If parents had to do it over again, they'd re-name him Stoned Phillips. By comparison, makes Al Gore look charismatic.

OK, he's attractive for a guy. However, he is totally self-absorbed. Hasn't received the memo that he and Anderson Cooper have been replaced by the Sun as the center of our solar system. He must be one of those secular humanists/Scientologists like Cruise and Travolta.

I don't know of any parents out there who named their son Stone. But the Phillips did and they conceived who would later become one of the best news people on NBC with Dateline. He was getting too tabloidish the last couple of years, but he's softened that a whole lot. But Stone is a catchy name and that's what makes him stand out of that show.

All you guys who gave bad reviews are just envious of his good looks and brains. Blame it on Dateline for his robotic demeaner! In a lot of his interviws, non- serious (interview with Ray Romano, Donald Trump, Vanessa Williams and so on.... his real person and not his Dateline personlality shines through. One other comment, Dateline could kick it notch in terms of more interesting story lines. I get tired of those dragged out murder stories or court room drama.

His show fabricated the truck blowing up. Part of the major media problem.

I thought he was a square before I met him but he's nothing like his online persona - he's a very real guy, and the nbc guy is an act.

Stone is so beautiful...that in itself earns a 5!! NBC needs to elevate his role.

Stone and Dateline used to be good, but then NBC started showing it every night and the only topic was some rape or rape-murder with Stone becomming Stone-faced Phillips. Didja know Stone was a Quarterback for Yale's football team.

Robotic, and a bit stupid. The constant flairing of the nostrils is annoying, too. I halfway expect a locomotive to roll out of one of them.

The Pros: Well groomed, authoratative speaking voice, has that "walk, stop, nod head" thing down cold. The Cons: Made of wood, with no actual personality showing through [not that he doesn't have one, I just can't tell]. He gives me a "stranger with candy" vibe. PS - Anyone catch Steven Colbert's parody of him on The Daily Show? Perfect!

I like him, he is a tad wooden, but that is his style for the type program he does. I like his voice, not as good as Chuck Roberts, who has the best voice I think, but Stone is a pleasant interviewer and presenter.

There is something too dramatic about the tone in his voice ... it gets annoying, fast and makes it hard to take his reporting very seriously.

Stone Phillips couldn't get anymore cheesy. I don't deny that Dateline still knows how to get the human interest stories and Stone knows how to tell them to keep people watching.

Is it my imagination, or is Dateline on 7 nights a week? I'm starting to think that Stone Phillips isn't a real person. Maybe he's a computer-generated animation. Or maybe NBC created 7 of him in a test tube experiment of some kind, and they bring out a new one each night of the week. Or maybe he's an emotionless pod-person who doesn't need to sleep. Well, regardless of the source of his bionic power, he creeps me out a little.
