From the straight male point of view, I would have said that she's the "hot older woman fantasy" of Hollywood except that she's always excelled in that kind of part, even when she was 20 years younger: in the "other" adaptation of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, VALMONT, she projected a witty sensuality that Glenn Close totally lacked; in RICHARD III, she managed to keep with Ian McKellen as his Queen; hell, she was already the hot mom in THE GREAT OUTDOORS. It's astonishing how well she's made this kind of role her own, and done it so well for so long. This makes her probably the most blessed actress in such an age-conscious industry: as she ages, she continues to become what she used to be.

good actress. just when I start to forget about her she shows up in a movie that reminds me of how talented she is.she has done some very good roles and has been nominated for Oscars for some of them. quite versatile and convincing.

Pure class and tremendous talent. She made The American President one of my favorite movies ever. I loved her as Virginia Hill in Bugsy, and most recently in Mrs. Harris on HBO. I love that she has a great family life and is so confident.

What a wonderful actress! She is simply phenominal. I've never watched a movie that Annette Bening starred in and been disappointed. She gave wonderful performances in "The American President" and "Richard III". I thought that she had such chemistry with Gary Shandling in the hilarious comedy, "What Planet Are You From?". She was also great in "The Siege". Her best performance was probably in "American Beauty"- talk about presence! Simply phenominal acting on her part. Annette Bening is one hell of an actress who is just producing more and more good films as time goes by.

I love Annette Bening. She is so awesome and so real. The American President is my favorite movie that she has been in. American Beauty also is a great movie and same to Love Affair and the Grifters. I look at her as a role model and how I would love to become just like her.

Ms. Bening is a good actress who has had some very good performances(Valmont, American Beauty, The Grifters, The Siege). Unfortunately, being Mrs. Warren Beatty, she does not receive all the respect that she deserves as an actress in her own right. She seems to be getting better with age - some of her best performances have come after 40(The Siege, American Beauty), which goes against the Hollywood grain. Perhaps being Mrs. Warren Beatty gives her an extra bit of clout after all. When it all boils down to broth, one cannot deny that Ms. Bening is a smart, capable, and very talented American actress who is alwys expected to make a run at the Oscars. We need to see moore of her work!

Annette and Warren played together in "Love Affair" for which they did not receive great reviews. "Love Affair" is my favorite movie, and it just gets better every time I watch it. A first class piece of evidence that reviews by critics aren't reliable at all.

Annette Bening is one of the best, yet underrated actresses of our time. She gives outstanding performances in anything she does. Altough there are some of her movies that I didn't care for I can't knock her performance in any of them because they were all spectacular. Anyone that doubts her acting ability obviously either has never really seen her work or knows absolutely nothing about acting. She deserved her nomination and a win for her peformance in American Beauty. I am her number one fan and as an aspiring actress she is one of the only people in Hollywood worth emulating.

Annette Bening hasn't been in any movies that I've even enjoyed at the least. She is extremly nervous and annoying in all of her roles, and she can't even shead one single tear. If you're a casting director, and I wouldn't hire this woman in a decade.

One fine lady, a real talent

Annette Bening scored in American Beauty, but any actress would have been great in that magnificent role. As an actor I think she's talented, as a human being who I've met, I find her lacking in authenticity along with her husband, both of whom are extremely self-centered. Sadly, both are noted for rarely contributing to charites. Truth is stranger than fiction, and most of the times, a lot harder to hear.

Damn, she's really good. I loved her in Bugsy(mediocre movie), American Beauty & The American President(silly movie). My favorite role of hers was certainly from The Grifters...but, then again, you'd be very hard pressed to find a bigger Jim Thompson(author of the Grifters) fan than I.

honestly,American Beauty is the only movie I have ever seen of hers.If this is typical of her work,then she is a great actress.I found her brilliant and above all,hilarious.

Annette Bening is my absolute favorite actress. She's beautiful, brainy, elegant, talented, and a good role model all in one. She has a way of lighting up the screen like no other actress of today. That's not to say that they're aren't other incredible actresses out there. I just think Annette brings an incredible warmth and glow to the screen that can only be matched by actresses of earlier generations. She is that one rare fish of the sea. While she was incredible in her award winning, critically aclaimed role in American Beauty, my personal favorite is her role of Sydney Wade in the American President. I also love that she can break away from the more serious roles and become a little zany, yet adorably funny in movies like Mars Attacks and What Planet Are You From. If you've only seen one or two of her movies, I encourage you to see more, because no matter what role she plays, she plays it with precision and class. If ever I had the chance to meet and to talk to a celebrity, Annette Bening would be the choice above all choices. I admire her greatly, not only as a gifted actress, but as an incredible woman.

A.B was wonderful in american Beauty. Who can forget the "yes your majesty" comments? She looked cool and she looked her age and it was great to see a husband of K.S's age who didn't have a teen bride on film. Brillant casting.
