Quite frankly, it's a two way street. I don't see any reason why people can't take turns paying for each other's meal. This is the twenty first century.

Well I am all for splitting things 50/50,but at least offer to pay! Yes this would be a red flag!

I'm kind of old fashioned about this, but if a guy doesn't offer to pay my meal on a first date, it's a sign to me that he is not very generous or gallant.
