Someone posted a video clip on Youtube from the Today Show in 1985 with Jane Pauley interviewing former teen idols Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, and Fabian. I gotta say she looked pretty hot back then!
stubailey 01/05/2006
Could have been the finest anchor ever, if NBC had played it right.
skikittykitty 12/28/2005
She is in bad shape -- anyone see her interview with Tim Russert? She now speaks in a disjointed tangential manner. Probably the result of her psychiatric problems, but it should keep her far, far away from the camera.(1 star) When she was at her peak, she was great! (5 stars) What has happened to her is a tragedy.
Kairho 11/08/2005
Good for soft news and features. She was hired for her personality and looks and does not seem all that comfortable with the hard news. Good second stringer.
GenghisTheHun 06/10/2005
She is on the shady side of her career.
jimmydradio 05/17/2005
The epitome of a New York snob - even though she hails from Indiana. The label still fits.
THIRDPARTY 04/24/2005
MY HEROINE!
flowergirl2005 01/13/2005
She's okay but her show is boring and one of the guests made my blood boil.yeh Gurian. Why didn't she question him I wonder - blind trust? She has more potential than this I hope.A program should have conflicting views not one sided nonsense about trendy psychobable fit for only the Stepford set.Not free flowing,,not spontaneous. She just sits there and believes everything she hears. The music at the end of the show is horrible .,,,corny,silly,canned.

She is okay. I like her face. Her voice has changed a bit recently. Have not seen her much on tv lately. Good not great, but not bad either!

I like Jane on Dateline better than the Today show. Not the greatest, not the worst. She does have a good sense of humor when she's a guest on the talk shows.
psychnse 10/06/2004
I happen to be a jane pauley fan, but the show is terrible. jane is known for serious subjects, but the show is about silly things. her work with dateline was the best. She does better interviewing one person, and big personalities at that. The show ill not make it.
rainydazepaint s 09/09/2004
I have tried 3 times to watch her new show. She speaks in such a mono-tone voice that it's hard to listen to. I'm very sorry but I won't be watching this new show. I recommend it be cancelled and replaced with a brand new game show of any kind. (not reality tv, court tv, or who hates to watch no one become a millionaire)
rea118 09/02/2004
This show could not be more boring or self-centered.
jackdog 09/02/2004
The new Jane Pauley Show is so over- produced with extensive taped packages, it seems the producers are afraid the audience will be bored if forced to listen to her. She even looked stiff interviewing her best friend!
drjrr 08/30/2004
All that promo for telling us that she is a regular person with problems. Give me a break.
Cary Zaputz 06/07/2004
A joke. She's always been overated. I agree with the comment below about her faux accent. How many people from Indiana sound like that? She's so full of herself, I once heard her call herself remarkable. The only thing remarkable about her is that she was able to stay employed for so long given her complete lack of talent and competence.
marcm9999 05/03/2004
Absolutely horrid. What an elitist communist---with the faux New England accent thing. She reminds me of my aunt---a real know it all elitist jerk.
Averagejoe54 05/01/2004
Has anyone else noticed that Jane constantly makes faces when she talks? She has a portfolio of about 10-15 faces that she changes like an automaton. Really weird!
gunfondler 04/28/2004
Jane you're a hottie! You've got it all babe!
lickety_split 04/27/2004
Sweet, smart, friendly Jane...the Today Show hasn't been as good since!
vernon 11/14/2003
An intelligent woman, with common sense and not flashy. My type of journalist
Asap28 10/02/2003
Diverse, familiar, trusted and highly skilled. She is missed.

Finally she is going away. Good riddance!

Jane has been a WONDERFUL person for woman in the TV industery to imulate. I have watched Jane since the 1980's. Jane provides the rest of the world with sensible, no-nonsense interviews. She has given me a female person as a "hero spokesperson" for any cause. She is a wonderful interviewer. A great person & a woman who knows what she needs to do to make it in the world, without sacreficing her beliefs or her morals. Thank You, Jane for your contribution to the world!!! Adrienne

She is just there. Nothing makes me really yearn to watch her.
philc 03/31/2003
She was good years ago but didn't seem to do well as time went on.
Aaron19761955 03/29/2003
Nice, but tough lady!!
mprater 03/04/2003
A classy lady whose departure from NBC will leave a huge void.
snafuwa 02/22/2003
Jane Pauley is among the most trusted broadcast journalists in the field. The fact that she exudes "class" in a business that is often ruthless has contributed to my trust in her. Jane has created a foundation to encourage truth in journalism and that can't be said of many other broadcasters. I missed her when she left the TODAY show and I'll definitely miss her now.
BusaBoy 02/20/2003
Thank God she's leaving!! THE worst BITCH of ALL TIME. COMPLETE INCAPABLE of conducting a meaningful interview. A no-talent Ice Queen, with NO personality. Did she really have sex with Bryant?
Aurielle 11/21/2002
I have always admired Jane Pauley and applaud her work on Dateline. She's not only a fantastic reporter, but she's also a wonderful person off the job, which is hard to come by these days. She's had a wonderful career and has shown that she can be successful without having to make $65 million per year like Katie Couric.
lukskywlkr. 11/01/2002
Jane Pauley, even through the Deborah Norville fiasco, remained a very classy lady. She has integrity and that's what I look for on news programs.
TimBSDCA 10/29/2002
Can you spell retirement?
cajunlife 02/08/2001
I like to watch her take on various news events. Wish she were featured more often.
Ruby 02/07/2001
Those Now & Again retrospectives that she hosts are usually incredibly tepid. What's the point of only using NBC footage -- the fun of tuning into A&E's Biography is in learning about an interesting person. NBC seems to think that we're interested about learning about that persons history of appearances on interview shows at 30 Rockefeller Center. Stupid.
Third Stone 12/11/2000
Covers important stories. Later it usually turns out in the long run her analysis was right.
PETE446et 06/07/2000
She's earned a spot in her husband's comic strip -- the dumb-blonde talking head... Except she's made a lucrative career out of it... amazing.
