Racquetball is all of the above comments and more. It is fast paced and a great workout, but to be good also takes a great deal of ball control, stratagy, fast thinking, quick reaction and anticipation. So as your physical skills increase your reaction times and anticipation increase, so it is a work out for the mind and body.

A very intense game and a great workout. It is also fairly easy to learn.

Racquetball is a great sport for anyone to enjoy. Age, gender, body type, skill level, it doesn't matter. Anyone can play and have fun while getting an excellent workout. There is even a pro tour for both men and women, the IRT for men and LPRA for women. If you ever get a chance to see these men and women play you will be amazed at the level of racquetball that is played. Check out ESPN2 I believe, on Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. for 1 hour of Racquetball action filmed at the U.S.Open Racquetball Championships this past November in Memphis, TN. If you have never played the sport before, it isn't too late...and you are definately missing out. You will definately get an ab workout through all the laughter...don't be afraid to laugh at yourself or your opponent...Have fun!!! Oh yea, did you know even Elvis had a racquetball court in his house in Graceland...he too was a fan of the sport. Check out these websites: www.irt-tourn.com www.lpra.com ... www.usra.org ... www.ektelon.com ...

It's a fun sport, doesn't require a lot of agility. Great summer backyard game, especially.

I am so uncoordinated that the ball hit me more times then I hit it. It was fun though. I laughed the whole time and had a great time.

Racquetball is great because anyone can play it at any level; there aren't a ton of rules and it can be fun even the first time trying it. I remember my first time playing it I just laughed my behind off! As I and my partner progressed, it became a great way to get an incredible aerobic workout without even realizing because you're having so much fun. As a comparison to tennis: it's a much faster game than tennis because the playing area is so much smaller, and you never have to go chase balls! Oh, and as an aside for Eric, racquetball is pretty much the same thing as squash except it uses a little bit larger racket and ball and the court is a little bit different in size (bigger I think??)

For me it seems like this sport is the same as we're calling "squash" in Norway. If so, this is a five star sport! It's at least a thousand times funnier than the so called "similar" sport tennis: I hate tennis, but love squash! My advice to everyone who hasn't tried it yet: Try it now! :-)

I'm giving racquetball five stars because it's fun to play, not because it's a top sport. I don't think I've ever seen it on TV, and I couldn't name a single professional racquetball player, so I certainly admit it's not on the same level as major sports like football, basketball, or baseball. But what a great way to get exercise, whether you're a beginner or a long-time player. There's something satisfying about smacking the ball as hard as you can - it's a great way to get rid of tension. And unlike tennis, you're not always chasing stray balls.
