Nora Roberts frustrates me. On the one hand, she has an amazing ability to get convincingly up to speed on an astounding array of topics. Her stories are memorable (even though I've read probably 25 of them, dating back at least a year or two, I can still recall many). And the series, especially, can be quite good--the "Key of..." series was my favorite, I adore all of the witches ones, the Garden series was good, and the "Born in..." But on the other hand, if you do read a lot of her books, she tends to start repeating turns of phrase (e.g., "same goes,") which I personally find annoying. But, more of a problem for me, all of her heroines seem to have effortless multiple orgasms with very little apparent stimulation! (paraphrasing: "she slipped over the next peak"). Arghh! How many women in real life actually HAVE multiple orgasms? We wish! Especially without oral sex, which she never includes. ;-) I've stopped reading her because so many other romance writers do a much better and more believable job in the bedroom. On my personal rating scale, she gets a 6 out of 10. (I only read 7's and above).

Nora Roberts is an amazing author. Her books are well written and actually have a point; they are not just about sex. I am a complete book finatic, and have read something from almost all of the authors on theis list. Nora Roberts is definately the best!

Nora Roberts got her start writing with Silhouette/Harlequin, and her early books were such a success that she went on to become recognized as one of romance's great writers. I have read some of her earliest books, starting with Irish Thoroughbred, and have enjoyed a few of her later Highland series novels, but for the most part, in recent years, I have steered clear of her work. While Ms. Roberts is a very thorough, well-written author, there is also something almost impersonal about the way she presents her characters. There have even been a few of her books where I had the distinct impression that she had to "make" the imaginary relationship pull together at the end...much like forcing a piece of puzzle fit where it doesn't actually belong. Had those characters been a real-to-life, thinking, breathing couple, the romance probably never would have taken place, and even if it had, it certainly wouldn't have lasted. Overall, her books are good if you are looking for something to read to pass the time. I do not recommend them, however, if you are looking for a breathtaking romance.

I have read several of Ms. Roberts' books - I have never been disappointed. She always whisks me off to a decidedly much more interesting world than my own!

Nora Roberts is an absolutely phenomenal story teller. Whether writing as Nora Roberts or as J.D. Robb, she delivers an eloquent tale of drama, romance, and suspense. It is easy to get hooked, and I must admit I have hunted down and read all of her 100+ books! It was well worth the effort! In fact, I am more than eager for more! She is the best!

Nora (a.k.a. J.D. Robb) is an exceptionally talented writer. Suspense, intrigue, romance...who could ask for more? I highly recommend the "In Death" series under her pen name J.D. Robb!

I have just recently discovered Nora Roberts. I love the way she writes. She is very detailed in her writing which makes it very easy for me to get lost in her stories.

A really excellent story teller. She's written 100+ books (I think most are Harlequin Romances), and I think her "real" books are much better than all her early Harlequins.
