The fact she's so hot  you cant take you eyes off the screen is enough. That kind of quality supersedes acting ability.

Don't really know her

I know she played Padme in the I, II, & III Starwars potboilers, but I can't think what else she did. She is easy to watch.

She is a great actress, who has a lot more potential, shes just starting out. Nat was very awesome in V for Vendetta. All of you who havent seen it yet, go check it out, its one of my fav. movies.

Great actress and great talent. Humble, intelligent, very attractive. Keeps a low profile and genuinely like her work.

She will continue to get better and better and will become a classic, after many of the glitter girls of today have faded. It helps when you have brains as well as beauty, and a self-deprecating sense of humor

Experienced and permanently improving, depending on the vehicle, script or the director, of course; in director Luc Besson's stunnning 'The Professional' (1994), at age twelve or so, Portman stole the show from even Gary Oldman and in Mike Nichols' riveting 'Closer' (2004), not Clive Owen, Jude Law or Julia Roberts could best her.

Booooooring!!! I've seen chairs with more acting ability. Kind of cute but that vacuum in place of a personality ruins it.

Liked her in Star Wars, but havn't seen any of her other movies. She's also very pretty.

Didn't really think too much of her till I saw her in that Wal-Mart baby movie, She is damn sexy and she played that redneck role very convincingly. Being that she was born in Israel.

i remember seeing star wars episode 1 and seeing portman in the blue roght dress thing on tatooine. i fell in love with her there. sexy body, and amazing acting skills. she's what all actresses should aspire to be like.

She is even great in poor movies like the WholeTenYards--and loved her in Garden State. AND her anti-Palestinian views are EXACTLY as they should be so I love her mind, body and ability!

natalie portman is one of my favorite actresses, she has a glow about her. She is so naturally beautiful, reminds me of a younger Ashley Judd. She is so talented but also so modest. Very smart and has a very good fashion sense, kindof retro and vintage

Like a lot of people, my first introduction to Natalie Portman was in The Professional (aka Leon). I havea feeling I knew how people felt when they saw Elizabeth Taylor in National Velvet. Natural beauty with an incredible screen presence. Definately one of the finest actresses working today.

She isnt to bad, good in where the heart is.

A strong actress and absolutely gorgeous. The movie Garden State sucked but she glowed.

1) CLOSER (played a stripper) 2) GARDEN STATE (played a head - injury patient) 3) THE PROFESSIONAL (played a little girl on the run from crooked cops) What's not to love ?

Star Wars wasn't great, but when she has better roles she is wonderful like in Garden State, Where The Heart Is, and Closer.

She's hot but she supports John Kerry which is why I'm docking her a few stars.

She's a good actress i guess but seems boring

Three things I definitely can't deny about Natalie is 1.) She's VERY beautiful and 2.) She actually HAS a brain to back up those looks which is a rarity in Hollywood 3.) She IS talented. I think that if Natalie only just steps back for a few minutes and realises just how lucky she is to be in this position and takes acting just that little bit more seriously I think that she would by far easily be one of the best actresses we have around. She said and I quote Acting is not a real job. How ungrateful can you get??? She only has to go around to the drama schools in her city alone and see the hundreds of hopeful young girls her age that would give their lives to have the career she has!! She should try and take it more seriously and have more respect for a proffession that not only pays her way to go to a resepectable ivy league university, but also has given her the ample opportunity to work with people that some would give an arm and a leg to do, but may never have in this lifetime.

She will always be at least 4 stars--she earned them all in The Professional as Mathilda--in a stunning performance for such a young actor. Her Lolita-lite role carries the entire film.

She's very pretty and was very good in Cold Mountain

I first noticed Natalie Portman in her role in the film Beautiful Girls. Right off the bat, she impressed me with her ability to stay in stride with much older actors. She has this very strong screen presence that makes her stand out in any film she's been in even mediocre ones. I like to compare her to a young Audrey Hepburn. Obviously very beautiful, there's undeniable grace and maturity to her. Not another pretty Hollywood doll, Natalie attends Harvard and has managed to remain well-grounded and a terrific role model. Her work in all her films is good with clear delivery and a feel for the material. Yes, the Star Wars movies aren't good examples of this but I think the script is more to blame than her. I hope to see Natalie in many more roles and think she will prove to be an actress with a long, successful career.

Ya know, I really don't see what people like in her. She has the personality of a wall, the acting isn't great, and her looks are mediocre at best. There were so many others that should have been in the Star Wars movies over her. I would have really liked it if they would have put Britney Spears or maybe even Drew Barrymore in this role...

She is another one of those celebrities who went from a childhood actress to an adult actress as a 22 year-old. Actually I think any actor/actress who has had an acting career as a child and then blossomed into an adult actor/actress is successful. I also think that they have done a good job. Consider Elijah Wood and Christina Ricci who are in Natalie's age group. They have managed to continue their career into their early 20's so far.
