I used to watch Days when I was in highschool. Then I stopped when they started with all the crazy alien stuff. Now, when I turn on Days, I can't stand to watch bc of how thin "Hope" looks! What is going on? I also watch The Young and the Restless and I am amazed how all the ladies look the same, even after 15 years!

Very sad indeed. Kristian was 19 when she appeared on the show about 1983-85. She was very pretty, nice weight, and very lively. Now she looks too scrawny and tired. It's kinda sad, older characters who are still on the show, who were in their 30's, 40's and even 50's still look like they did back in 85. Stephano DiMera, Tony DiMera, Marlena Brady, Steve Patch Johnson, John Black, Kayla Brady, and Victor Kiriakis(lil grayer hair, now) all look very much the same. Kristian.. Hope sadly looks the same age, if not, older than her older castmates.

so i am still looking for the reason why kristian alfonso looks so emaciated. it appears she has facial atrophy. some of the posts say she may have anorexia but perhaps that is not what is wrong with her. does anyone know for sure. i also have been watching days since i was 19 yrs old, i am now 47 and @ one time use to think hope was exceptionally beautiful. i had to internet search photos of her to show my husband how she once looked, because he did not believe that she could be beautiful. is she ill?

It makes me so mad how people say that about her but they dont even know if she does then yeah she could get help but if she doesnt just leave her alone.  I mean seriously everyone just needs to leave her alone shes not the only star who is really skinny.

I am so worried that Kristian is going to collapse from anorexia. she is so thin that her eyes protrude and every bone in her face is visible - ad thats to say nothing of her neck and clavicle area. Costumers keep putting her in billowy peasant blouses but even they can't hide her emaciated arms. And has anyone noticed that anytime Hope is supposedto be eating on screen (like ice cream) she only pretends to eat it? Its obviously real because I recall a scene with Jennifer and Hope on the couch together eating ice cream and Jennifer was actually eating it - you could tell. Hope however put the spoon near her lip, gave it the tiniest of licks, and then played with the spoon for the next five minutes. It was so disturbing, especially when she laugngly joked with Jennifer about 'gorging' herself - please. Please Kristian, your friends, family and fans all care about you. Get the help you need! I really wish DOOL producers would get a clue and force her to gain twenty pounds. She'd look and feel so much better.

As I see here on this message board, it seems to be (at least off and on) for the past 8 yrs.,the people's question - just like my own - if Kristian Alfonso has an eating disorder or any other health problem. Since she wasn't always that painfully skinny. - It would be great if she could come forward about it and that the network would get behind her to get treatment and time off, from her "character/hope/job" so she can get better. That's at least my opinion as so many others seem to wonder the same, if she is struggling with anorexia or what else.

After watching her on 8.7.08, I was very sad because I remember her from the beginning, those good old days when she was vibrant and voluptuous. Her face now, quite literally, has no fat left in it. It's stretched taut and looks like paper. Her eyes look huge and sunken from the lack of normal flesh in her face. I'm amazed that no one at NBC has intervened. I suggest someone does before it's too late. Big Hug Kristian.

Kristian definitely appears to be anorexic. I hope she gets help soon; it could even be worked in the storyline.

I feel bad b/c Hope WAS the most beautiful woman on t.v. Now she looks like the Cript Keeper. It's hard to look at her these days so I wish they would pull her off until she gets the help she needs. This is crazy.

I totally love Bo & Hope -- I have for years. But I haven't watched the show for about 2 years until today. YIKES! WHAT A SHOCK! Gorgeous Kristian Alfonso looks like a skeleton! Is she sick? She seems very ill -- or is she suffering from an eating disorder? It's painful to watch such a lovely, strong woman waste away...

I really hope the show producers are going to try to find some way to help Kristian. She not only needs to look after her own health but her body shows obvious signs of an eating disorder. I'm afraid that allowing her to continue acting on the show in this type of state might fuel the growing number of girls who suffer from eating disorders these days.
I use to suffer from an eating disorder and I only pray for her to have strength to overcome this awful disease!

Wow! I just turned on Days after not seeing it for many months...what is wrong with Hope? I know she has always been really thin but my God! She looks scary! Her face is so sunken and her chest-you can see all the bones protruding. Does anyone know if she is sick? Anorexia?

I've watched Days since Hope was a teenager. I have never been all that excited about the character. I would think that if Kristian Alfonso was a better actress, that by now at least I would like the character more... Yes she is beautiful - but oh well...

Kristian is beautiful. She had a special, warm beauty when she was the voluptous Hope. Do the producers insist on the skeletal look?

I agree about the comments made about the physical transformation Kristen Alfonso has gone through - and unfortuntely, not for the better. Eating disorders seems to be rampant to one degree for soap actresses. Kristen was very lovely and had taken on modeling after injuring her knee and retiring from pursuing figure skating to a professional level. As far a soap actresses go she is average in ability and was above average in appearance before her dwindling to an emaciated woman.

I love Kristian and Hope to pieces! How can you not? She is so funny and sweet. She has the beauty and talent that we all want, but Robin Christopher will always be the best.

Since Kristian Alfonso started on DAYS over twenty years ago, she has consistently been one of the best actors on the show. She IS Hope Brady and no one else could fill this role. Even when the storylines are lacking, she brings such warmth to this character.

Could she be any thinner???? The little mole on her chin is a bit distracting. On the up side, her chemistry with Bo is as great as always, and she's been on the show for so long that I'd never want anyone to replace her.

What happened to this woman? I never saw this soap until long after she re-joined the cast, but the constant flashbacks they do pointed out the very severe physical changes she’s gone through since her early days. She was absolutely gorgeous in the beginning. Now, she looks like a half-plucked chicken – just a shadow of her former self. Her acting is decent and seems to work well for her in the soap world. But she really needs to put on a couple of pounds and fill out that skinny face. Oh, and this is not her fault of course, but the DOL writers really need to dump this Princess Gina thing. I hadn’t watched in about 3 years and caught it a few times while convalescing this fall – I could not believe they were still using that tired old story line!

Kristian is amazingly talented and so beautiful. I wish she and PR were on a show worthy of their awesome chemistry instead of the miserable show that is Days of Our Lives. Tom Langan has destroyed Hope with this stupid Princess Gina and JOPE crap.

She is absolutely gorgeous and perfect in her role as Hope. The intensity of her acting is pitched perfectly for 'days of Our Lives' yet she is also capable of pulling off different roles in vastly different genres and methods of working. She is amazing and so unbelievably beautiful!

Kristian Alfonso needs a storyline that is worth her talet. She can not show her true talent with the crazy storylines she is given. What was "Princess Gina??" If she was on General Hospital or One Life To Live she may get a storyline that would be worth her time. When her contract is up she might want to think about going somewhere where she could shine.
