The Piano was a snoozer but she was fabulous in the Positive (don't remember the whole title) the tv movie about the mother who kills because her daughter does not make the cheerleader squad. She was over the top and campy. Nobody could have played that role better than her.

she has had some great roles. A good actess, I liked her in broadcast news, and Thirteen. she is good at playing the fiesty characters.

A very versatile and talented actress. The Piano was too dowdy for me to be able to sit through, but I hear it was great. Raising Arizona was great fun Hy, I wanna babay, and she pops up in scene stealing cameos often enough to rate...Shes looking freshened up of late, but I do like the effect, kudos to the plastic surgeons if they are involved.

I've not been able to see many of her films but the few I have seen she has impressed me. The most recent one she did that I saw was "Harlan County War" which is a story about events which occurred where I live. I was fortunate enough to have met Holly and her sincerity and nice personality impressed me to no end. I think the world of her and look forward to seeing her in more films.

I like her, but it's hard to take her seriously in many roles she takes. She was silly as a cop in that Sigorney Weaver flick.

That thick accent of hers really makes it hard to sit through some of her movies, but she's pretty solid as an actress. I might have given her another star were it not for that horrendous movie "The Piano". She won an Oscar for that, and I'm still trying to figure out why.

Terrific, smart, sexy. . .check out BROADCAST NEWS and RAISING ARIZONA. . .of course, THE PIANO is a great example of acting.

Fiesty, solid actress who has appeared in a number of artsy flicks, the best known being The Piano(for which she won her Oscar). She has demonstrated an pretty good range of characters, playing, among udder things, a cop, a psychologist, a femme fatal, and a sexual deviate. You can always expect a professional performance from Ms. Hunter, although her Appalacian accent does take some getting used to. She's hitting the age where she may start getting pushed into smaller, less inteteresting roles, but not quietly, one would suspect.

Love everything I've ever seen her in.

i think this woman is really cool. i haven't seen too many of her movies, but i also like that she's not a typical, trendy, loud-mouthed, hollywood glamour-puss. i thought she gave an exceptional performance in Copycat.

I haven't seen much of her; but I have to give her raves for her performance in 'The Piano'.

She was great in "Raising Arizona" especially. I've enjoyed all of her movies. A very good actress.

I used to like her, although I don't understand why she did that awful movie, Crash. Maybe she's an in-the-closet sex fiend.

I don't like Holly Hunter. I find almost everything about her annoying, but it's probably her accent that bothers me the most. In "Broadcast News," for example, she had this very strange, grating Southern accent. I found it hard to listen to what she was saying because her accent was so distracting. What's the deal with that? The only reason I didn't give her a "1" is because she has been in some pretty good movies.
