What a slanted debate appearance. Could you have just gotten down on your knees and given McCain some oral? Your "play by the rules, watch the lights" crap was like a 4 year old.
willinvirginia 03/18/2008
Among the best ever. Second only to Cronkite.
louiethe20th 02/23/2008
Didn't care for him politically, but he had an awesome combo of charisma and character. I used to watch NBS News when he was the anchor.
windchime 05/17/2007
Miss you, you crazy Native-American sexy man!
LadyJesusFan77 7 07/06/2006
A sad day when NBC Nightly News lost him as news anchor. Good job!
X Factor Z 10/04/2005
Actually, I never seen much of him, but now since he has retired I wish I had watched the Nightly News more when he was the anchor. A very warm and sincere personality, witty and charming.
fluffytuffy 08/27/2005
What can I say, MISS HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not that Brian Williams is bad, but Brokaw is just one level above everyone else!
GenghisTheHun 08/22/2005
He was likeable and is the last of a genre.
bluetarbaby 07/25/2005

One of my all time favorites...classy, knowledgeable, and good looking for an older guy. :-)
kelli_71 04/13/2005
One of the best, and most handsome, reporters of all time. One of my very favorites, too. One really classy guy!
ellis 03/31/2005
Great voice and a true class act in the news business. He can actually report the news, Katie.
singsplatsing 02/20/2005
There is no God; there is only Tom Brokaw.
geog84 02/01/2005
Anyone who says they don't like him is lying. He is a very good and non-biased broadcaster.
middlefinger 01/08/2005
Glad he retired. Loved the sound of his own voice. Wise of him to move out of the way to let someone younger earn the mega-bucks.
fourdashsix 12/27/2004
the best i've ever seen
riffraff 12/07/2004
Low point of anchor career was premature call in 2000 election for Gore. Ouch! Also, tries too hard to come across as being a very modest, regular guy when you just know he and the other network anchors think of themselves as modern-day gods handing down the news from Mt. Olympus every night at 6:30. When asked how he thought he'd be remembered, T.B. said perhaps his hometown in S.D. would name the speed bump outside the local fire station after him. Aw, shucks fellas!
El_Kabong4U 12/03/2004
Tom was the best news ancher since the days of Walter Cronkite !!
RaterX 11/20/2004
Goodbye and good riddence.
cpfoley 11/10/2004
biased to the point of disturbing
Bonniebell 10/09/2004
I like Tom's delivery, will miss him.I have to say,I think he was imbibin' the shine a few times while on air.
Louie222 09/09/2004
If the world were ending tomorrow, Brokaw's story line would be: World to end tomorrow, women and minorities most effected. This guy is stuck on the women and minorities story. But the good news is, retirement is near.
drjrr 08/30/2004
Can't give a [0]. Giant ego cry-baby. In love with himself and his voice.
MissPackRat4Je sus 08/28/2004
Brokaw is one of the best when it comes to reporting the news. He reports it in a very straightforward style, but he is not afraid to show he has emotions, either. More than once, he's been known to be close to welling up when there is some sort of touching story. He doesn't seem to come off as some sort of monotone robot like so many of the others. Brokaw's for real!
early69 07/21/2004
Good anchor.

America's Mortician General
ernesta 05/27/2004
Liberal news wonk. Tries to sound overly important. But fails.
marcm9999 05/23/2004
Boring and biased. A true leftist.
gunfondler 04/28/2004
Sounds like he's drunk sometimes but he's a good journalist.
1Simonne2 04/23/2004
Of the three network newscaster, he's the only one I will watch because he's more objective than the other two. He's good & decent guy but I have move on to FoxNews.
handy 03/10/2004
I wish that the network had someone unbiased doing the news. Just before the 2000 Presidential election, I heard him interview Gore; Brokaw called him President Gore. On 911, just after the tragedy, Brokaw suggested on TV that Bush had caused 911 by not making peace in the Middle East; Brokaw forgot that Clinton had failed for 8 years to get peace in the Middle East. Recent interviews with Al Queda prisoners have shown that the 911 attacks had been planned since 1995, well before Bush took office. Brokaw is unable to hide his disdain for conservatives. A biased liberal.
Redoedo 02/28/2004
Brokaw is generally good. I don't really sense any bias when he reports the news. Like everyone else, he has his beliefs, but rarely do they ever interfere with his reporting. Brokaw is a respectable and professional TV news host.
LadyShark4534 10/25/2003
I hate how everyone compares him to liberals. For God's sakes, We are not like this babbling incoherent fool! We don't write cheesy self-biographies full of lies. Yeah. Tom Brokaw did that.
sunglazd 06/04/2003
I like Tom Brokaw, he is my favorite anchor. He is professional but with a slight humanity to him, not sterile, but not preachy either. I just find his newscasts to be professional, intelligent, interesting. He reminds me of Cronkite, professional with a human touch.
Dylan56 05/11/2003
Tom Brokaw is the most trusted man in America. He's like the nation grandfather. I always feel a little more safe when Tom Brokaw gives the news.
President -X-D 05/06/2003
Did somebody say he's retiring??!! To quote Marv Albert: YES!!!!
nkienitz 05/06/2003
Brokaw is the consummate professional with a heart. He will be missed when he retires following the next general election.
GHWBushFDRReag an 04/11/2003
He actually sounds like me after a good night o' drinkin' straigh Jack...
robbo 04/08/2003
Katie Couric with a penis. Wait a minute, Katie Couric may have a penis.
B. McCoy 03/31/2003
Liberal but more than that...boring...
Aaron19761955 03/29/2003
He acts like a robot!!!
aswimmer 03/26/2003
He is the American version of Peter Jennings (Canadian) and is the best on the list by leaps and bounds.
joshrm4 03/21/2003
I hate his voice. For sure not the best of the top three network news anchors!
brownin 01/15/2003
Love Tom!! He is GREAT!!!
Shukhevych 12/08/2002
Unabashed liberal.
Aurielle 11/21/2002
Tom Brokaw is probably my all-time favorite newscaster. He reports with dignity and professionalism on the nightly stories of strife and maintains a bit of humor and sparkle in his eye on the personal stories of people around the world. He has shown emotion in the least-likely of situations but never pushes his opinion on the viewers. His job is to report the news, remember, not write it nor make it. Whenever something tragic happens to us, hearing Tom Brokaw's deep timbre on NBC is somehow soothing and helps to put everything in perspective.
addicted 10/25/2002
I don't agree with all that he says, but as far as news anchors go he's tops with me.
Damifino 07/07/2002
Of the "big 3" network anchors, I feel that he's the most objective, and doesn't let his leftward leanings shine through TOO much. He seems like a good entertainer with a real sense of humor. And, his "Greatest Generation" books are a fascinating read. After he retires (which I think I read would happen in the next 2-3 years), he would probably make a good roving lifestyle-reporter type, along the lines of Charles Kurault.
ellajedlicka21 10/19/2001
The main NBC man.
