This woman is pretty reprehensible, one of the most crazed conservatives out there and a troublemaking loudmouth. It's bad enough that she's a shrill proponent of neo-McCarthyism, but her legislative record in the past two years has been out-of-touch and totally contrary to the best interests of Americans of all types. She opposed placing restrictions on lobbyist gifting and raising the minimum wage for the first time in 20 years. She opposed both reducing interest rates on government student loans and allocating funding for stem cell research. She opposed the idea of the government directly negotiating prices on behalf of the public with pharmaceutical companies and the ending of multi-billion dollar tax subsidies for the petroleum industry. She opposed increasing the size of Pell Grants and voted against the idea of Congress adopting a pay-as-you-go approach toward budget making. She has opposed the practical, vocationally-oriented School-to-Work educational approach and supported the Profile of Learning alternative, which is nothing more than the brainwashing of young children. She believes that Intelligent Design should be taught in the public schools, that Social Security should be privatized (as if the greedheads on Wall Street need yet another giveaway), that the Constitution should be amended to outlaw gay marriage and that nuclear weapons are a reasonable option in dealing with Iran. She's an ardent hawk, enthusiastic holy roller, and yet another GOP paranoid looking for the boogeyman under the bed. She's on the wrong side of every issue, obviously mentally ill, and downright scary. Pro-business to the limits of recklessness, and obviously in favor of keeping Americans poor, stupid and deprived of human rights that are supposed to be guaranteed under the Constitution. But, running her mouth might be her undoing as her political party, that criminal outfit known as the GOP, has pulled its support of her re-election campaign, and her opponent, as a result of public outrage over her recent as*holish statements, has raised over $1,000,000 in the past few days. To compare this woman to sh*t is insulting to sh*t. But, she's typical of those Republican psychopaths who are out to destroy this nation.

I hadn't even heard of Bachmann until it was mentioned in the press that Colin Powell brought up the case of a certain obscure Congresswoman from Minnesota who wanted to hold hearings about Anti-Americanism in public life. I'm certain that Bachmann probably regrets making those comments now. The National GOP has stopped funding her campaign and her opponent raised about $800,000 in one night. What was supposed to be an easy re-election race for Bachmann has become very competitive, so much so that the Republicans have already written it off as a loss due to those inflammatory comments.

I think the nationwide reaction to her crap indicates that maybe we're turning the page on this kind of rhetoric from the right. In Canada do you ever hear politicians accusing each other of being "anti-Canadian?" In Germany do you hear much about "anti-Germanism?" This is a unique ideological parlance for American politics, and right wingers aren't used to being called on it. Kudos to Daily Kos and the liberal blogosphere for raising over a million dollars for her election opponent. Maybe he can boot her out of office as an example and remind pols that McCarthy died 50 years ago.

She's a polarizer, ok, but is she really farther right than say a Rep. Wexler of Florida is to the left? Rep. Murtha? Sen Hillary Clinton? Sen. Barack Obama? Think hard, now.

Very much a polarizer, and loves to use extreme language. Political opponents, in Bachmann's mind are no longer simply wrong, they are anti-American. A despicable and dangerous point of view.

Bachmann is a Republican who represents the 6th District of Minnesota in the House of Representatives. In a recent interview, she suggested that the news media should investigate whether some members of congress, including Obama are "pro-American or anti-American." She is apparently a voice for a new McCarthyism.
