Great comedian. She is one of those actresses that sells herself with her humor and personality.

She gave an unforgetable performance in the color purple, a good performance in ghost, but really was not impressive in any of her other movies.

Although she has been in a few Klinkers,Whoopi can act with the best of 'em. She is far more talented than she is generally given credit for. Comic roles are the hardest type to pull off successfully-and she does this with pure genius.She is also fully capable of serious and dramatic roles such as her stunning performance in The Color Purple.

What is she all about? She is a one dimension character. Name me very many movies where she plays something different from a smart-aleck ghetto trash talker--maybe Clara's Heart and that was an ethnic part so is contrived.

Her last show, a sitcom I think, tanked. She can't act, her voice sounds like bad brakes on the A train, and her looks are best suited for anything in the horror genre. Hey Whoop, dreads used to be cool, maybe for a month or two in 1975.

Her recent rant at the Bush bash fest shows her for what she really is, a foul mouthed, uncouth, nonfunny street thug. Also, I love the history of her latest projects---complete and abject failures. If I had only known years ago that all you needed to do to get screen famous was to be foul mouthed and not funny I could have been a contender. Whoopi you ought to be ashamed of yourself. I like some of the movies that Whoopi has been in. She was great as the con artist who could hear ghosts in ghost. She was good in The Color Purple doing a dramatic role. and i liked her in the movie Sister Act. unfortunately, she has been in some movies that had awful plots. Some of her roles have been good.

If you took all the funny performances ever filmed, loaded them onto a space craft and shot them into outer space, we would have no fewer minutes of Whoopi Goldberg performing. I've never heard that woman utter so much as a single funny phrase. Moreover, everything she says is racist. She takes on some schlocky, Jewish moniker and that's supposed to absolve her of responsibility for being racist? If she was white, everyone would hammer on her for her non-stop diatriabe on white people this, black people that. If her new show "Whoopi" makes it past 5 episodes, the French are right, Americans are complete idiots.
