I really wasn't that impressed with her until she played June Carter in "Walk the Line." She showed some amazing ability (acting and singing) in that movie. But due to such movies as Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions, I just can't give her the full five stars.

Like her pretty well. Loved Cruel Intentions, too bad she and Phillippe are no longer together, but she grew up a regular person and for the most part has hung on to that.

I had to change my rating after seeing her Academy Award performance.

By the size of her chin she should be renamed Reese Withashovel. She typifies what is currently a very mediocre crop of so-called A-list Hollywood actresses along with the likes of Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler. Viz looks, sex appeal, style and/or acting ability they all fall way short of the likes of Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Vivian Leigh etc

So this what cuts it as Hollywood A list these days?? Not exactly Grace Kelly eh? Sorry, but there's no escaping it, she's a moose.

She has been in a lot of wonderful movies and has the ability to play all types of roles. She's very down-to-earth.

Reese Witherspoon is a great actress. The evidence? Watch 'Walk the Line'. Her performance as June Carter Cash is as inspiring as it is brilliant. And as a person, Witherspoon seems to be more down-to-earth than her contemporaries. With all this in mind, Witherspoon ought to shine for years to come.

I always thought Reese Witherspoon was a pleasant, charming actress. She shined in Election, Legally Blonde and a few romantic comedies, proving she was quick with material and very likeable. But now with an Oscar nod, people are more and more noticing the depth she can really have if she chooses. The immersion into June Carter Cash was unmistakable; she was a perfect fit to Phoenix's Cash. She has the uncanny ability to be very raw and become her characters- an earlier work of hers,"Freeway" is a prime example. When I saw the young, pretty girl next door become a junkie delinquent, I knew she had the grit and ability to really be something. As much as I loved her happy, comedic flicks, I'm even happier that "Walk the Line" really showed her true potential. The Oscar nomination is totally deserved.

Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses because she picks good roles, isn't in horrible movies, and she's cute and fun if you know what I mean. She does a fair acting job, to top it off. And she's MARRIED. That's a plus, since a lot of actors just jump from one famous person to another.

Excellent acting range, very down-to-Earth, beautiful. If you have never seen a Reese movie, I highly recommend doing a search and renting a few - hard to go wrong.

She is insanely sexy but that's about it. I've never seen her act. She has a great body, not much substance.

she is not my favourite at all.all she does is do that perky smart alecky act in most of her movie.havent seen much depth of acting nor is she fun to watch.pretty at times and not so at other times because her features are not that great,save her blue eyes for the most part.

I used to love her before the Legally Blonde Movies, I had a crush on her since she did her 1st movie, The Man in the Moon I thought she had so much potential, Oh well I guess she did Legally Blonde for the Money since she's a momma now.

She has a decent acting range and she picks roles that are good for her. I've enjoyed most of the movies she has been in. No, she isn't the average pretty, blonde starlet because she has more than her looks to back her up. She is a good role model, and a decent human being. And she is pretty in her own way.

I guess a bottle of peroxide will take you a long way if you have no looks or talent.

great range cute as hell

Her acting is very convincable, as of the roles I've seen. It kind of turned me off though, learning that her personality and life and job is not very enjoyable but always serious. Seems like she's too boring in real life, although her acting ability is real-life to the max.

Legally Blonde was great although her charecter reminded me of Cher from Clueless. I loved Pleasantville too. hope she doesn't stray too much from good comedy roles.

i think i found her appealing in two movies Man on the moon and Cruel Intentions other than that, i dont see the big deal. seems like Generation Y's answer to Meg Ryan.

The problem with young hollywood actresses is that they're all interchangeable--blond, anorexic, quasi talented. For instance, Reese is interchangeable with Kirsten Dunst. Hillary is interchangeable with Lindsay Lohan. Everybody has a doppelganger. What's the point?

I liked her in her indie days like Man in the Moon,Freeway and Election. After Legally Blonde (which at first I didn't mind an actress needs a mainstream hit) she went too mainstream doing the sort of movies that have a blockbuster video(Sweet home Alabama, etc) feel to them.
