Personally, I think, by default, he has displayed a pretty narrow range on screen and this seems to be progressing as he ages. However, he, along with actors like Tom Cruise, are formulaic and the formula works. This dude, as another reviewer has indicated, is the All-Time Top Earning Actor in The Universe. Why mess with that? Also, like Cruise, he gets surrounded, for the most part, with a top notch production. Good thing he's an actor, because if he was a buffet item, he'd be a bisquit that was drying up. He might have one good run left in him, as a property.

I've never seen much evidence that he can play more than one character convincingly. Virtually all his so called "great" roles are just minor variations on Han Solo. Sorry, but playing a cartoon does not make for great acting.

He was brilliantly cast as Indianna Jones and the first movie might be on my all time top ten (the following three were sad cash-ins). But he has pretty much rode the blockbuster franchise system for all it was worth and failed to do much of anything intersting since the middle of the 1980's. Some decent films include Witness, Frantic, Mosquioto Coast and Pressumed Innocent, although in that film he was blown off the screen by the great Raoul Julia.

Probably ranks right up there with John Wayne who also didn't win many Academy Awards.Harrison Ford is still the actor with the most blockbusters to his resume.
lix 11/13/2008
Alright, loved the early Indiana Jones.. I can't remember a movie of this guy's that I didn't like... I may have to watch a Star Wars movie to figure out what the hype is about :)
Moosekarloff 10/13/2008
Totally unconvincing in every role I've ever seen him in. No wonder they cast him in cartoonish crap that appeals to the kiddies and those adults who suffer from arrested development. His serious dramatic roles in that totally impluasible "Witness" and that well-meaning but lightweight "Remembering Henry" or whatever, and when he played the President really pointed up how lacking he is as an actor.
Spike65 06/20/2008
A fine journeyman actor whose good looks and screen presence have served him very well. Has had the good sense to pick roles that suit him well.

Harrison Ford = Badass
Jeremy00081 09/12/2006
How can you not like Ford? His work speaks for itself.
bethbookitty 01/17/2006
Harrison Ford is INCREDIBLE!
OutsideBlitz 12/13/2005
Best Movie he did; a tie between The Last Crusade and Air Force One.
INOitALL 10/29/2005
All this guys does is play his mumbling self for the last 20 yrs.
CanadaSucks 07/26/2005
Forget the Hollywood roles. . .check out Witness or The Mosquito Coast for good examples of Ford's underrated acting ability.
eyemadreamer 07/26/2005
i think hes a great actor.
Maomania 03/01/2005
Harrison Ford was a good looking man in his prime and that helped him a lot in his career. Obviously his fans love him for his role in Star Wars or Indiana Jones. He is not the best actor Hollywood has ever seen though. He feels the need to put all his emotion into facial expression that seem to just ruin things at times. But I think he has a great sense in picking movies and roles.
magneto101 02/25/2005
best actor ever
dpostoskie 02/04/2005
Best thing about Ford, he seems real, he actually gets beat up.
CherrySoda99 01/25/2005
Harrison Ford is definetely one of my favourites. His classic performance in Star Wars, and Indiana Jones got me hooked. He's funny, and too bad he's getting old, cause he woud've been considered a hottie in the Star Wars age.
stlsportsguy 11/18/2004
I think I look like a young Harrison Ford. If I ever win an Oscar, I'll let him accept it.
Djahuti 11/17/2004
Kind of like watching a wooden puppet, but less entertaining.
Vendelina 08/29/2004
I hate Harrison
Groovy 07/22/2004
He was ok as Han Solo, but he often overacts and looks stupid in more serious roles, i.e.: What Lies Beneath.
scarletfeather 07/18/2004
He is an OK actor, not great. I liked him in the Indiana Jones movies and in Presumed Innocent. I don't have a problem with him expressing his desire for a change in regime because as an American citizen he is granted freedom of speech. I think regime is a pretty apt description for Bush's so-called leadership. I also have a feeling that if Ford were a Bush supporter, Emesta would be praising Ford to the skies.
ernesta 07/18/2004
Says he wants a Regime change in the U.S. This ignoramus has no idea what a Regime really is. Why don't you be grateful you were born in the U.S. like most of us you overpaid malcontent.

A good actor, but has chosen awful films lately. What is going on with this man?!
TheDesertFox 07/10/2004
One of the great acting talents- went to college in Ripon, Wisconsin.
daxx 06/14/2004
Don't care to watch him anymore now that I know his anti-american politics. Wish these actors would stick to just acting.
ANSGARD 06/03/2004
very very good

Loved the ageless one in Indiana Jones and the Fugitive. One of the great talents.

Boring, old and Ugly. Been in some good films though!
damianlebas 03/14/2004
The thought of Harrison Ford teaching his archaeology class in the Indiana Jones movies gives me all the incentive I need to get through the most mind-numbingly boring parts of my Religio-anthropological studies. For this reason alone the man is an icon of motivation, on a par with Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
Zellie 12/28/2003
I love Harrison Ford but I could only give him 4 stars. He's dependable and easily watchable, but he lacks just a tiny bit in his acting range. The bent fingers thing has to go.
Redoedo 12/18/2003
Of course, like Wiggum, I would give Harrison Ford five stars for his two most famous roles alone (Han Solo in the Star Wars trilogy and Indiana Jones). However, it is clear that Harrison Ford is not limited to adventurous roles alone. Of course Harrison Ford was excellent as CIA Agent Jack Ryan in all the Tom Clancy films (Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger). He was also good in Air Force One. Exciting thrillers like Presumed Innocent and The Devil's Own round out his impressive resume. It was also interesting to see Ford try his hand at romantic comedy roles (Sabrina, Six Days, Seven Nights). Although he is much better in action/thriller roles, Ford's awesome screen presence alone can keep the audience's attention, no matter what type of film it is. I believe that Ford's best post-Indiana Jones/Han Solo performance was a Dr. Norman Spencer in the 2000 supernatural thriller What Lies Beneath. It was quite interesting seeing Ford undertake a darker role, and I must say he pulled off the ending with sheer brilliance. In the final analysis, I would have to say that Harrison Ford is probably in my top 5 list of favorite actors. I am just amazed at his awesome screen presence, natural acting ability and obvious charisma. His career is still running strong, but even if he never made another movie again, he would still be considered, and rightfully so, as one of the greatest actors of our time.

THE MAN IS OK CANT SEE WHAT THE HUE AND THE CRY IS MADE ABOUT.
Furball1441 08/29/2003
Great and talented. Loved him in the first Star Wars' and Air Force One. Not that great in Hollywood Homicide. He has been trying too hard to be cool lately. He should just be himself, that is cool enough.
President -X-D 08/09/2003
the best movie star of my generation, and an avove average actor.
BugahaNE 08/09/2003
LOL I agree with the other reviewers comment on the earring. No male who's over the age of 30 should be wearing an earring, that went out in the 80's. I don't think we'll see Bill Clinton or George Bush sporting one anytime soon, both of whom are younger than he is. Stop trying to prove you're hip.

I think Harrison Ford is an awesome actor and has had an amazing career. I hope that everything goes well for him. Not a big fan of Calista Flockhart however.
ironlaw 07/05/2003
Proven track record.
Molfan 06/16/2003
I know he is know a lot for his action adventure movies and he is good at those movies. I am not a huge fan of these kind of movies though. I think Harrison Ford is a good actor one movie I liked a lot was Regarding Henry.this was about a man who was a lawyer and a real S.O.B., then he gets shot in a robbery and gets brain damage and has to start all over again and in the end becomes a better person. He is convincing in his roles.
kolby1973 06/15/2003
The 1st thing I would like to say is that I think it is amazing how people judge his acting and his whole career on his new EARRING...good lord..can some of these raters in here be anymore shallow and self absorbed? lmao ! ----I liked Harrison Ford since the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies. He isn't too bad as an actor. He is really cute, too. HOWEVER, I don't think he is good enough to ever win an Oscar, and if he keeps starring in the movies he has turned out lately, he definately is not gonna win one. And what was with that movie starring Anne Heche? I would have given him a 4 if it wasn't for that mistake he made...lol. Those 2 had absolutely no chemistry, and dont even get me started on that whiny bitch David Schwimmer...yuck !
Robbie W luva 06/03/2003
Man he was so fit in Indianna Jones! he was good in Star Wars but now he is so old, poor love, I don't think he is that good looking anymore but he is still a great actor!
kann 05/24/2003
He isn't aging well.
JeanMachine1 05/17/2003
A complete slut, make no bones about it, he sleeps around...and I for one am jealous he never found me...and if he did, well who am I? I certainly don't flout American culture and instruct the public how to act, dress and be entertained. Does he have one charity event besides something of the obvious?
praisy 05/09/2003
Great actor! I love all of his movies...well...almost all... Very cute too!!!
frankietwoputt s 04/24/2003
With few exceptions (not so hot movies), no one has had the ability to "pick the right role" like this guy; from Star Wars, to Indiana Jones, to "Jack Ryan" in the Clancy novels, what a career of big films!
anmalone 02/12/2003
His acting appears to consist of staring with furrowed brow in a perpetually perplexed expression like your average run of the mill village idiot contemplating lint on the end of his finger.
dark.angel 02/06/2003
Harrison Ford kicks A$$! He was awesome in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and one of my personal favorites, The Devil's Own, which happened to have my other favorite male actour, Brad Pitt!
