. Givr him ten more years.

I feel he'll be one of the best when he's done, but he is still young. We can't say yet if he is one of the best ever.

Would be considered the best of all time if he played in New York City.
dabl3216om 12/17/1999
Probably one of the greatest of all time.
skap3186du 12/15/1999
Could be the best ever. Also has potential to break all time home-run record.

Yea, he's good and great and all, but he just is not up there with the all time greatest players. He's good. He might even be competitive for "Player of the 90s," but he has a way to go before he makes any all time list.

Junior is gonna break Aaron's all-time record.

Best all around player today but it better not go to his head. Asking to be traded closer to home??? Diminishes his stock.

What can he not do? He hits for power, average, and is a gold glove defensive player. If he plays long enough could break all time home run record.
