I give her credit for bucking the Hollywood standard of success for young actresses. She's not hot, never claimed to be hot, and couldn't pass for anything near hot if her life depended on it. Yet she has two Oscars on her mantle and the respect of the industry. Not bad. You go baby...

I saw her in "The Core" because we watched it in school, and I think she did a good job. She seems like a nice person, and she's a good actress.

A wonderful actress. That "Boys Don't Cry" movie was harrowing. All of the Garner/Alba/Johannson talking mannequins out there would trade all of their "prettiness" for an ounce of Swank's acting ability - or the critical (critical, not popular) honor she receives for it. I just hope she always picks roles of such high quality. I like Charlize Theron, think she's a capable actress, but she has fallen into the Hollywod trap and is starting to star in crap. I have faith that Swank will always be above this.

The only movie I've seen her in is "Boys Don't Cry", and she turned in an excellent performance as the gender-bending performance. I don't see how anyone could have performed any better in this role.

I loved her in Million Dollar Baby. I thought she was quite believable as a female boxer. With two Academy Awards she's proven herself.

I just wonder how versatile she is. Maybe she would have made a good actor. Won Oscars for portraying a cross dresser and a female boxer? Probably has to be that way to balance out her marraige because her husband belongs in the Weinie Hall of Fame. Anyway, I 1st saw her in 90210, and she was not terribly impressive. I kinda like her though.

I never would have thought this girl who started with such films as Buffy the Vampire Slayer would some day be a two time Oscar winner. It just goes to show you, you can't judge a person too harshly at the beginning of their career, they just might become the next Hilary Swank. I am happy for her, she deserves this recognition. She was wonderful in just about every role after Buffy.

About two years ago Hilary was criticised for not taking the main stream route of most Oscar winners and shunning bland Hollywood scripts with mediocre characters. I read somewhere that she found it important not to let her art suffer as she did a stage play in New York shortly after her Oscar win with very little payment. These same critics fail to tell the difference between a celebrity and an actress and you have to respect Hilary for taking good roles in low budget films such as The Gift, Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don't Cry not for the sake of money, fame and popularity, but to stay true to herself and remind herself as to why she went into the business in the first place.

After seeing her in some films, i am getting to really respect the work she has done in such a short time. She was very good in Boys Don't Cry even though it is a hard movie to watch since is pretty graphic. I like her in Iron Jawed angels. I plan on seeing her in Million Dollar Baby. from the scenes I have seen she is very impressive. I have seen her in interviews and like her down to earth not the least bit full of herself attitude. Bravo to her for her second Oscar.One of our better current actresses I would give a 4.5.

It was great to see her win her well-deserved Oscar for her performance in the powerful film, "Boys Don't Cry". I found it interesting that she made only $3,000 for acting in that film- I guess it proves that actors and actresses are at their best when they are paid the least. Her performance in "Boys Don't Cry" was both moving and powerful. Having first seen her in "The Next Karate Kid", I was very surprised that she was able to pull "Boys Don't Cry" off considering the failure of that film. She also gave a riveting performance in "The Gift" which solidified her as a major player in Hollywood for many years to come.

Hilary Swank is a true artist. She has a quality about her that completely draws you in which is why I am captivated when watching her. Her skill in acting is startling because it is absolutely flawless. I actually fell in love with Brandon Teena when I watched Boys Don't Cry. I believe that without her performance the movie would not have had so profound an effect on audiences. I am incredibly grateful for the gift she has brought to the screen.

Every now and then, an actress comes along who, on the strength of a single performance, just blows the MooCow away. Sometimes, as in the case of Selma Blair(Cruel Intentions), it is the sheer force of beauty; udder times, such as Ms. Swank's performance in Boys Don't Cry, it is a revelation of true acting talent. Not only was Ms. Swank udderly cowvincing in a very challenging, and none-too glamorous, role of Teena Brandon, she emparts such a depth of sympathy, pathos, and understanding(not to mention irritation at the character's cowstant irresponsibility), that this Cow would have found it hard to believe if she had not received the Best Actress nod. But she did, and I suppose there is some justice in the world at that. Udder roles Ms. Swank has appeared in have been also good, although not as spellbinding(The Gift, Insomnia, Affair of the Necklace). Ms. Swank is also equally blessed with serious snugglosity - it is hard to imagine she played a gal trying to pass for a guy, and made it work. But she did, and she deserves full accolades. This is one actress for whom the MooCow forsees many good things to come1! :=8D

To watch Swank's potrayal of Brandon Teena is to shed tears for someone who seemed to be a lovely person who just didn't know where to fit in but didn't compromise herself either. I saw the documentary "The Teena Brandon Story" and when watching "Boys Don't Cry" it's hard to distinguish where Hilary Swank begins and where Brandon Teena ends. I hope to see her in so much more. After watching "BDC", I have every assurance this actress could play anything!

Her acting in "Boys don't cry" was unbelievable. Actually, I didn't know she was even existing before I saw the movie. While watching the movie, a friend of mine whispered: "Isn't she great?" "SHE?" I yelled.... THAT unbelievable!

Hilary will reamian an A list actres, She just proved it again when I went to see The Gift whch is a movie that is new and has ner in it, She did the part well and with real Belief... Another thing that Hioalry seems to really well in, is When i see her at these Award shows, Her Dress's are Gorgeus and she loosk Fantastic in them and is All The Way Woman, being maried to Chad Lowe... Swank was really, really good in Boys Don't Cry. I didn't understand the awards she won until I saw her performance from the second half of the movie. There was no question after that. I can't give her a five until I see more work from her. Chloe Sevigny was also great IN BDC as Lana.

I honestly find Hilary Swank's portrayal of Brendon Teena in the film 'Boys Don't Cry', as simply one of most true-to-life analyses of hardships in an ofetn self-centred world. Hilary Swank pulls of probably the most courageous performances I have seen in film, and for that she ought to be commended and realised as a brilliant actress worthy of high appraisal. Furthermore, she is beautiful, far more, in fact, than any other actress of which I am aware. She really has gor raw talent, and combined with her frightfully stunning looks, she will continue to amaze audiences around the world for many, many years to come.
