I really enjoyed this movie. It had the potential to be gimmicky, but surprisingly it wasn't. In addition, it was extremely long (around two hours and 45 minutes), but I didn't feel restless watching it. The acting was terrific, and the story kept me interested throughout. I wish they made more movies like this one.

Great movie - kind of sad - I did cry a little, but I was pleasantly surprised at how the reverse aging was handled!! Also, Brad Pitt is turning out to be a good actor after all instead of just another pretty face. Complicated subject matter made very engrossing!

A little tedious and long. It covered the relationship issue well, but I believe that there are many more questions and issues that could have been raised with more detail - body image, aging, feelings and thought going on in his mind, and more that I can't think of right now. In some ways it was too predictable, when I left the room and returned I could easily guess what had happened. I didn't even bother to push pause. Acting was acceptable, but not great. Generally, the kind of movie during which you can make a sandwich.

Beautiful story. May seem slow for others, however, it is intended to be viewed at a leisurely pace and enjoyed like good wine, one sip at a time. Keeps you on edge, wondering what's going to happen next. Ending will break your heart.

Three hours long -- a pointless movie. The make-up was terrible too. The whole thing was unbelievable and incredibly boring. The only thing curious about this case of Benjamin Button is why the film was made and why it received Academy Award recognition in the first place.

Not awful I guess. Some twists I didn't see comming, but nothing major. It was a bit Gumpish. Did anyone else see the similarities between this movie and Forrest Gump? Both had trouble walking in the beginning. Both characters met the love of their life at a young age. One lived in a boarding house, the other in assisted living type home that also had people comming and going. Both movies had the lovers cross paths many times with very similar reactions. Both had normal children but one knew the child from birth and ran into her later while the other just ran into him later. Mama dies in both. Riding the motorcycle seemed similar to the running. Getting the button company is similar to getting Bubba-Gump Shrimp. Captain Mike was similar to Leiutenat Dan. One met an opera singer while the other met a famous singer (Elvis). Both characters tell their stories as flashbacks, though in different ways. Both the guy asks the girl to move back home towards the end. There were some more in there that I can't remember off hand, but otherwise, very similar.

Overall, the plotline was good, it was an interesting, captivating and bizarre in a good way story. I have to admit that if it wasn't 3 hours long, I would have loved this movie. On the other hand, the lenght of the movie allowed us to get to know each character much better, and be able to establish certain links with them. Don't go watch this movie late at night, you will fall asleep...

Interesting but moves a little slow. In the end it's not clear what''s the point?

Since I continue to see advertisements for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I feel obligated to review it.Summary first: Don't see this film. It is a waste of time. 3 solid hours of time, no lessThis may seem a bit harsh, but believe me, there were very few redeeming qualities, and pretty much all of them are evident in the trailer. The only one I can think of at the moment is the transposition of Pitt's face as a special effect.Onto a full review:This film is essentially a dull character study for Brad Pitt. It meanders through the different life stages of Benjamin Button at a snails pace, with very little character development or value added at each juncture. I stopped caring rather early on, approximately when he goes off to war, and the remainder of the film doesn't do anything to redeem him or the plot. Basically it dwells ad nauseum on an interminable love story that starts off creepy as hell with a 6 year old girl being attracted to a short 75 year old man, and ends in a similarly grotesque reversal of this scenario. All the while using a random diary / mother + estranged daughter reunion as a storytelling device. Don't worry, if that didn't sound cliche enough, said reunion takes place in a hospital in the midst of Hurricane Katrina.Throughout the film no one EVER raises the question of how in the world a person that ages in reverse could possibly exist. Barring this specific point, the film sets out to take place entirely in reality, complete with costume designs from each decade throughout 80 years of life. I'm certainly able to suspend disbelief when watching a film, but this just seems like a congruity error on the part of the screen writers. The inclusion of Katrina as a plot device came across as a stilted and desperate attempt to bring relevance to this story which would have benefited greatly and maybe even have been remotely believable if it had followed the story from which it was adapted (which the trailers eagerly point out was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald.)Out of curiousity, after sitting through this worthless film, I actually looked up the story itself because I couldn't imagine that almost any of it actually stemmed from anything written by a writer of moderate acclaim. Sure enough, the only thing that holds true to the original story is the existence of a character that ages in reverse. The remainder of the story consists mostly of characters questioning how in the world such a person could exist, and focuses on his progression through a much shorter life in which he vocally complains about arthritis in his infancy, divorces his wife for being too old, and shirks responsibilities to his children by going off to play football at Harvard. I can see how this actual adaptation is a lot less marketable than an epic love story, but the end result is that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is an epic failure.

I thought it was OK. Parts of it were a bit slow, but the special effects were pretty incredible - it's not easy to make Brad Pitt look like a convincing 80 year old, and a convincing 14 year old in the same movie. That being said, the story line is pretty tragic, to the point that I found myself questioning why the hell I was watching this movie. I guess getting old is tragic, but going out the other way seems worse to me - especially if you are the ONLY person going out the other way. Just a bit too much mortality in this movie for me.
